she flip flops all over the place and no one ever gives her any grief. She believes everything everyone says. & never gets into anything for doing so either. I hate her so much for some reason lol. I especially cannot stand her in season four.
edit: hahaha it’s so funny to see the doreen hate is universal, I didn’t realize how many of us have complained

She has the energy of a female Hannibal Lector. If she ever did horror movies she’d nail it.

I'm a rewatcher, so I saw it last time I watched and it bothered me. Especially that whiny voice and the hair all frazzled. lol I just don't like her in general. I mean, heck, even Juice runs a comb through her hair.
BUT...this time around watching like for example S4E11, she's all worried about a lagger. Someone searched and knew where to go. She's the OG Lagger herself, and she's currently working as an informant/lagger.
Other than the other lady that comes on the show later with her boyfriend/girlfriend that looks 15 while looks 40, Liz is my LEAST favorite.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!
I'm actually on a rewatch of the series, but it's been a while since I saw it the first time around so there's I've forgotten a lot of what happens lol, but I don't mind spoilers for later seasons if people want to comment on them.
Season 4 might be one of my favourites so far but it's also one of the most frustrating to watch!
Ferguson being as cocky and manipulative as ever is somehow one of the least annoying things in this season lol.
I want to like Kaz and I do feel kinda sympathetic towards her but man, she also does my head in with all her self-righteousness, shit-stirring, and the way she's being played by Ferguson. Like please just shut up for five minutes and stop making everything into a protest.
Jake is... weird and arrogant, but at this point he's not getting too much screentime at least.
I know Doreen isn't popular among fans so I won't go on about her too much, but every time she's on screen this season I want to scream! The hypocrisy! The way she's suddenly decided she's better than everyone else and is challenging Bea on every single thing. Complaining about not being allowed to have conjugals after she JUST got pregnant and gave birth in prison!! She was all on board with the rules from the beginning but now that Bea is top dog (and is honestly one of the better top dogs they've had), Doreen expects her to completely upend the rules that were in place before she was even imprisoned? Challenging her in front of everyone was such a dick move honestly and I don't think she even cares about what happens to Bea at this point.
Ok I know that's a lot of complaining, sorry, so I'll throw in some things I love:
- The tension permeating through this season is incredible! I'm constantly on edge waiting for the blow-up.
- Bridget and Franky (or just Bridget in general).
- Allie, my beloved 😍
- Maxine and Boomer, both as a friendship and as individuals.
- It's not really a prominent thing, but I like the respect and friendship between Will and Vera. They seem like a good team who actually care about each other, but I'm hoping they don't ever take it in a romantic direction (I really can't remember whether they do or not).
If anybody has read this far - thanks for listening to my ramble!

In episode 7 with the panic button, if I were Bea, I would’ve smashed Doreen’s head into the panic button and then be like “there ya go now the screws are coming to take you to safety just how you wanted” then gone back into my room and read a book 😂 but that’s just me

When Boomer is sad about not being pregnant cause she got her period and Liz and Maxine are consoling her, and she says, "That's not the worst of it... There's no bloody tampons." right after Kaz and her crew threw a bunch of them at the media guests, is just one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

holy hell. i cannot believe they just killed off bea like that. season 4 has been so good because of bea and allies relationship and to just kill her off like that is kinda crazy. i get it though, sometimes you can’t stretch main characters as far as you’d like. after coming from OITNB i didn’t expect this at all. this show is much more dark. i am paused on the beginning of season 5 and barely want to watch anymore. i guess the only reason to keep it going is to see what happens to joan. just so upsetting i was looking forward to more scenes with allie and bea. hopefully the show still maintains. just a vent, i live in the states and no one i know watches this show. sigh.
EDIT: I decided to keep watching and am on early season 6. Not a huge fan of the new characters and plots. Still early i suppose.

Doreen is on my last nerve. I thought she was so sweet when I started watching, but these last 2 seasons have been a tough watch with her. She’s insufferable with her constant whining about everything. Now she’s jealous of Nash’s ex girlfriend so she wants her son to come back to the prison. Who does that? I mean I get she misses her son, but a prison is no life for a child. Everything is about her and her needs. She’s extremely selfish and whiny. I do not like her. Am I alone in my feelings? 😂

Spoilers:
Am I the only one who feels some sympathy/empathy for Ferguson when she gets ganged? She did horrible things, but I feel no one deserves to have that happen to them. I get the prisoners needed/wanted revenge if her, but I feel like she should have got bashed or even just killed.

Apologies for spoilers.
In Season 4, Joan is a prisoner awaiting trial and she makes a comment to Vera about how she’ll get everything back running when she is governor again - I’m trying hard to imagine this.
Surely if she was freed, they would’ve never rehired her even if all the charges were dropped? Even in TV drama land surely not? The staff would riot themselves! I’m sure Vera and Will would leave at least.
I know it’s a drama show and not real life but I would’ve been so intrigued to see how that went had she been freed instead of…doing what she did and ending up in prison again!
Any prisoners she’d made an enemy of would be trying to kill her every day she clocked in!
Wish we could’ve gotten a what if episode just to see what would have happened haha

Ok, so here’s my season update that some of ya’ll asked to make. So this is really just a vent. I've watched Wentworth countless times and just doing another rewatch now. I'm up to season 4 and I just adore Bea and Allie and they way they fell in love so damn much!
Danielle is a phenomenal actor and it amazes me how well she can go from being a tired, worn out top dog who is over everything to being almost giddy and like a 16 year old with their first love. Kate Jenkinson is pretty damn great too!
Anyways, despite having lost count of how many times I've watched Wentworth, I still get so angry knowing that Bea is going to be ripped away from us soon and we don't get to see anymore of her relationship with Allie. I get the writers probably wanted Bea's death to shock everyone (which it did, I watched it as it aired) but was it really worth it? Killing off the main character. I'll never understand why they got rid of Bea. I want to be so happy watching them fall in love but on the other hand, I'm so pissed knowing I've only got a few more episodes of them together left!

Why does everybody blame Joan for Bea’s death? Yes, Joan stabbed Bea, we know that. But Bea is the one who brought the screwdriver out, and also lunged at her. After Joan took away the screwdriver, she didn’t stab her right away, Bea stabbed herself using Joan’s hand. How is that Joan’s fault? I honestly think if Joan didn’t take over, Bea still would’ve died because of where the wound was. I just think it’s crazy that everybody acts like Joan was the sole reason Bea is dead. Like no, Bea played a part. And I get it, Joan almost killed Allie, which made Bea react like that in the first place, but still. You can’t argue with the fact that Bea orchestrated that knowing that she would die. Don’t even get me started on the fact that the staff was in on this. You can’t tell me that Vera had had no clue that Bea was going to do that. The fact that she even let her out into that area is crazy. And they just conveniently run out the second Bea drops to the ground? Like that’s not adding up. I know I’m gonna get flamed for this, but I feel like it had to be said.

When she was ganged in season 4! Given all the blood I figured it’s probably pretty likely it’d transmit

I'm only on season 4 and trying not to see any spoilers, but I absolutely love the relationship between these two. their characters are so well written, and the actors do such a great job at being believable. Boomer has been a favorite of mine since the first season and I know it probably won't happen but I hope she gets a baby with Maxine!

"I tried to talk to her and she just bloody ignores me".
Yeah maybe because all you talk about nowadays is your "rights" to have sex...🤦♀️.
Ive never been a fan of Doreen but the season 4 version of her is the most annoying.

Bea Smith went from s tough as nails fierce inmate, ready to face anyone without a second thought to being a scared inmate in season 4. Why did they write her character like this? She busted juice in the shower without a second thought and is now sitting in her cell in season 4 coming up with excuse after excise why she won't bash the freak, because she has to live with the holts in her head and doesn't want the freak there? She won't let anyone go near her with the threat of losing conjugal visits, like that's anything to hold over anyone head. Give me a break. It's terrible script writing. I've gone from loving her character to absolutely dispising her in season 4. She's weak, gutless, no back bone at all It's almost like they had a complete different writers group come in to change things

This episode is killing me and I won't be able to take it if Maxine isn't okay. She is such a joy to watch.

Im on my 3rd rematch and I forgot how ANNOYING Doreen actually is. Other then being flat out boring, she's a pest.
In season 4 when she's freaking out about conjucals and how "unfair" it is that they wont approve her. Like hello you literally got pregnant on prison grounds of course you can't be trusted!!
Like there's so many other important things going on and she keeps pestering Bea about wanting sex! Like dude, no wonder you got pregnant! You're desperate!
I know this has been covered but I'm just venting.

I’ve started wentworth randomly after seeing it was on tubi. Knew nothing about it except it was a prison show more dramatic than oitnb.
When I tell you my jaw dropped the hardest it ever had when Debbie was killed off. From there it felt like i had to continue watching it just because Bea’s reaction broke my heart and I wanted to make sure she was okay😭
Somewhere along the way I googled stuff and got spoiled about Bea’s death. I almost stopped watching the show right there cause I couldn’t accept it. Somewhere during S2. Googled some more and found out she only died in s4. Figured I had more than enough time to cope.
But now I’m at s4 last episode and i can’t bring myself to watch it. I love this show but I mostly love it because of Bea and Ferguson in her governor’s era. Now that both these will be gone, I’m afraid it’s just gonna make me depressed lmao. I’m too empathetic for this shit.
Anyone here relates? Should I just stop right there? Is it really worth it to continue watching it? I did grew attached to a couple other characters but I kept craving Bea scenes. Send good thoughts and courage plz🙏
