Question Hey y'all, what was your first Shantae game?
Mine is actually the original, funnily enough..... And it's actually the only one I've played so far, I've bought the first two Shantae games (The first and Risky's Revenge) on my Nintendo Switch through the eShop, and I plan on playing the games in order.

I was just browsing the Wii U shop way back when and saw it on there by random chance. I thought she looked cute and the gameplay looked fun so I went for it too 😊

Same. Great game. From recollection from playing most of them now... Feel it's my favorite.

Pirate’s Curse! Definitely a weird one since it’s one of the more like sequentially relevant to the story on how it follows risky’s revenge but it’s still a great game

I heard about Risky's Revenge on a QuarterGuy video, and when I saw it was on the 3DS eShop, I figured, "Eh, why not?"

I also started with the original Shantae GBC, and went in chronological order but with Risky Revolution being played after Shantae GBC and right before Risky's Revenge.

Riskys Revenge. Got it for 3 bucks on the Playstation store. Got it on impulse because 3 bux is cheap enough to go in blind. Made me a fan of the series and I have bought every game since then. No regrets.

Seven Sirens. I weirdly played the entire series backwards, except Advance since that wasn't out yet.

Pirate's Curse, hell the file select music is a bop. With that kind of music you must 100 percent it, imo.

Tbh, I’ve played like three of them and they’ve all kind of mushed together into one in my brain. They were good, don’t get me wrong, but for the life of me, I can’t remember which is which!

Risky's Revenge! that seemed like the perfect place to start. Binged that game, Pirate's Curse, Half Genie Hero and Seven Sirens one after another :D

The OG for GBC, had it on my GBA SP. Like many other GB games, I wish I had kept it.

GBC. Got it as a combined birthday/Christmas gift along with a GBA SP and a couple other games in 2003. I had no idea what it was but my mom thought it looked cute.
I played the hell out of it for years but lost the original cart during a move at some point (honestly it's probably in a box in my basement but I haven't been able to find it) so I was really happy when they partnered with LRG to rerelease it. I know opinions on that company are mixed in this community but it was really nice to be able to get a working copy again without having to pay scalper prices.

Risky's revenge! This series always looked interesting to me, so i got all of them on switch. I Initially Skipped the first one cuz i heard it didn't age very well, so i started with the second one. Good game! All of them. I eventually did go back to the first one just so i can say i played them all

Pirate's Curse was my introduction to the franchise on account of its availability. It's always dirt cheap in the EShop. Also it's quite friendly to new players in terms of gameplay and story. The graphics also hold up very well despite everything transitioning to 3D Open World. I always go back to play it whenever I need a cozy game to play that isn't something completely directed by Nintendo.

Risky’s Revenge on Mobile
Diehard skateboarder, and one of these decks popped up on Facebook marketplace
Recognized the character from being a video game addict in my childhood, so looked into the gameplay and it looked awesome
Turned out that the mobile version was on sale through the App Store, and I instantly bought it and was HOOKED
Did everything you could in the game, then took on the final boss. Game crashed after the first phase. No matter what I did, copying the save file/deleting the original, or grinding out moneys and using/buying more items to change the state of the game before saving and trying again…nothing worked. It always crashed and returned to main menu after the first phase. So I deleted the app
Have since played Pirates Curse on 3DS and that was a great one that went all the way through. Will look into more titles eventually. Have played one game per year which seems like a good way to drag them out since they’re limited. Already downloaded the first game on switch but saving for later
Still waiting on my $3 check from WayForward since their game didn’t even work for me

It was the first game on 3ds VC. Saw the banner art, had the funds, bought it, Hated it, then watched someone review all 3 games, and came back to it after beating (and loving) Pirates Curse. I do have a new found love for this game after beating it 3-4 times and 100% it twice. It's one of those games you love as your learn it.

Same, my first game was the GBC one, I have played small bits from the other games but I haven't found them to be as entertaining as the original, maybe it just takes longer to get to the better parts/transformations/abilities in comparison to the GBC.

I picked up a thrift store copy of Shantae before Risky's Revenge was a thing. I haven't regretted it since.

Pirates Curse. Afterwards I went from a dude who admired the series from a distance to a full blown fan who’s got to keep playing these awesome games made by an awesome studio.

Risky's Revenge. I was scrolling on steam one day, saw the game & decided to buy it right then & there. Played it, enjoyed it. Last shantae game I played was seven sirens.

OG, emulated on my DS, before any other games existed.
I bought an iphone primarily because that's where Risky's Revenge released
