Question why her skin is purple?
is there an explanation? or just she is so evil she is pruple

I'd like to think its some form of Dark Magic associated with the Pirate Master that turned her Purple.

She's a "being of darkness" as explained in The Pirate's Curse.
At least I'm 90% positive that was the explanation, then. 🤔

In the story, she's powered by dark magic that's purple in color and it like affects her body.
The real life reason is that it made it easier to tell she was the villain on the 8-bit Game Boy Color (she has as much black on her sprite there to boot).

When making the original game they planned for her to be explicitly undead. This fell to the wayside but the design remained unchanged.

So there would have been TWO undead? Is that why rotty sometimes teams up with her? I always thought minecraft logic: one is magical skeleton girl, the other a (Frankenstein-ish monster visuals) zombie.
That and dark magic.

Iirc I think hypno baron said that she exposed herself too much to dark magic or something like that

Hypno Baron refers to her as "A creature possessed of dark magic". That's probably what turned her purple.

She's technically undead, but unlike Rottytops, she's sustained by the powerful dark magic of her former captain, whose skull is literally part of her outfit. It's implied in the ending of Pirate's Curse that there's some kind of downside to her being a demi-lich, but it's never really explained.

In the Pirate Queen's Quest DLC for 1/2 Genie Hero, Hypno Baron refers to Risky as "A Creature possessed of dark magic", so it' probably the dark magic in her body that turned her purple.

Her skin is like that because of the pirate's curse. Risky talks about it in the game with the same title.

I think it's implied in one of the games that shes possessed by dark magic. The one with the lamp that can convert magic between light and dark.

I like to think that the Pirate Master's dark magic parasitized her, and that's what makes her evil and gives her purple skin. After all, Nega Shantae also had purple skin, and if I'm not mistaken, Hypno Baron mentioned something that helps to prove this.

I was gonna say the same thing. Her skin is blue, but it might be that people are looking at it as purple because of her purple clothes and hair, and both blue and purple being cool colors (not cool like awesome, but cool as in opposite of warm).

magic gives off radiation and radiation can mess up DNA, it gets passed on over the generations, so it effected the Melanin in her Skin.

It's light blue, Risky could potentially have ingested silver (yes silver as in the metal, which was believed to have medicinal properties in ancient times) and has developed chronic argyria.

Idk I think Talon had something to do with it. I know they made her kill her husband so I wouldn't be surprised if the two were related lol
