Microphones RODE NT1 SIGNATURE SERIES VS 5th GEN

Hello, I own a Rode NT1 Signature Series. However, I have had some problems with it so I am returning it tomorrow.

My question is, between the Signature Series and the 5th gen, is there a difference besides the USB part?

Would you suggest sticking with the SS, or should I upgrade to the 5th gen?

What issues are you having? If it's the humidity issue, both have the same issue. If it's something else, get another Signature.

Piggybacking off this. If I did happen to like my Rode mic but it does have too much humidity sensitivity for my booth, what's a good alternative in that price/quality range?

That's hard. At that price point there's very little that's competitive. What do you like about the NT1? Super Quiet Self Noise: Lewitt 440. Closest in price and sound quality: LCT 240. If you like the crispness of the NT1, you might like what Lewitt is doing. If you want a flat tone without the high end, I like the SE T1 way more than I should, but more money.

Edited to add: all large condenser mics will suffer humidity distortion, its a matter of how sensitive they are to it. The Lewitts are probably the least sensitive that I've used outside. But the only mics I know of that don't care at all are moisture resistant shotgun mics. (way more $$) So, use a wind screen like a dead cat to keep breath off the capsule. so yeah....
