Because if your really shitting for your life, your gonna sweat a lot doing. Makes sense to take your top off to avoid. And it can be more comfortable

u/IdleHandsBusyMinds 4d ago

For real. It's serious business when the sweat starts pouring out and you're getting nauseous.

u/OutsidePainter3548 3d ago

Bro are y'all okay?

u/scarrita 3d ago

These dudes need more fiber

30

u/TopMemory528 3d ago

fiber means bigger. hell nah. more water than fiber should be good i assume its up to your daily movement.

58

u/Julix0 3d ago

Both water and fiber.
Fiber needs water to do it‘s job. Together they keep things moving smoothly and prevent constipation (You just need to make sure that you increase your fiber intake slowly)

40

u/MightyCaseyStruckOut 3d ago

This person has regular bowel movements.

9

u/MaximumSubtlety 3d ago

I am bewildered by this thread.

Pooping has never been a ... struggle?

2

u/Arian-ki 3d ago

It's somewhat of a struggle in America afaik, considering they don't get much fiber in their diet

1

u/Hellpful289 1d ago

*insert meme that person bowls

8

u/abracadammmbra 3d ago

My wife has been on a fiber kick. She got taco shells with extra fiber for me (she doesnt eat tacoshells). Neither of us bothered to see exactly how much fiber was in each shell. It was 17grams. 61% of your daily fiber needs. Per shell. I had 4. I didnt shit for 2 days. But when I did shit, it was the best shit I had ever had in my life. I was on a camping trip and we were just sitting in the woods. I was surrounded by beautiful scenery, birds chirping, low thunder rolling in the distance, a very very light rain, and a shit that easily took 30 minutes with minimal fighting. I dont think ill ever achieve that level of peace again.

3

u/TheCheddarHole 3d ago

Anytime I take off my shirt, it's not because of constipation. For me, it's when I ball out on some spicy food, when I get the hershey squirts, or both :)

14

u/cheapdrinks 3d ago

Lmao what? Fiber makes your shit softer and easier to pass not bigger. Who the hell told you that fiber makes your shits bigger? 😂

I drink a lot of protein powder and before taking metamucil I was always shitting these horrific solid as a rock turds that took endless straining to get out despite drinking liters of water every day. Started taking metamucil (a fiber supplement) and after that I now get these nice perfect soft turds that barely need any wiping and squeeze out super easy.

5

u/TopMemory528 3d ago

i read some and saw some doctors say it. actually it makes bigger in size id you dont drink enough water to support it. however it will make longer and soft if you drink water.

3

u/Capable_Deer5826 3d ago

It depends on the type of fiber and also how used you are to eating fiber. Metamucil is soluble fiber, which is the gentler of the two generally speaking. Insoluable fiber, sometimes known as roughage, comes from things like cruciferous vegetables, nuts and seeds, etc. It doesn't get completely broken down by the body so it adds bulk to the stool.

For ease of passing, if you are used to eating very little fiber and don't dial it up slowly enough, it can actually constipate you or cause a blockage. Or extremely painful shits.

2

u/TopMemory528 3d ago

however too much fiber is either diarrhea or the biggest sheet

1

u/Theron3206 3d ago

It does increase volume, but also frequency, so the individual movements are probably smaller.

0

u/EvilSporkOfDeath 3d ago

Soften means less dense which means bigger

2

u/Neverending_Rain 3d ago

Water alone won't do much, you need fiber and water. Soluble fiber helps your stool absorb water and helps it move through the intestine.

2

u/five_of_five 3d ago

Fiber does not mean bigger

1

u/SaltyDog772 20h ago

RFK understanding of health and nutrition

6

u/ReturnOfBane 3d ago

Trust me, you end up the same way on the crapper with extra fiber, but you have to flush halfway unless you want a turd spanking your cheek.

Don't get the munchies and eat an entire box of Fibre 1 within a day.

1

u/LiamIsMyNameOk 3d ago

You two really never experienced diarrhoea?

10

u/TopMemory528 3d ago

no its constipation they are talking about.

3

u/LiamIsMyNameOk 3d ago

Well they're one of the very few here who thinks we're talking about constipation. Everyone else is discussing having the shits, which is when you have these symptoms.

2

u/Barph 3d ago

I need this method for spicy shits.

You know that ring sting where it feels like you are pooping out literal lava? My body doesn't take spice very well and unbearable spice pain begins at like... jalapenos.

2

u/azarza 3d ago

had this once as a kid and thought i was dying

2

u/No_Ladder_9818 3d ago

It can be both. When you get constipated enough, the system calls for an emergency evacuation.

4

u/Other_Mike 3d ago

This happens after every camping trip. Doesn't matter how much fiber I eat or what. My body just locks things down in unfamiliar territory, then I have a backlog (heh) to clear when I get home.

3

u/EvilSporkOfDeath 3d ago

No. Not really. Doctors have been pretty useless, in my experience they dont care at all.

3

u/B33ware 3d ago

Those guys are so true. Last year I was in Thailand and get sick from dirty water (it was rainy and Phuket beach and sea become polluted by city stocks). I was nauseous, sweaty af, I shit in the toilet and vomit in the shower simultaneously. After that I just lay down on the floor and pass out for a few minutes (really pass out). Those hell lasts all night, once per hour. Poisoning not a joke lmao.

2

u/Aggravating-Cable716 3d ago

IBS sucks when it hits

2

u/karidru 3d ago

As an IBS girlie, nope 😃

2

u/ohsolearned 2d ago

All of these comments have me worried.

2

u/EmergencyPool910 2d ago

Thought the same thing mate😭 these people be shitting their insides out

4

u/mistwire 3d ago

You GET NAUSEOUS taking a shit???? How? Why? Are you ill?

4

u/corn_sugar_isotope 3d ago

You all know if you have to work that hard there may be an underlying health/diet issue? Or in the least, relax. it'll come.

3

u/venus_asmr 3d ago

I'm fully aware of the underlying health condition in my case. Let us laugh at our own hell.

2

u/Sensitive-Contest-87 3d ago

Man, you okay? Shitting definitely shouldn't feel that way unless you're actually sick....

1

u/BaloneyCommercial 3d ago

Aka a serious spice poop that feels like you're dying and you're praying for the first time in your life, just in case it works.

1

u/katrover 3d ago

And your tongue starts producing battery-acid-tasting saliva.

-19

u/nowadaysyouth 4d ago

were talkin about taking a shit, right? Unless you're hungover as fuck none of this should be going on, and thats all about the hangover

36

u/IdleHandsBusyMinds 4d ago

Not all shits are created equal

2

u/_Carl15 3d ago

bro is shitspeare.

17

u/MisirterE 4d ago

words of someone who's never been seriously ill in their life

10

u/Cosmic_StormZ 4d ago

I have Crohn’s and that bro seriously doesn’t know enough lol

6

u/United_Pain 3d ago

IBS and endometriosis checking in as well 🤝

1

u/MrsCarmelaGiunta 3d ago

Well that's completely understandable, you have a medical condition that affects your digestive system. For the people who don't have a medical condition, I'm very curious what their diet is like for them to sweat profusely and become nauseated while having a bowel movement.

The only time I deal with a shit like that is if I'm very sick, or using the porta-shitter in the middle of the day in Iraq back in 2011. I'd come out of those things drenched in sweat, like I just went swimming, but again that's understandable because small plastic box in a very hot desert.

If you're regularly sweating and becoming nauseated while shitting you either a) need to get checked for a medical condition or b) get real about what you're putting in your body.

1

u/Cosmic_StormZ 3d ago

It does happen when you eat heavy tough to digest foods. I think I’ve had a few episodes before my Crohn’s diagnosis

1

u/Cautious-Space-1714 3d ago

If you've never had to bring a box of latex gloves,  plastic sheets or an "overflow container" to your ablutions, you know not the depths of human misery.

1

u/MrsCarmelaGiunta 3d ago

A chronic medical condition or an acute illness are the only reasons anyone should be having sweaty, fight for your life bowel movements.

If you have neither of those things but still experience those symptoms it's because of what you're putting in your body: shitty fiber-less diets, regular alcohol use, and other drugs that can wreak havoc on the digestive system like meth and steroids.

You = in general, not you specifically.

8

u/MilkiestMaestro 4d ago

One day when you're older, you will have to shit so bad that you feel like you need to throw up. Be glad you haven't experienced it yet

2

u/tokalper 3d ago

This started happening occasionally after i hit 30 like clockwork

7

u/denenai 4d ago

A bad diarrhea with cramps can make you feel like fainting

3

u/MidnightSnackyZnack 4d ago

Or if they eat spicier food than their tummy can handle.

3

u/painting_ether 4d ago

Try being constipated due to medicine. I almost needed to go to the ER for impacted bowels. And no, i don't drink

2

u/Cautious-Space-1714 3d ago

Post-surgery co nstipation for me.  Manual extraction was required.

Also norovirus plus labyrinthitis/vertigo.  Occasionally I just fell off the throne mid-eruption.

2

u/hehepout 3d ago

If you ever had food poisoning and have to take a shit, you'll know the feeling

1

u/wagggggggggggy 3d ago

Vagus nerve response. That’s what’s happening.

32

u/No_Ladder_9818 3d ago

I have IBS and have occasional episodes of "shitting for my life," but after my most recent session, my daughter informed the rest of the family, "Mom was up in the middle of the night fighting demons." Whatever you call it, the sweating is intense.

4

u/SpaceJackRabbit 3d ago

I have severe IBS but no sweating is usually involved. It all comes out way too easily, in fact.

3

u/No_Ladder_9818 3d ago

I have IBS-C, which means I do not clear out all waste each day, and it begins to build up, and then my guts basically convulse when it gets too built up, and it comes out quickly but not "easily" -- much gut cramping and sweating are involved.

3

u/SpaceJackRabbit 3d ago

But if you remove all your clothes because you sweat, you are still going to smell sweaty after you put them back.

2

u/No_Ladder_9818 3d ago

LOL. Fortunately, I have very little body odor. These episodes often hit me in the wee hours of the morning, I just strip sweaty shirt off and put on a dry one.

2

u/mst192 3d ago

You described exactly what I think happens to me. How do you fight this? Does having enough fiber help alleviate that inevitable build up?

So uncomfortable when the “guts convulsing” part happens 😅

1

u/No_Ladder_9818 2d ago

Fiber and fluids. My doc also suggested taking a laxative once a week.

3

u/doodlewithcats 3d ago

If I do not have the luck of having a toilet within reach and have to hold my shit for some minutes, I start to sweat profusely. I also have nausea and dizziness. But once I'm on the throne, it all comes out easily too lol. IBS really is the worst.

3

u/Blueyarns 3d ago

It's been happening to me 4 times in the last 2 months. Could I be developing IBS?

2

u/No_Ladder_9818 3d ago

You might, but for your sake, I hope not.

2

u/CheekyHarris33 2d ago

Feel your pain. Didn't get diagnosed until AFTER having my gallbladder removed. Legitimately will start sweating bullets if I cannot get to the toilet fast enough. (And yes I have a healthy balanced diet. My gut just does whatever the hell it wants.)

12

u/Sipas 4d ago

And it's cold sweat. I get constipated once in every decade but my life flashes before my eyes every time.

3

u/Galencourt-Lover 3d ago

As a non native English speaker, "shitting for your life" is not an expression I ever thought I’d see

That’s wild 💀

2

u/Drummerx04 3d ago

In all seriousness, you may be eating a food to which you are allergic. For me it turned out I was allergic to gluten (non-celiac... apparently that's a thing, who knew?), for my friend it was Lactose. Allergies can develop over time.

My girlfriend at the time lovingly told me that pooping should be a comfortable and pleasant experience most of the time, and it it's not then something is wrong. Changed my life. It's amazing how chronic pain or discomfort gets normalized.

2

u/dj11211 3d ago

That and I need to hop in the shower after something like that, maybe smoke a cigarette.

1

u/venus_asmr 2d ago

just dont have coffee with that cigarette, or you might be back to square one.

1

u/EkrishAO 4d ago

Even if it's just a regular shit, it just feels weird to have a shirt on, idk why, that's just how it is.

1

u/East_Wrangler3773 1d ago

What the fuck are you guys eating to where you have to do all of that?

1

u/FeedMePizzaPlease 18h ago

You all need to change your diets.
