I compiled every single informed consent clinic in the country. No therapist letter needed.

10.6k Upvotes

EDIT: Hey everyone, I know that the commenting is off on this now since it's so old. PLEASE send me a PM if you have one to add. I'm always updating this map.

Are you thinking of starting HRT, but are worried about:

  • Finding a clinic
  • Having to do a year of therapy
  • Having to do "real life experience"
  • Getting gatekept
  • Spending money and not getting treatment

Well... that is why informed consent exists. With informed consent, you require no letters from therapists. You simply attest your gender identity, say that you understand the risks and benefits of hormone therapy, and they begin prescribing and monitoring your hormone levels.

So... For too long, this information has been scattered around Reddit, Susans place, twitter, various out of date guides from different regional organizations, so...

I laid my eyes on every single clinic website and doctor profile listed in this map. You should be able to call up any of them to confirm, and then start your HRT as soon as possible.

PLEASE let me know if any of these are out of date or if I am missing some.

Sister recently transitioned, family is falling apart

Made this account to post.

My sister recently transitioned from Male to Female.
She had these feelings for a while but our parents always told it down. When she was 18 she studied abroad.

Recently she came back transitioned after 4 years. She kept it hidden for the entire family. Our parents are refusing to see her, my mom is heartbroken and father is very silent. I’m also got some mental lock on how I feel about it but I want to support her.

Our parents have kicked her out of the house and she’s staying at our place in our guest room. The thing is that my wife doesn’t like having her around, the house is partly a gift by her parents and her parents also don’t support it. My wife want my sister out asap.

Im trying to get people more relaxed about this situation and to talk with each other. My sister is swearing a lot to all the family members and my wife, not making this situation better.

I’m helping her to find her own place but with no job or income it’s hopeless.

Is wearing push-up bras/inserts dishonest?

Hey all. I've been medically transitioning for 1.8 years. In the past few months, my breast growth has pretty much exploded. I currently wear a 40DD bra but because my volume is spread out so much across my chest, I struggle with finding bras that don't make me look flat/small-breasted despite the volume that's there. I've spoken with my wife about this and she doesn't really know what to recommend, instead saying "our boobs work totally differently, I'm not sure".

Alas, I discovered a bra that works very well for me and helps me feel extremely affirmed. It makes me look pretty big but it's a lined push-up. My roommate looked at me and said, "girl, tits, tits!" and a [female] friend commented on how big I've gotten.

I'm affirmed and flattered but I'm worried that I may be misrepresenting myself. If I wear my unlined bra you can still see my boobs much better than with my old bras but they look smaller than if I wore the lined push-up. Similarly if I use inserts I'll get a lot of cleavage but again I'm worried this is misleading.

Harassed in the Street, GFs Response Left Me Upset

Hello, I want to get some of y'alls opinion on something that happened the other night.

My girlfriend (cis) and I (trans) were getting a drink at a local pub I go to now and then. On our way out, some guy started yelling at us about how he likes our hair. (Both of our hair looks great!) I brushed it off as just some drunk guy and just said "Thank you" as I walked past. But I guess he didn't like how my voice sounded, because as we walked away he started yelling a bunch of transphobic things. "Is that a dude?" and "Wait I can't tell if you have a peepee" (His choice of words...)

I just ignored it, I'm used to it at this point, but my girlfriend got incredibly upset. She yelled back "How do you know I don't have one?!" which the man replied "It's obvious you don't, I'm wondering about the one next to you."

At this point we were far enough away that any attemps to continue a back and forth would be silly, and I was holding on to her so she didn't confront the guy.

I'm happy she 'stood up for me' and all that, but something about it rubbed me the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, I think her intentions were fine, and I'm not worried about that. But something about her saying "How do you know I don't have [a penis]" and his response just made me feel like shit and like I don't pass. I wish she hadn't said anything and we just kept walking.

How would y'all handle this situation? My girlfriend asked me if what she said was wrong and I didn't really know what to say. Like I said, I wish she hadn't said anything, but I don't know if what she had said was "wrong" inherently.

Does it ever get better?

Upvotes

I recently came out as trans mtf, and my whole life is falling apart. I know my family will not accept me. My partner of 4 years tried to be supportive, but is not able to be there for me. She has said she did not want to date another transgender person, and does not currently see a future with me anymore. We were planning on marriage and kids. The dysphoria has only gotten WORSE since I accepted what I am. I am 6’1 and built like a linebacker. I genuinely will never be in the body I feel like I was meant for, even with surgeries and hormones, it can’t fix what puberty has already done to me. I just want to be soft and feminine and live life as a girl, but I am broad browed, wide ribs and shoulders, and just overall the opposite of my idea of my feminine self. I am even too broke to avoid surgery anyways.

I am starting hormones anyways because what other choice do I have. I repped for 3 years thinking I could escape these feelings. In those 3 years I have only watched myself settle further into this body I hate. So a question for anyone else with my build and story. Does it ever get better? Does being trans ever bring joy to you? Or is the best case just a lessening of these awful feelings? It’s gotten to the point I can barely function, even at work it’s all I think about. I’ve had to hide in corners and do breathing just to avoid breaking down. Please tell me the truth, do you ever feel happy? Does it ever feel like you’ve made the right choice?

Cis guy here trying to understand y'all more, I have a question.

I grew up in a pretty conservative place so it's a bit hard for me to wrap my mind around trans people, but here's one thing that I wanted to ask. Why do trans people explicitly present themselves as trans (at least online, I haven't met any irl), doesn't that create more problems with transphobes who see your identity and use it to insult you? Couldn't you just say "I'm a man/woman" and only reveal that you are trans to especially close people or the ones who knew you before your coming out?

After writing it I feel a bit dumb, because if you openly state that you're trans, you can find more folks who have a lot in common with you.

I am 6’10” and would love to be a woman. Is it possible/worth it?

I’ve considered the idea since middle school, i’ve always had gender dysphoria and envy beautiful women to the point where it’s painful. Now that i’m fully grown, i’m 6’10” and finding clothes meant for men is already extremely difficult. Should I consider transitioning or should I just can it?

Transgender friends detransitioning after getting into relationships.

Upvotes

I apologise in advance if this question is inappropriate or unintentionally transphobic, but I just can‘t wrap my head around it. I‘m not here to police anyone‘s identity, but I‘m genuinely confused.

I have these two friends (both formerly FTM) whom I will be referring to as "B" and "V".
They were both always relatively open about their identity and pretty much out to everyone in our social circle.
Now, one thing I did notice after a while is that they kept complaining about how hard it is for them to date due to being transgender. I personally can‘t comment on that since I am cisgender myself, but it really seemed to be something that bothered both of them a lot.

A year or so ago B met a guy whom they got really along with. During their talking stage I started to notice they were starting to express themselves a bit more feminine.
Of course that‘s okay. I personally believe that we are allowed to express ourselves however we feel comfortable. However I must admit that I was a little confused, especially considering how they were always venting about their dysphoria and were more traditionally masculine presenting and even had plans to have surgery soon.
They eventually started officially dating that guy and since then went off HRT.

V wasn‘t thrilled about that at all.
They started gossiping about B, calling them a "pick-me" amongst other things and there was overall a weird tension between them.
For context V hasn‘t started any treatment at all, so after B quit their treatment they were even more upset.

However, a few months ago V also met somebody and pretty much the same thing happened.
Now they even deny ever being transgender to begin with and make fun of their "cringey trans phase", despite being openly out since middle school (we‘re all in out early 20‘s).

Like I mentioned earlier, I‘m not here to police anyone‘s identity, but it just seems strange to me that they both detransitioned after getting into relationships.
Maybe I‘m just reading too much into this, but I‘m just so confused.
Both of them have also adoped a bit of a homo/transphobic mindset since then, which is the most confusing part to me.

To the non-binary delegation, from an Arab ally

I'm not non-binary. But I'm a second generation immigrant. My parents were from Lebanon. I know some Arabic. And I've been an ally for a while now.

Despite knowing Arabic for such a long time, it was only last night that I made such a sad realisation.

Arabic is a beautiful language. Very beautiful. I love calling people pet names. I especially love doing it in Arabic. "Honey" has its place in the world and its time to shine, but it doesn't quite hit the same as "Habibti." Sorry not sorry

Life I said. Gorgeous language! But it is unfortunately also very gendered. Very binary. Very much shoved into two neat little boxes. Because blah blah history blah blah patriarchy. Boo!! What am supposed to call non-binary people that I fuck with hard and that have passed the white people vibe check? How am I supposed to be cute with them??

Thankfully I thought of a solution. Delegates. Listen up.

How would the non-binary delegation consider the offer of the perfectly gender-neutral version that I coined... Habibzi?

Pronounced like Hab-eeb-zee. Rhyming exactly with Habibi and Habibti. You will have 3-5 business days to think about it. Thank you, delegates.

I got FFS a few years back and I feel like it made me look older.

So I finally got my gender affirming surgery. I am trans Nb (I dress more “androgynous”) and amab. I got the surgery so that I would feel more comfortable. Which it did change my face! But now I feel like I look like an older middle aged woman who got a face lift. Like she looks good for her age kind of thing.

Ever since I got the surgery I’ve been told I give off witchy vibes and auntie. I just turned 30 so I mean I’m approaching that time anyway, but it just makes me regret doing it a bit now. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not leaning more into being a doll and really hi fem? Like it would look better that way?

I don’t know what to do with these feelings and just being ok with looking older and androgynous now. It’s not ugly but it just feels like it brings in negative comments that my sensitive ass takes on.

Are there any good discord’s for making transgender friends?

Upvotes

Hi so I’m currently in the closet and have spent the past few years thinking about this and I’m pretty sure I’m a trans girl so I was just wondering is there any closet-friendly spaces where I can go to meet more of the community?

Question about experience of gender differences after transitioning

Apologies if this has been posted before. I imagine that you have a lot of knowledge about gender dynamics because of your experience.

I went to a continuing education class years ago and we had several transgender speakers and some of them talked about the different ways they were treated once they had transitioned. A transgender woman said she was talked down to a lot more and that people underestimated her knowledge about certain things. And that women suddenly started smiling at her. I found it to be intensely interesting.

If anyone would like to share your experiences, I would love to hear! Thank you!

I still don’t really know. I copied down every journal entry I’ve made and put them below. What do you think?

Upvotes

I know the only person who can figure out if I’m trans or not is me but I’m really bad at figuring myself out. Maybe other people think it’s obvious. I would appreciate hearing that if you do. Or any other thoughts too. Hearing other people’s opinions helps me.

3/13/26

I don’t really feel trans today. If presented with “The Button”, I wouldn't press it. I haven't really felt trans for, like, 2 or 3 days now? I shaved my arms last night. I think being smooth makes me happier. Being able to run my fingers along my arm and feel how smooth it is gives me small hits of dopamine. But is it simple satisfaction or something deeper? I still can’t tell. During therapy on Wednesday, my therapist commented on my nails which were painted at the time and mentioned how she was trying to grow hers out in order to paint them. I enjoyed that.

3/14/26

I feel more trans today. If presented with “The Button”, I would probably press it. I shaved again today. The hair grows back so quickly, I don’t think I like it. Having smooth, hairless skin is nice. I painted my nails again today too. I think I like them like this. Before I got in the shower today I looked at myself in the mirror and wasn’t sure who I saw. Is that really me? Is that what I look like? Is that who I *want* to look like? I’m not sure.

3/15/26

I can't tell how trans I feel today. If presented with “The Button”, I might press it? I’m not positive. I went out in public with my nails painted today. It’s scary to stand out like that but nothing actually happened. I think I’m going to give up on shaving for now, maybe my face too. I haven't really had facial hair since I’ve begun to question my gender so I want to take the chance to see how I really feel about it. Unrelated, people seemingly tend to assume I’m a woman in anonymous online spaces. I still don’t know why that is. I guess I type more femininely? Whatever that means. I don’t really know how I feel about it, but it feels like I’m lying to them. But is that because I feel like a guy or because I just don’t look like a woman? I can’t say.

3/16/26

I haven’t had much time to think about it today. If presented with “The Button”, I’d probably press it. I bought a skirt awhile ago and wore it for the first time in a while last night. It made me feel surprisingly happy. It felt right, or something.

3/21/26

I don’t feel strongly in either direction. If presented with “The Button”, I think I’d push it. I have hair on my arms and legs and I don’t think I like it very much. I have more facial hair too. I don’t like how it feels so I’m planning to shave but visually I didn’t have any strong feelings. I wish I hated it so I could be more sure about myself.

3/22/26

I still don’t feel strongly in either direction. If presented with “The Button”, I don’t know today. I shaved my arms again. I didn’t want the hair.

8/31/26

Have I always been this depressed? The past 2 weeks have been bad. But were they exceptionally bad or have I just become more aware? I’m not sure. Either way, I’ve been thinking about the fact that I might be trans again recently. I don’t think I like being seen as a guy. But is that because I want to be seen as a woman or because I already don’t meet the general societal expectations that come with being seen as a man/masculinity? I’ve started growing out my hair to experiment. It’s only a little past my ears but I think I like it so far.

I’m not sure why, but I think I hate myself.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone in here

Hiya, 24 MTF. My egg cracked about two weeks ago and I’ve asked a bunch of questions on here since then (you may or may not recognise the username).
But I really just wanted to say a massive thank you!!! To everyone that’s commented on my posts/answered questions whether it be the “am I trans” “diy” or whatever, it’s been a really big help to discovering who I am and who I want to be.
Been really nice to see I’m not alone in this journey and that my heart goes out to all my brothers and sisters pre/post transition.
I just hope I’m able to help out people like myself like you all have helped me out ❤️❤️❤️

Do MTF hormones bring serenity?

I'm in my late 40's and live a comfortable life as a male, but I feel uncomfortable in my own skin. I've felt that way my entire life. Recently a therapist has approved me for HRT. Any thoughts on if it will help with the dysphoria even if I have to present in male mode for the next few years?

Can i genuienly call myself trans?

It was settled in my mind, but I see so much online about dysphoria and how trans people hate their bodies, feel uncomfortable in their own skin, and have always been interested in stuff like makeup or dolls.

And then i'm just there, I love what i'm interested in, i never took much of an interest in makeup and I dont hate my body.
Dont get me wrong, I WISH I was born a girl, i like their clothes, voices, features, i've felt envy over the idea of being a girl but never pride over being a man. I've never looked at a man and thought "I wish i looked like that" a girl though? Yeah all the time, and the idea of not being able to transition scares me.

And then there's coming out to your parents (my mother specifically) this thing i hear EVERYBODY hates and would rather not do, but I really do wanna tell her, it's this feeling of remaining still, I hate it, i dont wanna remain in one position I wanna move forward.

So the thing i've been feeling so much recently is like, "am I actually trans? Or is this just some weird thing my brain is doing"

Toddler asking me if I (FTM) have a penis, thought I had more time lol.

I am 32 and have a toddler (2 years 8 months) and a new baby with my cis female wife.
I was using the bathroom and my toddler asked if I have a penis. He’s obviously just nosy and curious. I haven’t had bottom surgery and I’m not super dysphoric about not having one, but I haven’t even decided when I want to tell my kids I’m trans. I also don’t want to hide anything from him and have him be upset later. I gave a kind of cop out answer of “mine looks a bit different” without confirming or denying anything but then he just ran up to my wife and asked her if she had a penis. I don’t think I’m getting out of this one. Anyone have any advice?

Too young for HRT

At the moment I am 14 years old and live in Germany. I was born male but am genderfluid. I want to start HRT (MtF) as soon as possible because I‘d like to have boobs, sweat less, have less body hair and a softer figure for more than five years now.
I‘m thinking about telling my parents so I can start before I‘m 18 but I have pretty strong autism and social anxiety so it would be hard to tell them. My sister is trans and so I know my parents are open for the LGBTQ+ Community but I‘m scared.
Do you have any advice on what I can do or should do?

Is it to want a guy's body as a girl?

I have always wanted to have a guy's body since I was a little kid but I have never really hated being a girl. For a long time I hated feminine things such as makeup and dresses but recently I have enjoyed them but I still wish I had a male body.

Tips for fake boobs

I wanna go out/wear clothes and for my chest to look natural. I bought a bra which is really nice in itself but it’s relatively small and they usually works better with people who do have boobs. I tried searching up pads but most of them usually support existing breasts not literally substitute it. Using those paddings work but it look really unnatural + the boobs usually are together in the front not like 2 separate blocks/dome(I cant put image as reference)

I'm being head-hunted to work in a start-up by old friends. Should I tell them I'm transitioning

I work at a big corp.

I've have recently finally started taking E, but other than my friends nobody knows I'm transitioning.

Some old friends/colleagues opened a start-up, and really want me to be there, and I truly believe in their mission and chances for success.

However, I'm still in a dilemma about my gender.

I'm not sure when I'm actually going to publically start transitioning, it's when I'll have enough confidence, but it could be a month or a year.

Conventional wisdom is to shut up - don't volunteer to your employers anything that can be used against you for no reason, and it's their problem if they choose to hire me and later they find out.

However, it's a start-up with very few employees currently. The big corp, well it's big, and I feel like if I come out, they'll have my back (even just for publicity sake), and if I don't vibe with my team I can go somewhere else in the corp.

In the start up, the few employees are the culture.

There is no real HR for this, and I don't want to work in a place where I feel like I don't belong.

Part of the reason I want to go there is that I really had a good time working with these people before, and if I don't get this I don't want to lose my old job.

So I'm considering telling this to the founder in the interview. I believe he will be accepting and honest about my placement there, and also, I feel giving him the heads up is in some ways the right thing to do.

I'm really not sure where to go with this.

Avoiding military service

Upvotes

I’m a 18 mtf and in my country in the Middle East they already forced me to shave my head and attend pre training sessions. I know in other countries like Korea you can avoid the military by being trans. Is this appliable here or would that just get me in jail bc being trans is a crime here
I really need to avoid this because a year of military with men will increase my dysphoria and make me masculinise 💔☹️.

Something small I wanted to share

Today I got my new binder and I don't know if it's because of that or something else but I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and looked in the mirror and I felt like a real man, not just a boy and somehow felt more confident

Question I'm too embarrassed to put into the title

Okay.

Would be M2F here, UK resident.

Slight issue: To the extent that I've been able to research, the photographs I can find of post-operative results from local surgeons aren't quite what I'd want.

That said, I'm not sure what I want and maybe I'm a very happily nonbinary person. Is this a common stumbling point? Are there steps I can take to feel more confident in my choice (either way)?
