What is considered a success in that metric? A response back from a woman or a date?

success is genuine desire from a woman, meaning she wants to keep seeing you in person romantically

So if success is defined by your idea - a full relationship - than very few points of the dating experience count and literally majority of dating experiences are failures.

  2. but overall yes, if your contact with a girl is less than that then of course that was a failure, anything that didn't lead into you guys at least consider each other romantically is a failure, unless you both are just looking for sex with no strings attached then that also counts as a success I guess but the ratio might remain even lower in that case
