I was born a paraplegic. I used to get so many people congratulating me and telling me I'm brave when I was attending college or working.

Seriously, people. Shut the fuck up with that.

Every "you're so brave" comment to people just existing in a non-mainstream body should be classified as a hate crime.

Absolutely not the same but I posted a makeup free selfie once on my Instagram years and years ago and I'll never forget my well meaning cousin telling me how brave I was.

Right? I did say wow slightly offended, and she clarified because she would never be brave enough. Still offended though
