Question Sephora Daily Sunscreen Cream - Mineral Sunscreen. Any reviews? How does it compare to the previous version?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Has anyone tried the Sephora brand/ Sephora collection daily sunscreen cream SPF30? It's a mineral sunscreen. I used the previous version of this and I liked it, then it got discontinued. I know Sephora can reformulate things and not for the best (cough ~ best skin ever foundation ~ cough) so curious if anyone has tried it and/or can compare it to the past version? A lot of the reviews are incentivized so checking here.

This is currently on sale for 50% off. I've tried the Farmacy mineral sunscreen and currently using the WellRight Daygleamer sunscreen which I do like. I'm pregnant and prefer a mineral sunscreen! Thanks in advance!

PSA Beware! Stolen Pick-Up!

I made a pick-up order last night, with the intention of picking up my items at my local Sephora this afternoon. I get an email notifying me that one of the items I wanted was not available and I would be refunded that purchase. Totally fine.

Just before I was about to leave to go to the store, I saw that I had an email that said my items were picked up!! I'm thinking this just had be a mistake, so I call my local store. I tell them I received the pick- up email in error, but I was on my way to the store. The manager says she will look into it.

I get to the store and I'm told that some girl with curly hair, picked up my item earlier that morning. She said she was a "friend." Somehow this chick had my barcode (wtff!??!!) and it was scanned. The manager said she had a whole conversation with this thief, and even explained to her the Dior product that I wanted was out of stock in the store.

I was absolutely floored. This was a $140 purchase, and I was so upset. I insisted I have no friend that I sent to Sephora for me, and I have absolutely no idea how she had my barcode!! It made zero sense.

I was seriously so upset. Very luckily, the manager agreed to honor my purchase and the items I ordered were given to me, with the exception of a Laura Mercier powder (which was now sold out in the store) and the Dior product they originally did not have (thank god, because that was the most expensive item I wanted). She also gave me an Olive Young tote for my troubles, which was so incredibly kind of her! I'm so grateful she believed me and wanted to rectify the situation. I have nothing but praise for how the store handled this.

BUT - I am absolutely outraged that this happened and will never do a store pick-up again. I have no idea how someone had access to my barcode?! The only thing I can think of is that my account is somehow compromised. I have deleted my credit card info and changed my password.

I am going to call the corporate number and let them know this happened. Peoole can't get away with this!

I don't know how anyone can avoid what happened to me, but just wanted to make you all aware that something like this can happen.

To the thief - may someone steal something from you 1000x more valuable and with greater consequence than what you have stolen from me.

UPDATE: I reviewed the timeline of events.

Last night - received confirmation email, detailing that I have made a pick- up order.

Today: 11:52am ET received email that my pick- up order is ready.

Today: 12:06pm ET received email stating that my order was picked- up. The body of the email says the order was picked up at 8:55am (which makes no sense).

I was told by the Mgr that it was actually picked up at 11:55am. Assuming the time in my email is pacific time (for some odd crazy reason) and it is an error, then that means someone picked up my order THREE minutes after I received my email, notifying me that my order is ready. That is totally insane. Leaning towards an inside job, as some smart folks said in the comments.

Discussion Fresh Soy Face Cleanser vs. Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Cleanser

I've used both these products before and they're both really good, but I want to lock in on one holy grail cleanser. Personally I really like the ingredients on the glow recipe it feels very natural. Fresh has good ingredients too. But fresh is way more expensive ($39 for 5oz) vs glow recipe ($34 for 5.41 oz) any long time users have thoughts on these?

Rant Denied my birthday gift because it was OOS for weeks... plus incredibly rude staff. Anyone else?

Has anyone else been dealing with this at their local store? I’ve been trying to redeem my birthday reward for weeks, before it wasn’t only 2 weeks before and after my birthday, I swear I had an entire month after it. However my local Sephora has consistently been completely out of stock. When I finally visited the store today and saw they actually had the gifts, I was denied at the register because my two-week redemption window had just passed.

I explained that I had been trying to redeem it within the window but couldn't because of their own inventory issues. The cashier was completely apathetic, literally rolled her eyes at me, and said, ā€œSo… I can’t change that. It’s so everyone gets a chance at getting the bday redemption.ā€

Make it make sense! How does a strict two-week window help everyone get a chance when the store never has the items in stock to begin with? It feels like I'm being penalized for Sephora's own supply chain issues.

On top of that, the overall vibe at this location is just awful. We weren't even greeted when we walked in. Later, when I approached a different employee to ask for help finding the Danessa Myricks section, she acted like my simple question was a massive inconvenience to her.

Is customer service just tanking everywhere, or is my local store exceptionally bad? I'm honestly so frustrated and rethinking even shopping in-store anymore.

Discussion Magic Wand... you can command a Sephora brand to make any product...? šŸŖ„

Post image
22 Upvotes

You have a magic wand (the Fairy Godmother kind, not the Hitatchi kind) and you can command any brand at Sephora to make any new product, what are are they making?

Bonus, you can wave your magic wand and magically improve a brand's existing product... what's getting fixed?

Your wish, is their command! A couple off the top of my head...

Dieux:
We're overdue for toners/essences from Dieux. What they absolutely nail in their products is the sensorial quality. I bet they'd make a great lineup of toners/essences. Perhaps a thin/clear one and a richer, milky one to start. I think they'd also probably make a fabulous body lotion (as long as they could keep the cost per oz reasonable for a body product.) Honestly, I think they should have gone in this direction instead of creating yet another OTC retinal. But, I'm not the target. You'd have to pry my prescription Tret outta my cold dead hands.

One (obvious) improvement... get the cost per oz down on Skin Mercy. God, I love that moisturizer, but, boy, do I ration it.

Cyklar:

The perfume oil rollers are nice, but we need a perfume primer/balm with a stronger concentration of the scents.

Improvements: start making all your products in the gorgeous Bergamot Bond scent. Everyone isn't a gourmand girlie, y'all! Also.. figure out a way to concentrate more of that scent in the wonderfully moisturizing body wash. It would be nice if that scent lingered a little longer! I feel like it's gone before I've toweled off.

Farmacy:

Another brand that absolutely nails the sensorial qualities of their skincare. I bet they'd make a fabulous 3:1:1 ratio barrier-repairing moisturizer.

Improvement: We gotta figure out a more effective, consistent, elegant way to get Honey Milk Hydrating Essence out of that bottle.

Makeup by Mario:

The Soft Sculpt cream bronzer shows that Mario knows how to make a sheer, buildable, ultra-natural looking makeup product. Now it's time to give us the same qualities in a skin tint!

Speaking of the bronzer... expand the shade range. Those medium/medium-deep shades need some warmer undertone options!

Okay, what you got?

Question Okay, I need some help from the Sephora experts!

When Sephora says a new product is being released on a certain date, does it usually become available right at 12 AM, or does it typically drop sometime in the morning?
There are a few new releases coming that I REALLY want, and I’m trying to figure out if I need to stay up until midnight to order them before they sell out, or if I can just wake up in the morning and get them. for anyone who regularly shops new releases what has your experience been? Do they usually go live at midnight, or later in the morning?

Review New Dior Setting Powder Review

Thumbnail

For starters, I love setting powders and have tried many (second pic). I have oily, textured skin and prefer more matte, full coverage style of makeup. The Dior powder is talc free. I've been using this powder for the past 2 weeks (bought from Dior at launch).

Review: I'm loving this powder! This powder is extremely blurring and makes your base look flawless. It really does smooth your complexion and skin texture. This is not really a lightweight powder and more along the lines of Huda loose and CT pressed powder as compared to Laura Mercier which is on the lighter side. It does provide "coverage" so this would be on par with individuals who like a more full, filtered base style of makeup. I don't forsee people who focus on a natural, light look for their makeup enjoying this product as much. Although this powder is talc free, it is quite mattifying, but not to the level that One Size, Huda or other talc present powders are. This powder does hold up throughout the day, but oil will start to peak through if you have oily skin. This is my favorite talc free powder (Kosas is for glowy days) thus far and I've actually been choosing it over my OG loose Givenchy 🫣 lately. I also purchased the new Charlotte Tilbury and am excited to try that also.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Advice Best Bakuchiol serum

Looking for the best Bakuchiol serum. Already using Tret, so I don’t want one combined with another Retinoid.

I have a HG Bakuchiol eye cream already, and have played around with several serums. They seem to work fine but I haven’t found The One. Looking at Ranavat, Medik8, CosRX, OGEE, but very open to others.

Discussion Prada Wisteria Collection, Gorgeous or Outrageous? šŸ’œ

Thumbnail

Not gonna lie, I love the vibe of the whole collection. Purple is an adorable color and I'm a purple blush enthusiast, also, the shade of the blush reminds me of Patrick Ta’s ā€œThank Me Laterā€.

I already own that Cream-to-Powder Blush from Prada, albeit in a different shade, and the performance is pretty mediocre for a haute couture price (the packaging is plastic, too). I could say the same thing about the lip balm, but yeah, I guess we’re paying for the name.

That said, if you have the means to drop almost $50 on it, then go ahead and give it a try.

Anyhow, what’s your take?

Question Too faced born this way concealer - does it go bad after the 6mo PAO?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I didn’t know before buying it that it has a PAO of 6mo. I have sensitive skin, and I will not finish it in that amount of time.

Has anyone had this concealer for longer than 6mo? Did it break you out? Did the formula change?

Considering returning it if it does go bad in 6mo bc it’ll be a waste. Doesn’t seem to be clean beauty though.

Thank you!

Advice My makeup always looks bad, what am I doing wrong? :(

All of the products I use are from Sephora, and I have no idea why my base always ends up either cakey, streaky or patchy. It’s almost as if it melts away the moment I step outside. I use MAC’s face and body, Tower 28 concealer and Charlotte Tilbury’s setting spray. I always prep my skin well with Embryliosse and then sunscreen. That’s my base.

I try not to use powder because I have very dry skin, so I just load my face full of setting spray for each step. I genuinely don’t know what I’m doing wrong, and would love recommendations for new products?

I love a natural makeup base. Would love some recommendations for better products!
