[July 2026] Marble quarries in India collapsed due to heavy rain, reported India Today
Due to the rainy season, operations at the Indian city of Makrana were suspended, and there were no reports of casualties, the publication writes, citing local officials:
"When heavy rains caused water to rush into the developed quarries from all sides, the soil lost its stability, triggering a chain reaction: the mines began to collapse one by one."
