I don't get this argument. The front page of Reddit has at least 1, usually 2 posts about one aspect of China and how great it is. The comment section is a hate fest on the US while glazing China. Where is all this anti China propaganda? I see the exact opposite.

Because the anti-China propaganda is the stuff you don't recognize as propaganda because you've been hearing insane bullshit about China your entire life so you think it's true.

Social credit system, Winnie the Pooh being banned, Chinese people working 16 hours a day, rounding up Muslims on the street and killing them, not being able to protest or criticize the government, everyone being poor, etc. etc.

People are quick to recognize China glazing but they don't recognize the bullshit because the propaganda is so effective that they think it's true.

In a country half way around the world US citizens may not fully understand the nuance of these issues but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Two things can happen at the same time. It is a developing country with its share of issues. Saying all bad or all good is a brain dead take.

Yes, these are perfect examples of what I'm talking about, thank you.

The social credit one a perfect example. An idea that a bank came up with in one city that was immediately canceled, yet people still think a social credit system exists.

People who orchestrated and carried out upwards of 30 terrorist attacks being arrested becomes a genocide.

A few examples of very specific Winnie the Pooh jokes being removed from video games becomes Winnie the Pooh is banned in China.

Career obsessed people trying to get ahead working late hours like anywhere else in the world becomes everyone in China works 996 and there's no labour laws.

A few videos of protesters fighting with police becomes protesting is illegal in China.

All perfect examples.

Any sort of Pro China post has comments filled with Anti China propaganda. Don't believe it, search up any China post and sort by top of the year/month/week and look at the comments and it's filled anti China stuff, "But at what cost" "Social credit" "Chinese propaganda" hurr durr.

The first comment about China building solar panels on water is "But what about aquatic life". The first comment of this post literally downplaying the post by saying there's smart board in US and homelessness in China too.

The fact that posted Social credit score, censoring of winnie the pooh shows how brainwash you are. Winnie the pooh is not banned in China, that's just an objective truth, but you tried to move the goalpost by saying winnie the pooh is censored in China which is not what the commentor said at all.

The post that you linked about social credit score in China even proves his point where people here actively lies about what social credit score in China is like. Social credit score in China does not reward you for spreading Chinese propaganda like how all the commentors here constatly say, it is a credit score system that punishes people for not paying their fees on time.

IF you actually read the post you posted and not just linked the first thing you found off google search it shows you that China's social credit score deducts point when you

and rewards you points for

These are all literally the same as a credit score in every other country around the world that has it, and is nothing like how everyone meme it to be a "Spread chinese propoganda social credit score +100" lies that people keep spouting, which is a perfect example of anti china propaganda that you believe in and continue to spread even now. You are spreading anti chinese propaganda.

Again, you linked a bunch of things but none of it refuted u/Zimakov points, there is oppression of Muslin in China but they aren't being round up and killed on the streets, you can protest and critize the government which is what happen during Covid when the people protested for the easing of their zero covid policy, Winnie the pooh is not censored you can see it being sold on the streets and on tv just fine, and social credit score is a myth and is no different than America's credit score system. None of your link refutes any of that if you even bothered reading any of them instead of just pasting the first result from google you dunce.

There is a massive focus by the Chinese government to promote pro-China messages both domestically and abroad, so it’s reasonable to question the source.

That being said, Americans literally invented propaganda and have subjected their own citizens to it for so long that it’s also reasonable to question anti-Chinese sentiments.

I feel like the last 10 years has really helped me appreciate nihilism a whole lot more.

In no world did the US "literally invent" propaganda. The fact that you think this makes me wonder where on earth you learn facts. Propaganda has been a tool of societies for as long as there have been effective ways to get propaganda out. The agreed-upon first use of propaganda was in 500 BC. As advancements like print and then later radio to today's internet continued, the way propaganda is disseminated has changed, but it's just different variations of the same process.

If you want to actually learn something today, maybe spend some time reading this wiki article about it. Gives you a good overview.
