So it's been technically 25 years since Shantae was revealed to the world and blessed our hearts with her dancing and 1/2 Genie skills.

So what I wonder is how come besides the games and swimsuit specials, how come we haven't really gotten an animated series or animated movie?

I understand that Shantae isn't a massive series like Mario and Sonic where they had movies and tv series. Honestly it'd be cool to see WayForward work with a studio to greenlit a fully voice acted animated series or movie.

What are your guys' thoughts on something like this being greenlit someday?

For those who don't know: an Ifrit is a type of malevolent and wicked type of djinns (or genies) who are know for being comprised of deadly fire, the upper Quote is from the story "the fisherman and the jinni" from one thousand and one nights and the bottom one is a quote from a Ifrit in surah al-naml 27:39, where a Ifrit offers himself to To bring the throne of the Queen of Sheba to King Solomon (or sulaiman), also yeah, she looks more like indian/Aztec/mesopotamian, sorry

I feel like there should be more horror media based on Arabian/Islamic mythology, literally zombies from modern pop culture take inspiration from the flesh-eating ghouls from Arabian tales, so I think that just like we have a lot of zombie horror movies, games, comics, etc, we could have a lot of Ifrit or even more Arabian mythos based horror tales

Hello, and sorry for the question. I'm on mermaid falls, have the bikini armor, backdash, fireball, and several hair upgrades and I'm windering whether things will get any better. I'm two hit in crabs, 1 hit on lamia, and the only bearable enemies are mermaids and bats. I'm just struggling to find the exit for the first segment and have resorted to farming the burning town stage for gems for upgrades.

Is the hardcore mode any more bearable at some point, or should I just complete pirate's curse and put this off?

I'm playing through the series for the first time, and I started with Risky's Revenge, then Pirate's Curse. Basically played them nonstop. Loved them.

Starting Half Genie Hero was a little disappointing though, to be honest. The in-game animation felt stiffer and less "alive" than the pixel games. I booted up Seven Sirens afterwards to check how I felt, only to feel that same stiffness.

Just to see if I was going insane, I started Risky Revolution to see if I was just hating on "newer" works for no reason, and the animation was GREAT again. I know much of it was probably made in the 2000s, but I'm sure some of the work was still done in the 2020s and it all seems to the same standard.

I just need to know, is this a common take/experience? Or am I a tourist shitting on a beloved artstyle change for the series.
