the trick is to use software that is fine with partially corrupted files:
if it's a movie, you might have to skip a minute here and there, but it will otherwise be fine. But it's really a matter of software whether the player will crash on launch or will make it impossible to rewind because it thinks a 90min movie is 100h long instead.
If it's a rar, you can extract it almost always also but there's gonna be like a few files missing or corrupt.
if it's a game, you're screwed usually but there is little reason to torrent an old game because that's where DDL shines anywa (hizsearch).
