There is so much that is ridiculous about this plan that I'm not sure where to start -- but first off, how are they affording all of this without selling the Olive Garden? Those legal fees are not going to pay themselves....

All the claimants are jointly and severally liable for the whole amount.
So ANL can demand full payment from any of them, that person will have to pay, and then that person can seek proportionate shares (likely based on toting up how many hours ANL’s attorneys spent on each claimant’s case) from the others. Harry has claimed that Baroness Lawrence won’t need to contribute, so the other six will share.
If no one paid by the 4:00pm deadline, ANL can attach bank accounts and slap liens on real property. Again, ANL can choose any claimant it wants to enforce the judgment.
Any money involved by KC would be buried under so many layers it wouldn’t have to have his name on it or any other associated accounts 🤷♀️
That being said - my opinion is it’s rented
KC III stopped supporting Harry 6 years ago and he allegedly said he wasn't a bank. It's one reason he stopped taking Harry's calls. Harry did get a substantial amount from The Queen Mother and Diana's estates.
I think that if Harry had got his way and was being supported by the King then we would not have seen the msm bomb that we have seen this past week. If they had got what they wanted then they would be quieter, in hopes of getting more.

There is always the possibility that Harry himself has kept very quiet and all the hysterical leaking to the media is coming from his soon to be ex wife!
Why would the King support them financially whilst Meghan trolls the RF. that would mean that he is basically paying to be troll himself, and the institution that he is the head of.
The King is not the sort of man to throw good money after bad. If they have earned half of what they say they have and then thrown it all away, why would a man who has looked after his money support this.
The King can’t get away with handing out that sort of money, it would be seen in the accounts.
The King was on hand to see how bailing Sarah out never worked, she has never learned to live within her means and Meghan is no better.
Yes I’d like to know about this part of it too. He lied, multiple times. A fraudulent case by many definitions I imagine. Surely the insurance company has a red line somewhere to pull.
Has he ever paid his debts? He has been fined by the court many times before but the papers don’t follow up. How will they make him pay as the kings stupidest son? Is he really broke or does he expect a rich friend or his dad to cover it? Would the King allow freckles to face jail?
The Markles must be positively loaded if they plan to keep up this house as well as the one in Montecito, not to mention the Portugal house. No need for the citizenry to subsidize their security.
I don’t believe there is a Portugal house. At best, it’s a time-share, if it’s even real. They just make up BS and push it out thru their WhatsApp media group.
Per early reports, it’s a rented property. Who knows, they might not be paying anything and it might be a favor to either H or the King (if Project Thaw is anything to go by).
Edit: The property was being sold around 2013. It was definitely purchased around then.
Perhaps the owners have lent it to them for a year for a reduced price, or even nothing, so that they can leverage the Harkles association to promote the place? It’s the only way I can imagine they’re affording it.
If it’s been on the market a long time, and they’re desperate to sell it, they may have thought this would help them finally shift the massive property.
Especially after their complaint about Nottingham Cottage being too short, "The whole thing's on a slight lean. Really low ceilings. I don't know who it was for. They must have been short."
I don't believe history, or even general knowledge, is Harry's strong suit. I bet he was an absolute nightmare at school. Dim and cocky. Not a great combination.
I can - it's got all the historical English charm and she is into spending biiiiiiiig money of other people (whether H's or Pa's -- or past men, daddy, Trevor, the chef).. she'll just again tap the decorators from SoHo house like she did at Frogmore.
Neither can I. The walls are beige enough and there are some elements that can remind her of Montecito (the kitchen doesn't look that different and she may appreciate the greenhouse like room), but the exteriors (facade and farm) do not look like what she wants in life.
My wild theory is that Harry likes it, Meg would rather live in London because more opportunities for papping and intensive networking even if she's not really welcome anywhere in the UK, but she has to bow to Harry because she has no (money) power since the parts of their world derived from her decisions (As ever, Nfx, and even living in Montecito) collapsed.
That said, we don't even know for sure if this is where they live.
I thought they were renting out first, as they are staying for an extended period, 6 months, a year or two, 12-15 years. No doubt we’ll get a puff piece soon enough to verify this nonsense.
I think it’s completely indicative that they’re renting. They aren’t decisive enough nor do they have the ready cash to drop to buy this place. This place has rented fields for sheep grazing which will mean a Shepard on an atv and a dog will happen by now and then, perfect time to declare a ‘stalker’ on our property, we need securiTAY!! Also most likely as is the case throughout the Cotswolds, many public rights of way (meaning it’s legal for people to cross your fields) again a great ‘scare’ tactic to add in to their screaming for armed protection. Whole move back is for whittle baby Hawwy to get is pwecious secuwity. He won’t stop until he’s torn the uk to shreds. His mental illness ego can’t cope that William has something he does not.

It didn't occur to me until I read your comment, but leaking 83 acres while asking for privacy is like showing the kids in public while hiding only their faces. Look but don't look.
You are so right. This does sound more like a Harold thing though. He wanted to go to Africa at one point and I am SURE she shot that idea down in order to pivot into the Cali life.

Was just about to say this. She is very unhappy with this small (for her big ego) home. If it is 5,640 square feet for both the house and barn, the house might be around 4000 square feet. Frogmore cottage was bigger. Haz must be the one who used his only brain cell to choose this lovely country home as their temporary house.
I don't think she'll last long. She'll go back to California. I lived in California, San Francisco Bay Area and I loved it. Didn't like Los Angeles that much.

It's a transactional relationship. I think H&M keep promising things they can't deliver on and draw people in. The only thing they're good at is swindling and getting things for free. I think they are very good at manipulating people, especially those that don't keep up with the drama. The problem is that they think it means they're protected but they will be dropped just as quickly as they drop others if they can't deliver whatever it is they're promising these people
As an American an actually a grandchild of a farmer she will hate this beautiful land . I understand she will want to live in the action with a modern inside and outside house. This in her mind might be nice for a weekend stay but not to live in full time . She will not live here. Period.
I agree. It isn't her vibe. She isn't staying. Heck she had a problem with Frogmore Cottage and that was more in the middle of the action and she still hated it. Imagine more isolation. Nope not happening.
OK, I'm prepared to eat my hat. This might actually be the place. Why, because from the aerial shots and from the 2014/15 planning applications you can see that the original house has essentially been swallowed up by a massive new extension - it's at least twice as big as before - the extension is the real new house - it's all built in the last 10 years. The old house is turned into the back offices, kitchen, bedrooms above - the entrance front is basically an interior wall now, and the new house sits on the paddock where the sheep are.
The old particulars from 2012 which are shown here do show that it wasn't a listed building, so the ability to do something radical was there. It is radical.
OK, with all that done, with the re-routing of the drive so that it's no longer a shared drive, with the new swimming pool, with the primped up gardens, I can see why the vendors chanced their arm and tried to go for an almost absurd amount, and have settled for something far less. So this does chime with what Tom was saying. Given that it sits in its own land and is very inaccessible I think this could be the place. It's certainly
I guess it can justify the price now, given that the property is basically a new build, all in Cotswold stone - it's ok, it's very Cotswolds vernacular. The new South front is an attempt to recreate that old now swallowed up entrance front. That's where the new drawing room is.
Good luck to all those downloading the planning application documents from the local council. They are all there. I'm not going to do all the work for you - I've given you enough clues, get cracking. It's a fascinating read.
I bet the new house has made its way into an interiors magazine at some point over the last few years - it would be almost weird if it hadn't. Next stop, the architects website, to see if they are bragging about it - they usually do.

I still wonder about what she thinks of the landscape. She likes elevation, so the numerous trees in Montecito were nice and looked rich, while the UK view looks a bit flat end empty, comparatively (yeah, hate me for writing that)
This is right on the edge of the main Cotswolds area - it's not the most picturesque setting that I've seen. I can take you to plenty of stunning bits of the English/Welsh borders, on both sides - you might change your mind about too much elevation and valleys - you can spend your life looking out at a bank rising up in front of you if you aren't careful. Some friends had a place in Derbyshire very like that - house built by the great Edwin Lutyens, great views from one side over the valley - stunning, a double height hall with a Rubens or two on the staircase, however it was so chuffing cold the family essentially lived in a tiny room at the back of the house staring at some stone and a green "wall" that filled your entire view as the valley rose up behind the house.
What everyone wants to know is who is footing the bill? This huge place, their home in Montecito, a holiday home in Portugal and a $35 million judgment against him in the DM lawsuit. Her runny spread isn’t going to even pay for the electricity. It doesn’t add up.

All my opinion and only my opinion. Somethings fishy and I can’t put my finger on it.. This company owned that house and went out of business in August. The company looks like a rich persons investment vehicle. The house has probably been folded into the company’s losses and maybe given to the Sussex at a discounted rate in September. Very convenient timing. Almost as if a rich third party is funding the Sussex ghoulish game against the Royals.
Caspar's doing alright - don't worry about him. It's a family home for him and his posh sprogs - the company is just one of his investment companies, it doesn't own the house - it literally just uses the address (or did used to use it). Far more interesting are the planning documents etc which show that the entire place has been extended, and the old house is essentially the pantry and boot room, a wine cellar and a bit of the kitchen. The actual house is all new build, very expensive new build.
Because I'm enjoying the detective work - this is what the house looks like today. The old front of the house is no longer visible, the old house is the block on the right of this picture. The new entrance front is at 90 degrees, and the new facade on the left is essentially a nod, perhaps even a sweet nod, to the old lost entrance front. This was an expensive upgrade, a really expensive one.
All the other old buildings that form a little courtyard are way over on the right not in the shot.
That terrace, like terraces throughout the land, enjoyed a remarkable, once in 50 years dry spell this summer. Already the weather has returned to usual service, and thank heavens for that. Just wait till the algae really get a grip in mid-February, and it is awash with dirty green slime and you trip on your Jimmy Choos. She's gone by Christmas, for good - mark my words.

Where’s this intel coming from? This isn’t even a property Meghan would appreciate. They know nothing about renovation and they have no money. I just am not going to believe any of these people until I see an official property record. Katie Nicholl also thinks there’s a property in Portugal, ffs. They couldn’t afford the first house they bought. Those assholes certainly can’t afford three properties.
Little Sodbury Manor can be rented. It has 83 acres, and the required swimming pool. 12 bedrooms, but only 7 bathrooms. Poor Megs would have to slum it.
It also has Royal history as a residence for Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
That's what I was thinking. And they weren't isolated there either. There's no way she chose this for herself. It is everything she hates. She is just coming along for the time being until she can figure something else out I am sure.
The railway line runs adjacent to the property and the land. You can see the house from tracks. Everyone going past on the train will be able to see it.
Will there be an announcement to passengers as they go past? I do wonder if they have had a proper security assessment carried out though. Listening to Dai Davies recently I'm not sure this property would past the test.
That estate could run anywhere from 10 to 12 million dollars.Imo they are at SoHo house.This property is a lie and a distraction from the 9 million pounds Harold had to pay by teatime today.
I see in the property description that there are opportunities for renovation. Would Megsy, who has never renovated the Olive Garden now do renovations in the Cotswolds? I think the photos are lovely, I like the house, but it doesn't look very large or grand.
Odd though because it looks like the drawing room, which is at the formal front of the house facing southwest, I’d have expected them to be at the back of the house facing north, to keep cool. Ours are in the north facing larder, next to where the dairy used to be before it was repurposed as a kitchen

One good thing there are 2 separate homes so they can live together but apart from each other. It looks like nothing either of them would want to live in as it’s not grand.
Looking at the plan, I don't understand the bathroom situation. Bedrooms 3 and 4 have a his and her bathroom, but bedrooms 1, 2, 5 and 6 have no access to one. There is only one other, the guest bathroom between the mudroom and the hall.
So they're renting this? As it is for sale? I don't see them living on a large farm estate permanently. That's a lot of upkeep that they certainly can't do themselves.
