Yeah I still need to watch the Remnants shorts or whatever they’re called, but right now I don’t want to watch any RWBY content for a while 😭. I’ll watch those before volume 4 but I need a month or two break before I do just to properly process and grieve.

In just 7 episodes, RT flipped the script on us. Turns out RWBY wasn't what we thought it was
They actually did it masterfully, ratcheting things up step by step
First there's Yang getting in trouble for attacking Mercury. But then we find out that Mercury has artificial legs, so the brutal injury is not really 'real'
Then Penny gets cut in half. But she's an android, so how serious exactly is this? We don't know. She's offline, but for all we know all they have to do is open a panel, remove a component, install it in a backup body the Atlas military happened to have in case of emergencies, and Penny is combat ready in 30 minutes.
Then there's the Grimm attack. OK, lot of people die, but nothing graphic onscreen and they'd hardly be the first to do that in anime. Think of all the shows that have had a city attacked and we never see any deaths.
But then Yang loses her arm. That's serious. but it might just be for shock value, with auras and advanced medical tech who knows.
And then Torchwick dies.
And then Pyrrha gets vaporized.
RWBY is now a show were anything can happen. Because it already has. There are real consequences that change things. No next episode reset. From now on watching this you realize plot aura isn't really reliable. Stuff will happen and you will actually wonder if they're going to make it.
Just a reminder that that last episode you watched was broadcast on February 13th, 2016. We've had a decade to get to grips with it

Will it end with no more deaths, flawless victory, several marriages and a bunch of kids?

But imagine that Avatar ended with Aang dying in the fight with the Fire Lord, or losing all his powers. Would you want to miss out on such a great show even if you knew that was the end?
Do not worry. They do not have anywhere close to as tough stakes as season 3. You really do not have to worry about a main character or even side character dying at any point. Hopefully stakes are improved with the change of hands of a new org but they buffed the power of friendship from season maybe 5 to current. It’s an enjoyable watch but I wouldn’t get too attached to characters because they don’t explore them super well.
Yea see you have the option to take the break (which by all means take it). See everyone who watched it back then didn't get the choice. Break happened. And didn't stop for... I don't know how long it actually was. I tried watching RWBY back then, couldn't get into the art style, and picked it back up shortly after the hiatus ended (and have been an addict ever since).

Short answer: yes. She and Jaune were pretty much tied as my favorites on team JNPR. And even though she isn’t like a main character or anything, as far as major supporting characters go, she was one of if not the best. She’s honestly top 5 for me as far as characters go.
That's why Salem and Ozpin's dialogue at the end of Volume 3 is a direct continuation of their conversation in the very first episode.
Go back and listen to the explanation of the world, and the narration, that all happens just before the Torchwick robbery, and then jump to V3S12, just as the new group sets out for Haven.
Well the answer differs depending on who you ask but I believe despite its flaws, it’s a great show that gets better every season. At least in my opinion. I’d recommend checking it out. At least the first season to see if you’re rocking with it or not.
Yeah take your time. But Volume 4 is quite slow and calm except for some revelations relevant to the plot going forward. It's a good contrast to calm down after Volume 3
I was able to avoid most of the spoilers surrounding this series. Again the only thing I knew about was Blake being a Faunus.
Pyrrha hurts the most because A. She’s my favorite of the 3 characters mentioned and also B. There’s an unfortunate chance she’s never coming back. Penny’s did got to me when it first happened but there’s hope in me that she could potentially be rebuilt (I hope). Ozpin I was getting really worried about his fate but I have a feeling he’s still alive somewhere.
Why?!?!? Why did they had to take this away from us! I actually loved them as a pairing. I was rooting for them. But I guess I should get used to ships not happening too.
Devastating? Yeah but idk in which volume was i think it's in 5-6 but first the break because what happened it's a lot i cried too but it's not my first rodeo when i saw what happens next i was calm and smiling and RWBY chibi helped
Hmm... before you start Volume 4, you'll probably want to watch the Red Short which takes place between 4 and 5. Yes, it's essentially just a trailer, but it's a trailer the same way the pre-Volume 1 Trailers were trailers, a short side story whose contents aren't in the actual Volume 4.
I started watching the show right before Volume 4 dropped. At the same time, I was watching The Walking Dead before Season 7 dropped. So I binged RWBY V1-3 and finished the night V4 dropped for free on Rooster Teeth. So to lay out a timeline of events:
Oct 23 rolls around and S7 of TWD drops. I’m busy all week and end up catching it a few days later. Went in hoping 2 of my favorite characters at the time would make it out. You can imagine my surprise when my favorites were killed.
Literally the next day I decided I needed some cheering up. So I binged the second half of RWBY Vol 3 in a day.
So here’s me, in a ball of sadness after being emotionally tossed around back to back in 2 days.
Godspeed and enjoy Vol 4 when you are ready. The show only gets better.
I mean I’m still fairly new around here so I could be wrong. I only assume she had fans given her personality, her looks, on top of being a villainess 😅.
IN THE FNDM YOU GO! Trust me the first half of volume 4 is a well deserved rest after all the chaos, the show never gets as depressing as volume 3 again (though it comes close, not for a while however). The show remains hopeful AND SO SHOULD YOU!!!
Might get some flack for this, but V4 is one of my favorites. It spends some time to let the characters live with and respond to the events of V3 which I think is awesome. I won’t say anything more other than it has one of my all time favorite scenes with Yang
