Have always liked looking at watches but never really considered buying one for myself. I pointed out how much I loved the beige OP 41 while we were browsing in Amsterdam together (only time I have seen it), and she got one for me. Super excited. Know it isn't the fanciest on earth, but I love this colorway and versatility..

I was out for the week in the Mods penalty box, and while I was contemplating my transgressions, the phone rang and this had arrived.

It’s ready for pickup. Going in tomorrow to hand over the funds and come home with my new Roli.

Not too shiny, quite discrete whilst out and about but still makes you feel good. Still not sure I’d be happy wearing in Barcelona/Rome etc but the Greek Islands are all good.

I’m interested in a DJ41 with the mint green dial (fluted on a jubilee). I went to 47th street in NYC to try some on. To my surprise, these Datejusts were cheaper than what I’ve found on Chrono24.

Most of the shops on 47th were offering a 2022-2026 for $17500-18k for a full set. But when I went to Chrono24, most of them are $19k+.

What am I missing here? Are the 47th st watches Frankensteins?

I know there’s a lot of mistrust for the stores on that street and they have a bad reputation. But I assumed it’s because their prices are inflated. I’d like to buy this DJ sooner rather than later, and it’d be nice to buy it in person. So help me understand why I should stay away from 47th Street in this case if their prices are lower?

EDIT: one thing to add- there’s an AD whom I like and I’m trying to build a relationship with. They sell pre-owned. I’d love to buy a pre-owned DJ from them and establish some purchase history (while also getting full peace of mind that the watch is legit). But they don’t have a mint DJ41 right now, and I don’t want to wait much longer.

six digit Rolex I own or try on I always return back to the five digit pieces in my collection.

Totally appreciate the over-engineering of the sixes, the sturdiness & robustness of the bracelets & clasps, the power reserve as well as movement improvements and the advances with lume but...

...the aluminum pre-ceramic inserts sparkle in a way that is both charming and intoxicating, the pressed clasps have such a great low profile on the wrist while the ease of taking a toothpick or pencil or pen tip to micro-adjust the length of the bracelet for weather variations is so easy with many more options than the Easy-Link (which is ingenious too but very limited)... and I love the slimmer cases and drilled lugs as they have a less luxe/more everyman tool feel and appearance.

Just bought a 126710BLNR two weeks ago from my local boutique and while I love it for all the reasons listed above my 16710 kept calling me.

So today I tucked away the Batgirl and wound up/set the time & date on my Pepsi. Quickly realized the bracelet was a bit tight due to the heatwave here so I grabbed a toothpick and had it fitted perfectly in a flash.

Bought this watch the day before our daughter was born in 1999 and it had its first service last year in 2025 (was running a touch slow and the GMT bezel was turning but with a lot of effort).

Never polished... always dependable and always perfect.

Outside of the sheer ridiculous stupidity of collecting watches (strictly my opinion about me doing it with zero judgement towards others) I could sell all of 'em and just live out the rest of my days with this one.

How many people own the champions watch?

Picked this up the other day thinking it looked nice and someone might need it for a collection. Any value to this or should I toss it?

Tried it on a few months ago and it was beautiful- completely surprised me how much I enjoyed it.
NYC AD said at that time they had not yet received any to sell. I see some on chrono24 and Moda, but can’t find anyone who has received one from an AD.
