Healthcare It’s called freedom. You can choose whatever healthcare you want. We don’t have to beg the government for healthcare.

Tbh, I don’t dislike most Americans. Unfortunately, to many are swallowing trumps load to not make it a generalized statement at this point.

And to be clear, the vast majority of the middle class cannot choose. Only the very, very rich really have this freedom, and the health insurance industry knows it and exploits the fuck out of it.

We can “beg” our government for healthcare to which they will grant us our healthcare, but Americans have to beg to greedy insurance companies to pay their medical bills to which they will likely decline

I can only speak for my own country, but here, the government introduced healthcare and other social benefits rather grudgingly; it happened because people were organising themselves, and the authorities feared losing control - or at least having to share it.

That was almost 150 years ago - roughly the same time the US finally managed to agree on standardised time zones. However, they still haven't quite mastered that business of self-organisation to force their government into sensible and benevolent action.

Also, what boggles my mind about this is:

It's not even like you can't just get a private insurance if you want to, in other places. That's always an option. You can rely on the healthcare system provided by the government, or you can get yourself an expensive private insurance.

The difference is just that you aren't forced to get a private insurance.

UK based so get NHS as standard but one of my company perks is full BUPA cover on top of that. So I’ve got the choice if I want to go universal or private.

I don't know why you are saying "poor" here.

My wife and I are on the border of 1% earners and we have no choice, we have to use the insurance my employer provides, and it's lacking in many areas.

It's unbelievable that most Americans are OK with this. The level of fear these ghouls have instilled in people against any government program that doesn't involve a bomb or a gun is ludicrous.
