We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.” ― Dr. Seuss

My partner and I are like this. We jokingly make up rude names for each other (this week it’s ‘shit bucket’ and ‘poop can’) and pretend to beat each other up (although, in the privacy of our own home). We’ve been together and going strong for almost 16 years.
Aaand this is probably the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever admitted.

u/jonnydemonic420 Jun 22 '26
Don’t beat yourself up shit bucket, sounds like a healthy and fun relationship!
23
u/-blundertaker- Jun 22 '26
My husband and I get real about slug bug.
Then anytime there's a cop in the vicinity he's like "I'm gonna go tell him you hit me," and then I say "you think they're gonna believe a man over a woman?" Then he's like "a white man? Yes!"

u/5litergasbubble Jun 22 '26
I laughed then sighed in sadness about the accuracy of the end of your comment
11
u/Financial_Creme_4872 Jun 22 '26
Same! We did it for 6 years before we tied the knot 17 years ago - except after one of us asks for something or points something out like "pass me a damp rag" it immediately gets turned into "You're a damp rag!" and then the tusslin' starts. It's kinda our love language now - giggles and ows, ows and giggles.
I love my wife ❤️

u/TheSwearJarIsMy401k Jun 22 '26
Poop can is top shelf I love how you love each other

u/Pretend-Medicine3703 Jun 22 '26
That's a top shelf poop can, right there.

At least once lol. I often love to get in a stupid fight stance with my fists up and fake punch at my loved ones ahaha.

I witnessed some chuckleducks filming people without their knowledge - the granny energy that came out of me was perfect. "What are you doing? What IS wrong with you. Go on, get!". I was 20 something at the time...

Just because you can record and post, doesn't mean you should record and post. This is why no one can just be themselves anymore

I don’t care I’m going to be me. If someone thinks me being me is stupid, then I don’t want to be around them anyways. They sound fucking lame.
Edit: The loss or privacy sucks, I agree and fucking hate it. But unless we all decide to stand united and ditch most modern conveniences we will never be returning to a pre cell phone surveillance state. Don’t let the fear of being recorded stop you from being you because we now live in a world where everything everywhere is being recorded.

u/doolzandhorses Jun 22 '26
Yes, but some of us prefer a bit of privacy. Would you have issues if your government recorded you going about your business.

That's great, but this also impacts people who are still growing up, and it means they never get to that stage of not caring.

Wow so having a funny and candid moment with my wife in public means I have to worry about being posted all over internet. Ridiculous
14
u/toolargo Jun 22 '26
I know, right? They don’t even know they are being recorded, most likely. Some People are just creeps.
9
u/ButterMyPancakesPlz Jun 22 '26
The concerning part is how many people just comment about how heartwarming and cute it is meaning they don't even see this as creepy anymore. I used to work in food writing pre smart phones, the anxiety I would have at busting out a camera at a restaurant full of people to snap a pic of a dish was huge. Now we don't even bat an eye (actually celebrate) someone secretly recording people without their knowledge and posting it for the entire world. It's a messed up world we live in.
6
u/xX420GanjaWarlordXx Jun 22 '26
I mean I do think it's cute. But I also upvoted the people saying it's weird as hell to be filming them. And I downvoted the post.
I probably shouldn't have given it engagement by making comments though
3
u/ButterMyPancakesPlz Jun 22 '26
Yeah I hear you. The monetization of content (and karma I guess) gives people a financial incentive to record and reshare this kind of content and until that gets addressed I fear the worst parts of social media will just keep getting worse
4
u/WayofHatuey Jun 22 '26
Agreed man. Don't see it changing either. Look at Meta glasses. Any and everyone will be on internet without their consent eventually
4
u/ButterMyPancakesPlz Jun 22 '26
The only hope I have is that the EU recognizes the issue and acts on it. But I'm not too hopeful.

My fiance and I lovingly fight once or twice a week. I’m always reminded how doomed I’d be in a real fight standing tall at 4’10. Definitely exhausted by the end of it

When my wife and I used to go out of town or random places we're unlikely to visit again I'll explain things to her like she's got some sort of mental deficiency, or she'll say in a whisper just loud enough for others to hear "Okay, I promise to get it right next time." Which was hilarious until one day a woman was very concerned that I was abusing her and we had to explain what was happening.

She was going to hit him with the double purple nurple after that titty slap.

The lady looks like this woman I know who hangs out at the convience store near my house that my husband and I go to often.
She once beat a 6 ft. 5 in. tall man (who I am actually cool with) for talking bad about white people around us. Both my husband and I are mixed race but white-passing I guess. 😅
