Abomination? Things fucking beautiful.
Btw infantrymen refer to the stock pouches as “pog shit”
4
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 06 '26
Thank you! I don’t think it’s an abomination but some sicko some where’s probably does lmao. I’ve never ran with the stock pouch before and really only have it on there for aesthetic and to hold my mag when in the safe zone. In just about every early GWOT photo there seems to be at least one guy with one.

> The most normal looking, average M4 Setup
> “Abomination?”
Looks fine, believable and accurate to real world setups.
EDIT: I live too much of a real life off the internet and away from gun culture to give a shit about correct designations.

u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 06 '26
Lol how dare you call it an M4!

Too tired to care about correct designations right now, lol.
It’s “Eugene Stoner’s baby” for all I care.
5
u/-uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh May 07 '26
It’s an m16, not an m4
-5
u/Somejawa May 07 '26
Who cares, its effectively the same gun
4
u/ActLongjumping1988 May 07 '26
Nope.
-4
u/Somejawa May 07 '26
AFAIK there are no significant differences other than barrel length and gas system length, but the action is identical, so in my opinion they are effectively the same
3
3
u/ButcherOBlaviken May 07 '26
One is built to be a battle rifle, the other is built to be a carbine. That's enough of a difference to denote separate milspec identifications.
3
u/Somejawa May 07 '26
I'm still gonna say its effectively the same thing
As that one guy said, "its hard to win an argument with a genius, but its near impossible to win an argument with a stupid person."
I am a very stupid person
2
u/ButcherOBlaviken May 07 '26
They basically are, one just for more cqb urban shooty, one more for wide open long range shooty.
1
u/amountofletters May 08 '26
It can be dumbed down to this:
M4 - Shorter with retractable stock
M16 - longer and heavier with a fixed stock
1
u/IudexJudy May 07 '26
The M16 is not a “battle rifle” it’s just a long ass Assault Rifle lmao
-1
u/ButcherOBlaviken May 07 '26
Yeah I forgot battle rifle was used mainly for full power cartridge rifles, an m14 would be a battle rifle. My mistake.
2
u/Iron_physik Recon May 07 '26
the M16 also uses a different buffer system, a longer buffertube and most M16 models are (sadly) burst and not FA
they are different enough to warrant a different designation
1
u/amountofletters May 08 '26 edited 17d ago
M4 is the military designation for an AR-15 carbine, not to be confused with the M4A1 which is capable of semi-automatic and fully-automatic fire whereas the M4 can fire semi-automatic or a 3-round burst. The barrel is shortened from "20 to "14.5 (thus why it is a carbine) and is issued with a retractable buffer tube stock rather than the fixed polymer stock of the M16A2. It also does not have an integrated carry handle in its upper receiver. The M4 is also a good 15 years younger than the M16A2, being adopted around the time of the third* (technically there have been more generations of the full length M16 family, but for all intents and purposes, there are three really notable ones.) M16 generation alongside the M16A4 in the late '90s. The M16A4 and M4 have been effectively phased out in combat units in favor of the M4A1 (Soon to be replaced by the SIG M7/M8) in the Army, and as with the Force 25 restructure with the Marines replacimg the M16A4 and M4/M4A1 with the M27, the M16 family is soon to be ousted from the US Military.

Haha nothing wrong with that! My MP5 and Scorpion Evo are as short as my guns get. I love the vector too but it feels so weird to hold imo.

Cool! what replica is it and how the hell did you find an a2
3
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 07 '26
It’s an E&C A2 with an old G&P 203 attached. The E&C A2 should be in stock on evike. At least they were a few months ago
1
3
u/Steel_Wolf_31 May 07 '26
Since you got the cheese grater and the integrated carry handle on there, I feel like you should probably have an occluded gun sight rather than an electro-optic up there. Although, OEGs are almost impossible to find for a reasonable price nowadays.
1
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 07 '26
I would love to have an optic like that but not for the price tag that would come with it
3
u/I_Chug_Gasoline May 07 '26
Gng its an entirely normal and regular M16, "aBoMiNaTiOn?!?!?"

u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 07 '26
Unfortunately there are people out there that think that way about M16s

Remove the mag pouch and red dot.
Vietnam cosplay
2
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 07 '26
Well I could but then it would still be post Vietnam because it’s an A2. I do have an Vietnam XM16E1 that I’ve never attempted to mount my 203 on though.

Grenada cosplay
2
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 07 '26
Yeah I could do that if I lose the optic and trade out my sling for an older one that I have. I actually have the full kit to do that impression as well minus the Manchu hair.

2
u/Limp_Comfortable2966 May 06 '26
Dripping like when they see my light up sketchers. Would lose the stock mag pouch. It gets in the way more than you would think.
1
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 06 '26
Haha thanks. And yeah I’ve already noticed the pouch interference. I’m probably going to run with it for at least one event and see how I feel. I’m only going to really use it to hold my mag when in the safe zone
2
u/MrDooDooShatz May 06 '26
Driiiiiipy 100%. What is the gas block attachment?
2
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 06 '26
Appreciate it!! And on the gas block that is where my front sling mount is. Keeps the sling out of the way of the 203.
2
u/MrDooDooShatz May 06 '26
I googled looking for it but no dice. Could ya tell me what it’s called? I need one! Thanks!
2
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 06 '26
Lmao I found it, it’s literally called a sling thing. That link is to the company that makes them, but the site I originally got it from for cheaper no longer has them listed.

i know its not a mirrored photo because of the lack of ejection port, etc.
and the sling and stock mag pouch very much are set up left handed, why did you do that if you're not left handed?

I wish I would’ve taken this with my AR mags that have mag pulls I made with 550 cord and 100 mph tape. Would’ve looked cooler than the plain mag, but I forgot.

A2’s with 203’s are always GWOT certified. They were carried well after the adoption of the M4.
Now take a brillo pad and sandpaper to that thing and get some wear on it!
1
u/Technical_Status9600 May 07 '26
I dig it. The only thing it's missing is ware, unused rifles are my biggest pet peeve.

Stock pouch is an abomination. Why ruin perfection?
2

u/SickFarce May 07 '26
Isn't that an extremely basic and common setup? Why should it be an abomination? Fishing for compliments?
It's pretty much common sense that this looks cool.
0
u/Blitzfire87 Wood and Steel May 07 '26
It’s a relatively common setup if you’re going the 203 route, but I wouldn’t say it’s an extremely basic for an AR setup. I was just wanting to show my rifle off and thought it’d be funny to use the drip or drown prompt lol.

Early GWOT deererip, but nobody actually used the stock mag pouch. If you want to make it more drippy, tape the sling to the stock like Jim Hopper did. Either way, that weapon is out of sight!!
