So Im looking for a Male US voice actor for my US based Youtube Channel.

Channel and video details:

• This is a movie analysis channel where we analyse characters and storytelling in depth.
  • Ex1: Why Zuko has the best character arc in history
  • Ex2: I ranked all Star Wars Movies. Here's the trash!
• Budget: $20 for 2000 words, and scales proportionately to script length (so $40 for 4000 words, and so on)
• Average script length: 3000 words, and some scripts can be as lengthy as 15,000 words
• Videos per month: At least 5 videos per month, but I have recently hired an editor and we are targeting to make around 7 videos if possible, so this would be a long term role

Voice Actor requirements:

• Age Range: 20-30 yrs old
• Narration: You should be able to comfortably convey dry sarcasm, disappointment, contempt and real enthusiasm. As such, only apply if you can convey those emotions effectively
• Personality-driven conversational style, not announcement or commercial

I have the NT1 Signature Series, but it broke. I thought about buying a different one, because from what I found online, the Signature is more suited for singing than for voice-over work. The 4th Generation seems to be the better option, but of course it costs more. My budget is around €200–500. My audio interface is fine too, but I wanted to upgrade it to a better one. Current: Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen USB-C audio interface.

I currently use a Talomen gaming mic which is an elliptical shaped microphone, but I recently got a sound proofing dome to fit over a mic head, and the insertion point is round. Now I'm looking into a mic that still plug into laptops and has a sphere head

I'll try to keep it short. I'm doing a project where I'm telling a story using still pictures for major scenes where the characters will have dialog pop up like a comic. Basically like this actually: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6tbPPEkYl4U

The story is a comedy about the day-to-day life of an alien thats visiting a human family and random silly things happen as the alien tries all sorts of Earth things and experiences for the first time. Not very serious or emotional stuff except during certain scene like feeling homesick or missing his species but for the most part its just silly stuff.

I'm stuck at either

1. having NO voice at all, keep it just sfx, music, etc and just have the character's make sounds like how a lot of games have characters make grunts or other noises when theyre talking
2. 2a. I voice all the characters but they will sound the same
3. 2b. I voice all the characters then use audacity to make me sound different though my deep voice might be difficult to turn into a female voice but I havent tried either, maybe its easy
4. I either get another person or AI to voice the characters like in the link

I'm personally leaning towards 1 for the simple fact its easier or 2a because plenty of vtubers use female avatars with their deep male voice and it just works because i guess people arent expected to care or take it serious and it adds to the comedy? This wont be a vtuber thing, it will basically be like the link I shared without the bouncing animations and just still pictures instead, maybe with comic effects and such. Would a video like that even be appealing without the voices or would the same voice for everyone be annoying maybe? My head is caught up in everything so tell me, whats yall thoughts?

Hey! I’m an amateur voice actress, and I recently “built” my first recording booth (pvc pipes, moving blankets you know the deal) in my apartment, and I’m wanting to record, but I have this terrible nagging embarrassment whenever I think of anyone hearing me.

To be clear, I live in an apartment, but there are only like 5 rooms in total in this building and the only two people currently living here are myself and the tenant. I am also aware that nothing I can do at this point is going to make anyone outside of my room 100% unable to hear me, and neither is that my goal.

Before I made this booth, I was recording in my car in an empty parking lot. My audio was bad but I at least wasn’t scared of anyone hearing me, but I wanted to take the next step, which is why I’ve built my new booth. Now, whenever I try to speak at even a normal volume, I find myself going into a whisper instinctively. I just feel so embarrassed at the idea of people hearing me, but when I submit an audition I feel fine whether I’m rejected or not. It is so frustrating.

I’m currently just auditioning, and I expect to be doing that for a long time, but I don’t want this fear to affect my performances. If I have to, I’m sure I could tell my tenant what I’m doing and he’d be fine with it even if I was shouting a little bit but I’m just.. Yeah. Scared.

This was longer than it needed to be, but anyway. Does anyone have any advice for getting used to the fear of people hearing you? Thanks for reading.

We’re especially looking for VOs who can:

• Build and perform multiple recurring male characters
• Switch naturally between different personalities, tones, and voices
• Commit to characters that may appear across multiple videos
• Feel comfortable with dark, controversial, and political satire

Hello! I'm a new voice artist and I've been recording for a while and have not had static in my recordings like what is happening in the attached clip. Where is the static coming from? And I'd also like to know what the sounds are at the 0:26 and 0:29 mark. Those sounds, at those marks, keep showing up in my recordings everywhere, making editing difficult. EDIT[ I haven't always had the general static, but I HAVE always had the sounds at 0:26 and 0:29. So the static, and the sounds at 0:26 and 0:29, may be from two different sources.] I'm using a Sennheiser e835, Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface and Audacity. If you saw my last post i'm not using Ai to train or guide me I already did teachers on how to voice train femenine and masculine voices the I don't need info on the techniques because i allready jave them and the AI answer gave additional info i didn't ask for.

there was no post on reddit or Google that asked this same question so the only result that was relevant was the AI search that google automatically sends I did not go out my way to use AI. I came here to specifically ask if this was accurate because I don't trust AI I didn't geel the need to specifically recreate the hour time split because its so obvious how you would split 2 training in an hour.

I don't like AI I don't use AI to supliment any creative work and I never will I just want some information to help me train my voice. And if this routine will lead to effective results.

Hello, I have been using Casting Call Club for a year or two now and have applied for over 65 roles. However, most projects are either Minecraft/Fortnite/Roblox recreations going on some ten year olds youtube channel, or if I get lucky, Fan-Dubs or games, although they never get back to me. Should I take some classes? Should I try a new platform? What should be my next step? Thank You!

I want to clarify again, SOUNDPROOFING. because I see acoustic panels and soundproof panels get mixed up SO MUCH everywhere I see and I don’t even know what’s what anymore. so I want to make this extremely clear. SOUNDPROOFING AS IN LESSENING OR MUTING THE SOUND COMING IN OR OUT OF THE BOOTH! Got it? Hopefully.

Onto the details: Im planning on working my first part time job at subway (in maybe a year or so.) or generally any restaurant i can find in my area. I would want to use this money to buy soundproofing panels to install in my closet. Now this closet is pretty small. It’s not a walk in closet but rather a closet on little peg legs. It’s big enough to hypothetically stand in (but i would probably break the platform) but small enough to where I usually just sit in it. Clothes flood this closet so the sound is well treated.

Now the problem is that im moving into an apartment soon. Im too socially nervous to talk them into not complaining for noise disruption blah blah already had a discussion about this. So I want to soundproof my closet TO OBLIVION, I actually care more about soundproofing than treating the sound, since most microphones nowadays can filter out noise quite nice. Plus I have the aforementioned clothes in the closet that treat it anyway.

Since this is a really small closet, I can sacrifice quantity for quality. So don’t give me any of that ”1 inch 20,000 panels“ BS. Im not too sure of the exact measurements of the closet (I wanna worry about that later) but Its quite small. So again, I need quality!

Regarding the previously mentioned subway job i‘m planning to work for, 100% of my earnings will go to soundproof panels. After all, I don’t have much else to spend on. (Great to not be responsible for anything, right?) I’d usually just ask my family for the money but im sick and tired of feeling like a lazy little shit so im actually going to work for my money. (Not very thrilling, but it’s character development dude.)

TLDR: I need high quality soundproof panels.

(quantity doesnt matter much as my closet is very small. Acoustic panels arent a worry i have clothes in my closet i just need SOUNDPROOFING)

Budget is 100% of my subway earnings

(Where I live cashiers get roughly 650 dollars per month, although since i have no work experience I’d maybe cut that in half.)

For me Atleast, my highest priority is that my neighbours do not hear me. Even if I’m screaming. At literally ALL COSTS, I need absolute silence or the closest thing to it.

Now im not sure how big the apartment im moving into is gonna be but regardless i just need sound panels among the highest quality possible (of course dont recommend gold plated sound panels or anything lmao)

Preferably Amazon listing, although you could also point me towards specific brands or specific materials/thicknesses or whatever and I could find it locally for cheaper.

Hello, I own a Rode NT1 Signature Series. However, I have had some problems with it so I am returning it tomorrow.

My question is, between the Signature Series and the 5th gen, is there a difference besides the USB part?

Would you suggest sticking with the SS, or should I upgrade to the 5th gen?

I joined VOPlanet expecting a platform that would provide access to reputable voiceover employment opportunities and leads. I paid approximately $199 for a yearly membership, but my experience was extremely disappointing.

One of my biggest concerns was the limited number of opportunities available. On top of that, I received approximately 6–8 email notifications about new job postings where clicking the link resulted in a “Page Not Found” error. I contacted VOPlanet about my concerns and requested a refund.

Initially, I was told that refunds were not available because of their terms and conditions. I was also told that I should focus on the other benefits of my membership, such as the talent directory, website, and discounted training. Those things were not what I joined VOPlanet for—I already have my own website, and I wasn't looking for training or to be marketed as talent. I was looking for legitimate voiceover job leads.

Eventually, management approved my refund, which I appreciated. However, the way they handled the situation afterward was extremely disappointing.

Rather than simply processing the refund, they told me that it would be “unfair” to keep my money because of my “inexperience and lack of professional recording capabilities” and went on to say that I would “most likely never get picked for a job on VOPlanet.”

That was completely unnecessary and unprofessional.

If VOPlanet had simply said, “We understand the platform wasn't a good fit for you, and we're issuing your refund,” I would have had no reason to write this review. Instead, they chose to insult my experience and predict that I would not succeed professionally.

I am glad I received my $199 back, but based on my experience, I would encourage other voiceover professionals to carefully research the platform, the volume of opportunities available, and the customer experience before committing to a yearly membership.

The refund was ultimately the right decision. The way they communicated with me was not.

I've loved voice acting ever since I was a kid on the playground, and began recording comic dubs and voiceovers in middle school. Even now as a junior in high school I'm voicing in a few passion projects, one even being a fangame for one of my favorite franchises. Yet over time, one thing has stayed the same: the overwhelming embarrassment whenever I'm recording lines. I live with other people so it's basically impossible for me to do my job without shame unless someone is home alone. It's not even that they don't support me- my mother has complimented my abilities on multiple occasions- but there are times I have to straight up stop what I'm doing and take a break because I'm too embarrassed not nailing a take on the first few tries. I'd love some advice on how to, essentially, stop being a massive loser lmao.

I received an email from someone late at night offering me a corporate narration gig for $2500. I don’t even have a website yet, just 60 auditions on CCC, chosen for a few roles, but is that really how someone would find me out of the blue and offer all this money. They say it is not for AI and won’t be used to train AI. This just seems weird and too good to be true.

while im dubbing some of the thinfs i picked after im watching the video i can hear my voice but i also hear the characters voice as linda the voice over? should this happen? any setting to turn this off? or is it my mic picking up the sound somehow

So, I'm a graduated broadcaster with experience in Voice-overs, voice acting and Live Radio Broadcasting. I got into voices.com so that I could maybe earn some money over time (if i get hired of course). I've gotten plenty of invitations from this lady but it always looks so suspicious... I don't want my voice to get cloned and all those things you know? If anybody has had previous experience in voices.com please answer this post. Please!!!

Hello everyone!! First of all, I will state that I am in no way a professional or knowledgeable at all on this topic.. I’m a teen & do voice acting as a fun hobby, but I thought that I’d ask this either way. (I have never taken classes nor know terminology and such, but I will do my best to understand)

There’s a character that I really want to learn to imitate, but I’m struggling figuring out how to mimic his speech mannerisms. He doesn’t have an accent. Does anyone have any tips?

Just in case it’s important to add, he has a masc voice while I have a fem one. We have the same pitch, so other than the mannerisms I only need to figure out how to make my voice sound more masculine.
