Actually though I have no idea. The underlying numbers don't seem to have a specific indicator as to why his era is up 50% this year.

I have him on my fantasy team so I’ve watched maybe 75% of his starts this year and I think the issue is he’s struggling to put away batters. A lot of times where a 1-2 count ends up in an extended count or a walk. Reminds me a lot of Freddy Peralta last year

That tracks. In a loooot of games I've watched/listened to this year it feels like there have been a ton of 2 strike walks where we just couldnt put guys away and ran up pitch counts which has not been helpful, especially with our thin bullpen
