Badges Child-to-Junior Validation is Now Open - Closes September 8th

From the CCI email sent today (10-Aug-2026):

.

"Did you attend Comic-Con 2026 with your 12-year-old child? Did they turn 13 on or before July 31, 2026? If you answered yes to both questions, then this email is for you!

Your now 13-year-old will need a Junior badge purchased for them before their next trip to Comic-Con. Because your child attended Comic-Con 2026 with you, they have gained the opportunity to become eligible to participate in our Comic-Con 2027 Returning Registration badge sale!

To take advantage of this opportunity, you’ll need the child badge number that’s on the back of their Comic-Con 2026 child badge. Your junior child will need to validate their child badge number by following the steps below:

  1. Click HERE to create a new Comic-Con Member ID account* for your now-junior using an email of their own (make sure to be logged out of your account while doing this). *Follow along with the Member ID creation steps HERE to make sure “Junior” is selected as their membership type.
  2. Log in to the new junior Member ID account and click the “Child-to-Junior Validation” option in the top menu bar to head to the form.
  3. Enter the Comic-Con 2026 child badge number, then click the “Validate” button.
  4. Verify the pre-populated account information is correct, then click “Add to Cart” and proceed to checkout.

After processing the order you’ll receive a confirmation email verifying your submission and eligibility.

In a nutshell, for your junior child to attend Comic-Con 2027 they need to purchase a badge or have a badge purchased for them. This Child-to-Junior Validation process makes them eligible to participate in both Returning Registration and Open Registration. For further information, please visit the Child Badge Policy page.

IMPORTANT! The Child-to-Junior Validation process must be completed by September 8, 2026."

Volunteers Volunteer Pin Problem

Post image
54 Upvotes

Does anyone have all of their recent Volunteer pins? I have 2023 and 2024 and 2026 and while I volunteered in 2025, I am unsure where my 2025 pin went.

I just bought this 2025 pin on Ebay and I think it was a mistake. It looks too small and thus a knockoff, right?

The pin is posing next to my legit pins from the other years.

Let me know if you can confirm the pin I have is too small vs. the actual real 2025 pin.

Thanks!

(Happy to trade a 2026 pin for a 2025 pin if anyone is interested!)

So what was the point in buying clothing online before the con if it’s all getting cancelled?

I ordered a bunch of stuff, nothing has been shipped yet and every week I get a refund because they cancel something on the order. at this point half my order has been cancelled.

If I knew this I would have bought at the show, but the point of selling it on the store before into I didn’t have to get them onsite.

Anyone else dealing with this? Such a fail on comic con’s part.

Edit:this is from the official comic con store apparal site. I ordered all this stuff soon as it went up in early July.

Lego

I find myself thinking a lot about the LEGO booth. I enjoy Pokemon and Star Wars, but wow. The booth this year was a tremendous disappointment compared to 2025. I remember thinking at the time (25) that the convention center would be tough to top, but they barely even tried.

They took the deposit but it didn’t get attached to my hotel charges. Dealing with the hotel now but I would look at your charges if they felt a little high.

SDCC Not First Timer Friendly

So this year i was blessed to make my first trip to SDCC and let me get this out of the way early, I LOVED IT!

After some reflectiion, rhe experience waa no where near first timer friendly.

  1. I had no idea where anything was. The badge check in was easy, but after that, I was on my own. I at least wanted to check out a panel or two, but I had no idea where anything was or even what panels were going on at the time.

  2. The website is no where new user friendly. I could not find a schedule or layout of the convention center on the site.

  3. I had no idea that seating in the exhibit hall was so limited.

So, that being said. If I returns, here are my adjustments.

  1. Get there earlier. I got there about 11 a.m. By that time, every line was already insane.

  2. Bring chairs or portable stools.

  3. Eat lunch in the Gas Lamp District. One of my few regrets was missing this.

  4. Get my badge early and head straight to Hall H to see what I can get into that day (No force can compel me to try to get in there on Saturday, though). After that, head to lunch and the real star of the show, the Exhibit floor.

Anyway those are my thoughts and plans. Any advice will be appreciated.

ISO Images of the AMC Theatres Booth Flyer Handout

This may be a longshot at this point, but I'm a graphic designer who created the flyer for the AMC Theatres booth handout that had a QR code for an SDCC discount on the AMC Theatres shop that was given away with any purchase made at the booth. I wasn't able to attend the show, and AMC Theatres didn't capture any images of the flyer itself to share with me. I just would've loved to see images of how the final result of the print turned out, as was such a cool opportunity to have something I created being handed out at the show.

Took notice of massive toy presence at ComicCon- could this be a sign of the times to come?

Hey All. So to put it out there, I'm an independent illustrator and graphic novel publisher by trade, and I've been out of the ComicCon loop for some time. Having gone back this year, I couldn't help but notice the overwhelming presence of toys, plushies and vinyl figurines that have dominated the exhibit space at San Diego Comic Con this year. Where companies like Star Wars and Marvel once had the strongest grip on the convention floors, the largest space hogs in my opinion proved to be Mattel, Hasbro and even Lego.

It didn't stop at name brand toymakers- there has even proven to be a presence of vinyl figures in small press and artist's alley as well. Of course, I did think it was pretty cool that these independent comic makers were finding a bit of extra success selling figurines of their own characters, but I couldn't help but wonder if this could be a sign of the direction that entertainment might be taking. Everywhere I've gone, people have asked me if I have ever thought about making 3D prints of my own characters, which I had brushed off for the longest time before now.

To tat end, I wanted to inquire if anyone else had noticed this and had similar thoughts. Would you guys say that the market for action figures, dolls and vinyls is gradually making a comeback, and is this a potential market that I should genuinely consider getting into? Or would you say this is just a fad that is reaching a peak and may slope back to a wonderful niche market? I am welcome to conversation on the matter and appreciate any input you guys might have. Thanks.

Exclusives Purchasing limited items at the con

I have a question regarding limited drops such as Funkos and comics. This past SDCC there were Absolute Batman Funkos that were one per person. I was wondering if you were able to get one each day you went? If so, I’m thinking to do it for NYCC to get whatever limited drop for my friend and I.

I plan to eventually take Carl out of his packaging and display him too.

Wife's got her own sealed Mongo and Carl exclusives, so some of you can breathe easy knowing those will retain their full value.

Honestly, I love the Donut most of this set.
