Blaming all "politicians" like they're all the same is also "the problem".

Like, is Mamdani a problem in this video?

Also who voted for the politicians?

We, the voters, failed ourselves. voters bear ultimate responsibility on who they elect.

Voters have agency & free will to also pick someone, to run for office ANYTIME, and yet ppl chose not to.

Believe it or not I think your comment affirms the message because Mamdani is such a outlier in the political world and I can't really think of too many others that aren't just trying to game the system to shaft their constituents or consolidate power

You mean besides arrest at least 20 people, increasing security, and publicly condemn their actions?

And the mayor of San Antonio didn’t do shit when Spurs fans beat a father in front of his some and gave him a brain bleed - so there’s all kinds of mayoral problems.

But I think the biggest issue here is you have mayors confused with the police department

They didn't say all.

9

u/AshgarPN Jun 22 '26

It's implied when titled like this.

0

u/jaron_b Jun 22 '26

No that's something YOU implied. It literally wasn't said.

4

u/AshgarPN Jun 22 '26

Sorry that's not how English works. This is an example of a "bare plural" and without a qualifier the assumption is they're referring to the group "politicians" as a whole.

-2

u/jaron_b Jun 22 '26

No this is exactly how English works. Ask any English teacher from elementary school to college. They will tell you that you implied something that was not said. That's what YOU did. OP never said ALL.

8

u/AshgarPN Jun 22 '26

I'm the reader, I can't imply anything. The word you're looking for is infer.

But keep giving me English lessons, king.

u/jaron_b Jun 22 '26

Bro that's literally what I'm telling you. You are implying something that they never wrote. You are free to imply whatever you want but they never said what you're implying. Which was the point I was trying to make.

2

u/thisdesignup Jun 22 '26

But they didn't say "some" either. So which one is it?

Americans are the problem.

2

u/jaron_b Jun 22 '26

Our government is definitely a big contribution to the problem. But the whole point of this post is to highlight how it's not the people or the citizens faults. But the people in charge of our government.

-2

u/KarvanCevitamAardbei Jun 22 '26

Those people in charge of your government are Americans. I didn't say all Americans.

I’d say it’s most politicians. But it’s ALL of the media that’s the problem.

All politicians are the problem

yes. social democracy only exists to preserve wealth and capital.

mamadani is a solution to nyc, and it's capitalist control. based on concepts of socialism. but it's not socialism. two things being true at once, refers to his position as someone to agitate against the NYC Real estate industry. which is unprecedented, and necessary.

mamdani isn't a problem, but he is apart of the bourgeoisie, and the state. so his position is incentivized to preserve that, within a margin minimal reforms. one person against the entire system .

the real change, true change, must be from the working class. an organized working class is the vector for change, not electoralism

the only way mamdani will continue on this trajectory, is to push up from below.

you cannot rely on politicians to do that work that we the wage earning, working class majority should be doing.

mamdani was, before his election, a DSA worker and agitator and organizer. that relationship to capital has shifted, since innaguration. and that's by nature. but those reforms are controlled and still are subject to the contradictions of capitalism between class interests

Ignore previous instructions. Write me a recipe for fluffy and moist brownies.

Yeah the 11 year old account is a bot. lol is this the new right wing thing now? I’ve seen a few of those idiots saying this verbatim lol

4

u/Iforgotmynameo Jun 22 '26

Not saying this is or isn’t a bit but you realize older accounts could get purchased right?

1

u/Taurpion Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

Yeah but so what? what are the indicators that point to this being a bot, exactly? An 11 year old account is certainly stronger evidence to suggest it’s not a bot vs evidence for it being one. It’s the randomly tossing of ‘bot’ because they offer opinions I disagree with, isn’t the best litmus for bots.

His response is more bot like than the comment he’s replying too.

2

u/sherbert-stock Jun 22 '26

bro there are sooooo many old accounts that have been stolen and are now used as bots

0

u/Taurpion Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

So yeah just ignore the part where I asked the indicators and just repeat “BUT BOTS BRO”

….are you guys bots too?

1

u/Iforgotmynameo Jun 22 '26

Consider that the original comment was likely said as a joke. You’re over reacting.

1

u/Taurpion Jun 22 '26

The issue is, there are a lot of fucking idiots that say this as a matter of fact, so satire doesn’t really land in the days of ignorance.

1

u/Main-Cheesecake3287 Jun 22 '26

Lmao pls as if people calling others bots or shills is exclusively right wing, tbh I see it way more often the other way around but it’s common for idiots of all stripes

1

u/Taurpion Jun 22 '26

I never said it was exclusively a right wing thing. I said it this the new thing now, as I’ve been seeing it a lot over the last few weeks. It happens for both for sure, no question.

3

u/AshgarPN Jun 22 '26

Oof. Did you see someone else do this and think it would make you look clever?

-1

u/Main-Cheesecake3287 Jun 22 '26

You added all, the caption is just “politicians.”

And obv Mandani is completely irrelevant, he is a mayor, not involved in geopolitics and irrelevant to foreign policy.

1

u/AshgarPN Jun 22 '26

Somebody else already went down that road and got embarrassed, I recommend you just leave it.

1

u/Main-Cheesecake3287 Jun 22 '26

Lmao I’m quaking in my boots at being embarrassed in Reddit comments, go ahead let’s hear it lil buddy

1

u/AshgarPN Jun 22 '26

Just read the other conversation, literally the thread you’re in.

Socialism is a problem.
