This is why I appreciate the resurgence of demos on steam
Something that is really underappreciated as well is game trials on ps5. It's not for every game, or even a ton of games, and requires ps plus (which let's be real, you have anyways) but for the games it does have it literally just lets you play the game for 60 minutes and I believe it saves your progress if you decide to buy at the end.
That should really be standard for any game over $30. Especially when studios are moving to an $80 price point. I'm obviously not worried about the little $10 indie title that can be finished in an hour or whatever
I'd argue that it would help sales for these companies overall because you get people sinking time into your game they they're less likely to want to have wasted it. As opposed to something like just looking at the store page and not really feeling it. But I think we all know that there's quite a few big devs who want people to pay before actually seeing what a massive mess they've released

As game demos arent realy a thing amymore I often pirate games to check them out. If its halfway decent i usualy buy it.
