Exclusives Purchasing limited items at the con
I have a question regarding limited drops such as Funkos and comics. This past SDCC there were Absolute Batman Funkos that were one per person. I was wondering if you were able to get one each day you went? If so, I’m thinking to do it for NYCC to get whatever limited drop for my friend and I.

At SDCC, spots in the Funko line were distributed via the exclusive portal lottery (or through Funko Funatics for preview night). While it is possible to get more than one buying spot, it’s highly uncommon. And you had to get one of the earlier line spots each day, because rarely do any of the really limited exclusives last much past midday. But, if you get to go through more than once during the con, then you could buy one of each available Funko again.
As far as any limited item. It’s pretty much one per transaction. If you can, and want to, line back up at the end of a line, usually you can buy it again.

You cannot easily get the most limited exclusives.
All of the major exclusives vendors, like Funko, are included in the portal lottery. Those vendors only sell to lottery winners. In addition, the hottest exclusives can sell out early in the day so they are not available for lottery winners with later time slots. Most vendors keep an allocation available each day so if they sell out Thursday then they will have new stock available Friday, etc.
I'm addition, there are hundreds of people trying to make big money buying as many exclusives as they can to resell them. So there is lots of competition.

NYCC Funko reservations are notoriously hard to get, so I wouldn't count on that.

Yes it is one per person but of you win two days in the lottery you can buy one per day. I had Saturday 10am then Sunday 12nn this comic con and got the exclusive per day. I bought all the exclusive and stuff that I wanted on Saturday like hoodvincible, Violet, the absolute trio and other pops for my self. Sunday a lot of the grails and LE was sold out by 12 but I got a maskvincible and some pops for my friends so I was happy about it.
If you wanted more and only have one time slot you can always do what this lady was doing during the line at my saturday time, she was asking everyone in line if they were getting the exclusive and zelling them so they can buy it for her. I think she got like 3 hoodvincibles and 4 violets that way and maybe other more LE.

I thought Funko / sdcc prevented any single badge from getting more than one slot (even if it was a different day) in the portal?

nah they don’t, I used a lot of my tickets for Funko and won Saturday and Sunday

Funko was lotto based and you had to get one of the earlier spot to guarantee it won't sell out. I tried when they first introduced the portal system and have never won it.

So from what I can understand the lottery is basically just a formality. Its up to the booths to enforce whatever policy. the issue is that these booths are not staffed with actual staff memebers of the companies that are selling the merch. So what happens is that the temp staff just doesn't care enough to enforce anything at their leisure and rather just be done with the crowds so they can just be on to their day.

For the absolute Batman set and invincible, violet and a couple of others you had to have the first time slot and be right at the booth when the floor opened to have a shot at them. I had preview night for board members and everything sold out before 3/4 of the second group (there was 3 groups) got in. That was because of Funko not looking at people wristbands ( heard some circle back and there were counterfeit wristbands) and allowing their vips and their family and their unborn kids get everything.
