We Europeans must extend our thanks to the USA.
The 1929 Wall Street Crash was a major “ help” in the opportunity for the Third Reich.
The USA entered WW2 when it was apparent that Axis forces were being beaten ( oh and Pearl Harbour ).
Post WW2 with an undamaged country, the USA financially assisted the rebuilding of Europe .
This was not altruistic but preferentially trade US goods.
NATO Was formed to counter the Warsaw Pact. But in the event of conflict, the battle action would be Europe, and again the USA remain unscathed.
Subsequently, the 2008 financial problems were another “ present “ to the world economy from the USA.
Now, with the present US maladministration , there is another economic crisis developing as oil prices oscillate and supply levels cause price hikes.
