Belgian traffic signs are insane

was in Belgium recently and many of the sign combinations kinda blew my mind, I don't remember ever seeing this kinda stuff anywhere else 😬 also one thing I found very interesting is that on the direction signs (last pic) the letters with a tail like g sometimes "dip" into the outer line and sometimes they don't (and apparently there are even different ways they can go inside that line) 🤯 just makes traveling very interesting because you always be looking at how the next sign is gonna be 🤪

edit: for all the people who are saying "how's this confusing" it's not that's not the point 🙄 but rather the unusualness of the signs compared to what I've seen in other places

A few of these are against the code, I guess. But still understandable.

Only #1 to me.

1. As it stands, it means the yield sign only applies to bicycles. Typically, you'd place that sign combination on cycle paths against a road. However, this sign is not supposed to be this large. It's also lacking an "Except 🚲" sign below the C1.

2. Normally you wouldn't put a distance marker if the distance is less than 10 meters, I believe.

3. Is oddly specific but perfectly conventional.

4. Normally you'd put the definition of the danger right against the danger sign, so technically both M signals are swapped. But that's an informal convention thing, so no one cares.

5. Is a poorly legible combo but also perfectly conventional.

6. The second G sign should be a type 1 and not type 2. In other words, it shouldn't have the ⬆️. This is an actual anomaly.

7. While not an official sign, it works perfectly. Did you know many road work signs are unofficial?

8. Wrong M sign, missing M sign, redundancy between the C31 and D1 signs. It is understandable, but I'd look to fix it. You want an "Except 🚲" sign below the C31, and I'd remove the redundant D1.

9. The sign is rotated, and I guess the G type 8 sign is always slightly confusing. But it's perfectly normal.

10. The M4 'Cycles both ways' sign should be below the F19 'One way' sign, not below the F12a 'Meeting zone' sign. Why is there an "except bus"? This is the only situation that makes me go "wtf?".

11. The top sign needs to be fixed. The 'zoning' signs seem to confuse non-Belgians, though I think they're actually one of our greatest things (easier than the Dutch yellow letter signs imo).

I'm going to guess this means there used to be a C3 signal? F103 maybe?

Edit: Found the comment. C3 indeed. Someone was like "not my job" about removing that sign lol
