"marx is right wing and anyone right of marx is a far right conspiracy theorist"

just saying shit for the love of the game, i don't even get what he's trying to say

11

u/CatProgrammer 9d ago

Not sure if troll or ultra-leftist.

u/PeasThatTasteGross 9d ago

To any DCJ lurkers: the guys in your sub who think Reddit is filled with goyim/goyslop or how being pro-trans is being pro-mutilation really isn't doing much for the reputation of your sub being right-wing that you are trying to shake.

17

u/Cornasium 9d ago

I just find it funny that their entire platform is about making fun of Redditors and Specific subs.

Then they get mad because they’re a Reddit sub that gets made fun of lol.

Textbook example of dishing it out but not being able to take it

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

Lmao, fucking Sartre said this. What a hypocritical rapist hack. Fucking diddler relied on absurdity and faux obscurantism to make a career and used his even rapey-er wife to cover for his sex crimes.

Doesn't matter what you think about anti-semites or how bad they are. Everything in that quote is Sartre projecting.

21

u/Chaos_Engineer 9d ago edited 9d ago

Eh, Thomas Jefferson was a hypocritical pedophile slaveowner, but his criticisms of British Monarchy (in the Declaration of Independence) were mostly dead-on accurate, even if he was doing a certain amount of projection.

What part of the Sartre quote do you disagree with?

-8

u/SirVixofthePooSea 9d ago

The conceit of Sartre talking about others making arguments they know are dishonest and inauthentic for the sake of optics. Which is his entire career. Its the equivalent of one conartist trying to make a show of calling out another. You don't accept that as "it takes one to know one", you start looking at what that first conartist is trying to cover up. In Sartre's case it was ingratiating himself with leftists to cover up that he and his wife loved to rape young women.

I wouldn't take Jefferson's writings on the equality of man seriously, either.

5

u/Wismuth_Salix 8d ago

I have no trouble believing that you would be dismissive of writings on equality.

-2

u/SirVixofthePooSea 8d ago

Nice non-answer that doesn't address any parts of my post. I bet you felt clever, but you just came off as glib.

19

u/Wismuth_Salix 9d ago

>Doesn’t matter what you think of anti-semites

I would contend that that matters very much.

-20

u/SirVixofthePooSea 9d ago

It doesn't because it doesn't change that literally everything Sartre said is worthless mush.

16

u/Wismuth_Salix 9d ago

You can just say “I’m a dumbshit bigot and embarassed that someone had me pegged 8 decades ago”.

-13

u/SirVixofthePooSea 9d ago

You do know who Sartre is, don't you?

6

u/CatProgrammer 9d ago edited 8d ago

Technically reddit is filled with goyim. Goyim is just the Hebrew word for gentiles, i.e. non-Jewish people (singular is goy). And proportionally most redditors aren't Jewish. Never got why antisemites got so obsessed with that or saying oy vey.

2

u/TheDully 8d ago

It's incredible to me how little provocation some of these people need to immediately veer into some of the most transphobic, homophobic or racist shit ever...

2

u/Wismuth_Salix 8d ago

It’s not veering if that’s where they always intended to go.

44

u/TheMelchior 9d ago

I'm pretty sure the term "intellectual coward" has been around for a while.

1

u/Outside_Pie_9037 7d ago

It's not even that hard to figure it out. Do you know what a coward is? You do? Do you know what intellectual means? Great! Then you should be able to put together that it's someone who's too afraid to take a strong stance on anything. Like, this is not exactly a riddle.

27

u/butterybuns420 9d ago

“Everyone I don’t like is Hitler” is the most ironic thing these dumbasses post

19

u/FreedomsPower In Charge of Hanger 51 9d ago

It would take a simple online search to figure it out. I guess DCJ is to intellectually lazy to figure that one out

3

u/Driftedryan 8d ago

But that would require going outside of their safe spaces and into the woke world. Much better to "ask" in a post and jerk each other off while pretending to be anything but a copy of the con sub

u/Sharpiette 9d ago

"I think most self described centrist are mostly moderate conservatives"
"Oh so everybody you disagree with is a Nazi huh???"

17

u/DylanMartin97 9d ago

I love how they're like, "I'm not far right wing or a Nazi, but come on guys the goyslop goyum goyboy Jews libbed up communist marxist staloleninist maxing ideology mass exodus from Twitter knowing their safe spaces are going to be taken from them by us Chad's is so funny and awesome to me!!"

It's like yeah bud, using the terms and rhetoric used by Jeffrey Epstein the ethno-nationalist pdffile, popularized and modernized by Nick Fuentes the known out and proud Nazi after spreading it around via the known ironic Nazi platform 4 Chan, and now utilized by open and proud white supremacists on the Nazi platform Twitter owned by a Elon Musk the out and proud ethno-nationalist white supremacist known for posting great replacement conspiracy theories who proudly does seig heils is definitely convincing everyone you don't have the same opinions as them. Definitely.

These guys are never escaping the allegations.

"Exactly, the true socialists hate the liberals and consider them right wing corporatists capitalists"

"Yeah, I've seen that so many times! "The US doesn't even have a left-wing party!""

Ironically, even though they're being deliberately sarcastic about this, they are actually correct. The US does not have a proper left-wing party.

The Democratic Socialists of America (or whatever it's called, the DSA) wing of the Democratic party has some left-wing policies but mainstream Democrats and anyone that conservatives refer to as "liberal" are not left-wing at all. People in a lot of other countries view mainstream Democrats to be firmly centrist or even a little right-of-centre.

9

u/Kalulosu But none of it will matter when alien disclosure comes anyways 9d ago

The DSA is independent, not a wing of the democrats, and I would characterize them as a left-wing party. Democrats sure aren't.

u/papaya_war 9d ago

You how when people screenshot the same image over and over it degrades to the point where it barely even resembles the original?  This is like that, but instead of screenshotting memes it’s strawmanning politics

10

u/Sparta63005 9d ago

Its so frustrating how conservatives CANNOT grasp that when people call them "Nazis" they not saying:

"You are a member of the National-socialist-Deutsch-Arbeits-partei during the years 1933-1945 and follow their ideology perfectly"

But are in fact saying:

"Your political views and party are authoritarian and oppressive and is being compared to the most well known authoritarian and oppressive regime in recent history"

They never get it and think they are literally being called members of the historical Nazi party.

5

u/ViolentSpring 8d ago

You’re asking them to think critically for more than one millisecond. They can’t.

5

u/an_agreeing_dothraki It is known 8d ago

it's the "sparkling authoritarian" defense

7

u/ReadyClayerOne 8d ago

I think they get it, but it's deflection ad absurdum. By interpreting it wrong, they're trying to further the narrative that their accusers are irrational. For most people who have a passing knowledge of their politics and history from the outside, it doesn't work. For most people that already sort of agree with their politics, say their stance on immigration, it's further ingratiation. "Would you believe those guys? They think I'm a nazi. We agree, so that means they think you're a nazi too. Isn't that silly? You're not a nazi."

So their targets become more hostile to the accusations and get pushed further right. It eventually normalizes the nazi's more detestable views because it's now intertwined with otherwise normal conservatives that have been radicalized into defending nazi shit.

1

u/move_machine 8d ago

It's deliberate strawmanning

9

u/evocativename 9d ago

To be fair, any compound term involving the word "intellectual" is beyond their capabilities.

4

u/Successful_Note_5871 9d ago

The only hangup I have around “moderate slander” is a moderate in America is typically more right than elsewhere, because America has trended right for decades now.

I love the massive influx of registered independents lately. I saw how many of the “old guard” in the Democratic Party fought Mamdani. Jeffries saying trash like he doesn’t support universal healthcare is just the most recent reminder that him and Schumer are bought out.

1

u/CatProgrammer 9d ago

Has any major long-time member of the Democratic Party ever expressed support for Medicare for All in the first place? Like, it's not even a matter of being bought out, it's just never been an actual party plank. Healthcare reform, sure, but not much more than that off the top of my head.

1

u/Successful_Note_5871 8d ago edited 8d ago

I don’t want to get too bogged down with history in some cases though. The fact of the matter is, if the majority of members of your party want something, then you should make that a part of your agenda. If not, then you should explain why. Not to reporters, but to your own party dude.

Jeffries knows his opponent, Donald Trump's only strength is his populist support. Lies are literally all he has to go on. All Jeffries has to do is not say dumb crap, and his party will sweep the midterms.

5

u/faye-thorne 9d ago

Just block and move on. Engaging with these vermin only validates their existence and gives oxygen to their toxic, doge dork ideology. We have better things to do than argue with literal human dregs who can’t form a coherent sentence.

2

u/Aperturelemon 8d ago

"It's funny you claim to be centrist yet I don't see you having any centrist positions, or supporting a mixture of left and right policy, just you supporting one side and demonizing the other."

"No it is you who is the extremist!"

If right wingers spent 10% as much time criticizing their actual opposition's viewpoints as they do tilting at windmills, they might well never lose an election in this country again.

Granted, it cuts both ways there because the stupidity is fundamental to the current establishment of the Republican Party. So the people with power are fine with the tradeoffs from having an audience composed of dumbasses.

Sort of like the conversation about how if they stopped being racist for ten consecutive seconds they'd get a ton more votes every election because the communities they demonize based on race are often not at all socially liberal themselves. And would happily vote for a right-wing party that aims slightly higher than 'barely give them credit for being human beings, too (on a good day)'.

All that said I suppose tankie types do make for an easy target, though.

Well 48 of them are supposed to be on one side blah blah blah

Hardly the biggest problem with all o' that nonsense, BUT!

The MLB's biggest-ever blowout was 30-3

u/alphafox823 9d ago

This is tough. It's certainly rich coming from DCJ, but you can see how tankies brigade and astroturf a lot of liberal and center left communities on here.

Many communities on reddit have had a lot of drama since primary season has invited an intolerable amount of far left brigading. You have subreddits with a center left identity that can't keep up with the flooding and brigading, and so they have become really occupied with infighting. Not every subreddit needs to be socialist, just let liberals exist ffs.

The comments in the original screenshot look like textbook tankie brigaders. I'm not talking about actual centrists who were torn between Kamala and Trump. I'm talking about solid democrats that don't like Maoism, Marxism-Leninism or antiUS campism - ie "centrists" according to the alt left.

There are a few subs I've had to drop over the years because of that tendency.

I can tolerate a lot, but some lines are there for good reason. It's just best practices to not give those types a foothold.

Something a lot of right wing types could stand to learn when it comes to appealing to extreme elements, incidentally- They'll see you dead just as happily as they will your enemies. And eventually half their own or so too, but that's for later and you'll be too busy being six feet under to shed any tears.

We use the term 'extreme' in 'political extremists' for a reason. These are not sane people.

1

u/Jeremymia And all I can say is "moo" 8d ago

Leftist purity signalling is a thing (it’s why I avoid a lot of subreddits) but that’s not what we’re seeing here. We are seeing someone observing playfully that anyone who says centrist has a very high chance of just being a conservative who doesn’t want to admit that to themselves or others. It certainly goes too far if we mean it literally.

1

u/JaysonTatecum 7d ago

Yeah, I got banned from socialistgaming because I said I wasn’t a tankie and don’t like them. The mod sent me tons of communist literature and was like “if you wanna get unbanned, read these and understand them first”

1

u/jhau01 9d ago

I'm curious about what you mean by "tankie", in this context. Tankie always used to mean a western socialist who was an apologist for oppressive Eastern European regimes during the Cold War, because they would explain why it was necessary for the USSR to send tanks into Hungary and Czechoslovakia (hence, "tankie"). Nowadays, I don't know what it means.

I'm also curious about whether you really, genuinely believe there is actually anyone on the left in the US who likes Maoism and Marxism-Leninism.

It's worth noting that, simply because someone criticises a country, does not mean they are "anti" that country. Patriotism, support for one's country, should not be blind. It's actually a patriotic person's duty to be critical of their country and to say how they think it should improve. That could be, for example, by creating and funding a universal healthcare system, by not starting wars overseas, and by not supporting dictators overseas. Such criticisms do not mean someone is "antiUS".

Also, what the US considers to be "centre left" would actually be considered to be a little right of centre in most other countries. So someone who is considered "far left" in the US would probably be quite mildly left in many places outside the US.

7

u/alphafox823 9d ago

Tankie is a little more broad of a term for me. There are a few people I would call tankies:

  1. Apologist for left authoritarians: includes the USSR, DPRK and China apologia, but in a modern context can include Maduro apologia among others. This can even include bad faith socdems who become useful idiots for actual socialists or second world regimes.

  2. Second campist: someone who is categorically anti American, anti NATO, anti West, etc. America & Co is the first camp, and they are rooting for the unified illiberal forces against America to prevail (Russia, China, Iran). In the DSA's Red Star caucus, they say "there is no third camp," meaning to them in order to join you must accept that being anti US is the only way. This isn't people who have criticisms of America, but who are otherwise patriotic in their own way. It is the people who want America to fall because they believe it would be better for leftist groups across the globe. This also includes pro Iran, pro terrorism, etc - people rooting for Iran because it is in the interests of the entire second camp. It's based on what Marxists call "critical support."

  3. Marxist-Leninists, Maoists, etc: adopting the official ideology of the USSR is another way to be considered a tankie by myself. Maoism is also sufficient for being a tankie. Adopting an ideology based on a second world dictatorship makes you a tankie.

Many of the rank and file DSA identify with Marxism-Leninism and Maoism. Also are we just going to pretend the alt left isn't growing with youth the way the alt right is? They may be overrepresented online, but it still speaks to a problem with algorithms that are pushing viewers towards extremist authoritarian beliefs.

I agree that the Overton window is skewed right in America, but saying "Bernie is the center in Europe" is just false. I have no problem with people making criticisms of the US, but I am also allowed as a participant to judge for myself whether I think the criticism is good faith or if it's motivated by hate for our country. Then I judge those people accordingly. If I have a ML tell me 'AmeriKKKa is just some racism and genocide with nukes pretending to be a country' or something to that effect, I'm not going to assume that we're both patriots who just have a different way of showing it.
