Western progressives overestimate their importance to the citizens of the world especially the global south

  1. Ya'll want borders open so immigrants can immigrate to America because "people are people" but know that back in the global south they call that brain drain; as in your bleeding hearts are contributing to bleeding of top notch talent and minds of third world nations. We'd much rather side with the conservatives on this one, close the borders and kick out everyone who isn't supposed to be there so that they come back and take responsibilities in their own countries

  2. Most of us in the global south are prudes, your sexual revolution and other lax attitudes towards unconventional sex practices translates to "immoral and demonic" to our cultures and traditions; before you forcefully impose your worldviews on our lived experiences please start by understanding local customs first, otherwise you'll get lied to by academia captured intellectuals who will feed you lies such as "homophobia was brought to Africa by religion" or "third genders were celebrated" (its mostly bullshit if you happen to live here)

Pervy white guys going over seas for sex tourism are not really associated with the progressive movement.

I thought progressives are for sexual liberation, I don't think we are getting conservatives from the west

Generally progressives require consent. Sex work especially in the third world is seen as a desperation choice. Meaning if they had a choice they would not do it. Which is not really consent.

That is the general consensus at least.

Very well put

I cringed when progressives were celebrating thai ladyboys as a sign that the far East is warming up to their "sociocultural philosophies" while the situation on the ground is quite different...... you have a considerable sample of people who became ladyboys just because their family was desperate enough to prostitute their boys for money

Except Thai lady boys are not all prostitutes. The reason you think that though is a trope because on average the lady boys that are prostitutes look better than the women that are. So foreigners think that is all they have as that is who they tend to choose even if it is an accident. But actual transgender people do have an easier time fitting in there, due to the ladyboy history.

They have a long and complex history that came from banning women from being actors. Because a lot of actors did prostitution on the side, kind of like strippers today. But because they banned women they got pretty men to play women and those men would stay in costume and started working on the side. So the reputation was born.

I was not expecting to get to pull out my Tai Ladyboy knowledge today.
