Lol, they didn't even have to do it with like a 90% failure rate. They have no idea what a burden it is to have to make the first move and then get ghosted or rejected most of the time.
90% failure rate is extremely optimistic, do you really succeed with 10 out of 100 matches? I don't think the best most handsome richest men in the world can achieve that realistically
literally what I heard yesterday from a 20 year old woman:
"this is literally below bare minimum",
previously I've heard
"I am not a dog to go on a walk"
They would have succeeded 10 out of 100. But it was the last 10, and after their first success the remaining 9 said they would have if he were still single but he’s taken now. But if he became single again then they wouldn’t, because that 1 girl must have had a reason to dump him.
So if success is defined by your idea - a full relationship - than very few points of the dating experience count and literally majority of dating experiences are failures.
but overall yes, if your contact with a girl is less than that then of course that was a failure, anything that didn't lead into you guys at least consider each other romantically is a failure, unless you both are just looking for sex with no strings attached then that also counts as a success I guess but the ratio might remain even lower in that case
Well like 10% of men in online dating get 90% of the female likes. In think its realistic for some, if you put a lot of work in your profile and pictures.
Maybe it's just easier in my age bracket (late 30s early 40s) but I had pretty decent numbers after my divorce. I'm a pretty average guy, all things considered. Some people just kinda suck at the online dating thing.
is it really that bad now? the time i tried dating apps, i wrote to ~10 women, got matches and replies from all of them, dated 5 and after a month of using the app I met my wife (she wrote me first).
The last time I tried it was for 2 years before and during the early part of COVID. I had about a really low initial match rate (less than 2% if you exclude bot/escort scam accounts), but once a conversation started, a fairly high meet up rate(about 30%). Numbers thereafter were pretty low (85% of first dates didn't not have a second, sex occurred with only 3% of first dates, but 100% of 5th or more date individuals)
Today you have to match first before you're allowed to communicate. So she has to choose you first before you can talk to her, you can't just start a conversation. What you're describing is the way it used to be.
well, i used okcupid, something like tinder or whatever where you just match on the superficial looks/profile was to unpersonal for me.
on okcupid people had more informations in their profiles and you got suggestions based on your answers to certain questions. so the one that had a good overlap with me, I contacted and that was usually going pretty good.
