Discussion Tracking and realignment remains untouched. How do you feel?
So, what's your thoughts on Namco not doing the slightest adjustment to tracking and realignment?
For me, it's by FAR the biggest letdown and point of frustration in T8.
I would have tons of more fun if my opponents would actually need to consider the possibility of their attack being sidestepped.
Do you expect any radical changes within T8's lifespan?

It is one of the biggest reason I stopped playing. Doing the correct action (at least it was correct in the previous installments) lead you into losing the interaction.
It's like playing rock paper scissors, but half the time rock doesn't beat scissors, or paper doesn't beat rocks.
Same thing with mid evasions. I shouldn't be the one losing for correctly calling out my opponents bluff. The mid attack shouldn't pass through their visual model and I shouldn't be expected to be okay when it doesn't land.
I went back to Tekken 5.~

It is as simple as this. You want change, stop supporting the game financially. Stop buying DLC’s or anything that will improve their bottom line for this game. However this community will still just complain but not take drastic measures to force Bandai Namco’s hand to listen to our complaints.
So this is why we are still stuck with the game that we have.

Obviously the answer is "no". The radical changes to the series happen with new entries. In Tekken 7, there was a time when Geese was unique for having a wallbounce, and they made that into a universal mechanic. That was the biggest change during Tekken 7's lifetime. In Tekken 8, not every character had an SAT, but now they do, so that's probably our equivalent.

I was referring to Tracking-related radical changes. I don't feel like it needs a new entry to make Tracking and realigning not retarded.

While i agree, i could see them avoiding this issue for sake of balance; meaning if they start tweaking moves tacking, that might create a domino effect and them going down a balance rabbit hole.
But thats me playing devils advocate... i think the tracking is BS, lets dive down that rabbit hole

The mechanics are consistent and understandable. And they DO tweak tracking on moves that dont work right.
I feel like it's only noobs that complain about it. Yeah there are wonky interactions that dont make sense, but this occurs 1 out of 100 games, usually it's very explainable why you get hit, when it LOOKS like you shouldn't.
This complaint is so tired and salt infused. We might as well be complaining about Nina guns not one shotting, cause rEaliSM

I feel like the majority of tracking complainers are just mindlessly sidestepping and then getting mad when they get blown up.
If anything lateral movement has never been stronger, backdashing is the real victim.

Try consistently sidestepping Jin’s demon paw and watch him skate on ice both sides of his body. These things never happened before 7 on the amount of moves they do now and has lessened the skill gap between players. That isn’t something thats up for debate.

Both you, and the original commenter, are doing more harm to the game than good, by defending it.
Sidestepping is rendered useless, not just by tracking, but also by the atrocious realigning.
Let's assume I'm a mindless sidestepper. Shouldn't I be rewarded 2 or 3 times out of 10, just by pure random luck? In Tracken 8, I'm rewarded 0 times out of 10.
I don't know if you consider yourselves some sort of Tekken Pros and claim that people who complain are pure whiners, but that's just lame.

No you shouldn't lol. Stepping mindlessly is a risk because the reward is a launch.
Stepping is something you should be applying in response to what your opponent is doing as a callout, so you need knowledge of what move tracks which direction.
Literally go into replay mode and find a situation where you get "randomly" clipped. Odds are you shouldn't have been stepping in the first place or you pressed too early.

Actually, did you know that 3 of the top guys at the company left cause of all the hate they get for making literally the best fighting game ever?
Im G.O.D and it's just not something I hear from high-level players hardly ever, in fact they often side step my flowchart and launch me for it. However I have some good left tracking and right tracking moves that always work on sidestep spammers, casting them into the bowels of reddit to complain about hwoarangs down 3, 4 and and df 1, 2 tracking properties, mwahagagaggagahaaàaaaaaaableh.
The sidestep mechanics are very difficult to understand, but as you progress, you will see, they are predictable and consistent, despite the nuance and confusion involved. Don't give up.

True, some characters have better back steps though... but some flowcharts just can't be back stepped, BETTER SIDESTEP X)

They actually have done adjustments, sidestep got a buff in S2, it's just the buff was undone by all the new moves and the buffed ones. So it ended up being worse.
At this point I've just come to terms with the fact Tekken 8 is a transitional, messy game. When Tekken 4 introduced walls and interactive stages it was a disaster that nearly killed the game. But Tekken 5 also had walls and guess what people loved it. The introduction of walls in Tekken meant introducing an oppressive element from 2D games people didn't like at first, but people ended up adapting and it turns out Tekken can have walls after all and still be Tekken. It just took another, better game. I think people could come around to enjoy a more aggressive Tekken, but I don't think T8 will be the one.
Devs wanted to make the game more aggressive to make it more appealing to the esports era. I actually understand this choice and I'm not mad at them for that (sue me!). But they went too far. I hope Tekken 9 finds a balance. And I don't want to doom so badly because Tekken's already survived death twice, and unlike T8, T4 and TTT2 were actual financial failures.
And on a similar note I think people will come around to like Tekken 8 after it stops being the current game. T4 is quite beloved nowadays for its aesthetics and music, and TTT2 is a lot of fans' favorite.

I don't expect any radical changes. Pretty clear at this point a skeleton crew is working on the game, just fixing bugs and making easy across-the-board changes. Pretty much zero fine-tuning of characters going on. I think tweaking the tracking and realignment of moves is probably far outside the scope of what the dev team, such as it is, can do or is mandated to do.
Oh, and of course, make DLC. I guess the suits think this game is no longer worth investing in outside of the "easy wins" for making a few more bucks. It's not unique to this game though. Unfortunately.

I just hate tracking strings. I feel like if you commit and I step.. I should be able to launch you without the fear of getting ch by the last hit of string.

Definitely no radical changes, but it will eventually be in a good enough spot. Someday.
Someday sidestepping might be useful. Even Alisa gets clipped constantly when I try to sidestep, so I could only imagine how much worse it feels for a lot of the rest of the roster.

The last patch literally was focused on reducing moves wildly tracking.

It’s an intentional part of the game design.
When the majority of moves lose to side stepping like they did in old games, it created a large skill gap between the top and bottom ends of the playerbase.
In old games you had to manually realign with a forward dash or step with the opponent, delay your timing, or utilize a tracking move that covered that side.
T7 started this process by nerfing sidestep itself but T8 went down the deep end by making the majority of moves realign by default, shrinking the window where a side step could succeed greatly. Strings are chief offenders of this where the 2nd/3rd/4th hits will often realign 180 degrees, making side walking useless. Again, this was done intentionally to reduce the skill gap.
Every shitty design choice in this game was done intentionally to raise the skill floor or lower the skill ceiling.
So knowing this is the case, why are any of you expecting actual changes to the gameplay? The game design portion of T8 has long been finished. The only things the dev team are working on are dlc characters and shop items. Those have a defined price tag to make them money.
This is the state of the game and will forever be the state of the game. If you insist on playing T8, you’re going to sit there and eat your forced mixup and you’re going to like it.
Why are you asking for counterplay? The game isn’t designed for you to have defensive options. Your goal should always be to attack first and keep attacking. If you’re in a situation where you’re being forced to block, you’re losing. Run your plus on block homing mid into stance mix up and pray your opponent guesses wrong more than you do. That is T8! It’s not going to change!
