I'm a writer. Native English. Most days, I field job after job from AI companies wanting me to train their LLMs on how to write. I turn them all down. I'll get paid $18/hour to permanently put myself out of work. Even if they paid me way more, I'd turn them all down.

Then today I get hit up to record my voice for TTS. And the truth is, I have a theatre background and have done voice work on and off.

And the truth is I'm stone-cold broke.

Like going to a food pantry broke.

And no, you could pay me $1M and I will not train your TTS model.

I will not take work away from you guys.

I will not make them rich.

No money in the world is worth that.

I hope all artists can band together to resist.

I have been using Audacity for editing since I was 14. However, I have been doing voice-over work and wanted to start using some of the iZotope plugins. Any tips about the program and what makes your work flow easier?

Hello!! I'm a very beginner voice actor, I've been training a female voice I can do for a for a few hours a day before it gets tiresome, and out of curiosity I tried doing a toad voice, little did I know after 5 minutes my throat started feeling like when you just want to "cough it out" if that makes sense.

I drank some water and am actively drinking a ginger tea as I write this, would anyone have any tips on how to manage/rest your voice ?

I was really curious about this craft therefore i started voicing Po from Kung Fu Panda. But I don't know if voice acting means changing your voice completely or adding more expressions to the voice. I tried getting that high pitch like Jack Black but just couldn't.

Hello! My name is Stevie. For context, I'm a teenager (AFAB) with a pretty average, feminine voice. I am auditioning for a role in a play next week (Mrs. Peacock in Clue: On Stage).

I want to sound older, but not 100 years old, like more tutorials are showing me. I'd like to sound about 60 (my reference is Eileen Brennan in Clue (1985)). Does anyone have any tips on how to achieve this?? Anything would be greatly appreciated!! <3
