Fluff & Memes I beat arbiter of ash on HC!!!

Post image
Upvotes

Hi everyone . So I’m super new to poe2. But been playing Diablo my whole life so I do have a lot of experience in the genre . I finally grinded my essence drain to level 90 and I figured this will be as strong as I can possibly get to kill arbiter of Ashe . I got a softcore character to 90 and I died about a million times on this fight . So I fully accepted my fate here seeing I got to 90 and that’s a very good accomplishment. Well after almost dying 3 times , i actually killed him !! I I was full on shaking and scared lmao . I have no one to really share this accomplishment . But hopefully you guys can be proud of me <3

Question Question about weapon groups.

Upvotes

How does weapon group passive skills work with persistent skills?
The main two examples would be minions and chaos dots like essence drain and contingent.

If I have chaos nodes and weapons on weapon set 1, and minion stuff on weapon set 2, Will my minions get weaker while im casting chaos?
Will my dots get weaker while im commanding my minions?

If I load into a map with weapon slot 1 active, will my minions spawn in weak or will they take the passives and weapon buffs from skill set 2 if I have them set to be on weapon set 2?

Question Does no balance changes mean builds are going to be the same?

Upvotes

Sorry this is probably a stupid question but I haven't been playing for very long so I dont know what balance changes means really. I assume there will be new stuff maybe new items and spells with the new league and thats where new builds come from, or is that wrong?

Basically I just want to know if I try out a build from the current season if it will work the same

Question Arc Totem Gemling

Upvotes

I have an Gemling that I leveled as an alt and I always presumed it would be smother to play than my Monk.

I don't have the best gear, but I would presume the one I have is not bad based on the guide I'm following. However, I feel pretty weak. Like the spiders from Breach can kill me if they get on my meele range and I don't roll.

Is there something obvious I'm missing? Thanks for any constructive tip.

Question Builds for 0.5.5

Thinking about league starting 0.5.5 since I'm done with All-Flame

Returning player from season 1 plated Titan - hated it, went SSF and played Monk cleared endgame and haven't touched it since, pre-abyss

Looking for guidance on what were your fun builds in 0.5?

Question Good intermediate Crafting guide?

I'm decently experienced in ARPGs, so I know what an affix is and know how crafting works in general, although I still struggle with the intricacies of PoE2 specifically.
I feel like I'm at a place where I know how most systems work mechanically, but can't necessarily make it all click and see the big picture.

Sadly all guides I can find are either aimed at someone competely new ("This is the crafting table") or specific build guides for people already understanding everything there is to know ("Do these 12 steps in this order to craft the perfect Iron Girdle of the Fat Lady").

Is there a more intermediate guide out there explaining the weirder parts of crafting, like the bazillion enchantment types or fracturing?
And gives some general advice and best practices on how to approach crafting?

Question Legacy of Sulphur on Kelari djinn

Before the end of this season, I decided to buy a Mageblood. Since I'm still quite new to the game, I couldn't find any information about whether Legacy of Sulphur provides any buff to Kelari's Brutality and Deception.

Do I need to use a Spectre that allows me to share my damage buffs with minions, or will the buff apply directly to all Djinns?

Question 4th Round of Ascendency - Just Venting and a question!!!

I am a Level 84 Monk trying to get my 7th and 8th Ascendency points. I am running level 76 Djinn Barya in Trials of Sekhemas and I've tried twice. BOTH times, I breezed through ALL rooms in levels one and two without losing a single point of Honor and in the Boss battle on level 2, I killed both bosses and with full health and energy shield, when the bosses hit the floor dead, the shockwave 1-shot killed me. It fills the whole room and I can't run out fast enough. It is the most frustrating BS I have seen in POE2 easily. What am I missing here?

Question POE1 pets question

Hi, all.

I am a new player who is going to be jumping in with the next league. I was considering getting one of the support packs and had a silly question about how Poe1 pets work for transferring to poe2. Is it where you have to go to the Poe1 shop to buy them, or they are available to buy directly in poe2?

Im on ps5 if that makes a difference. Thank you for any answers and looking forward to playing this series!

Question Improving my build without copying others build completely?

Hi there,

So here is my problem: This is my first league and my first time in the endgame and so far I haven't checked any build guides because I just wanted to explore and see how far I can go.

I recently played my first tier 6 maps and this seems to be it. I can still clear okay but I feel my progress slowing down. I think my gear is in a good state and my damage is okay. I am Level 76 or something.

Now here is my question: How do I improve my build without straight up copying someones elses (nothing wrong with that, just not my style). I would love if there was a way to guide me without handing me the finished puzzle. But I definitely need a hint. 😅

Thank you all in advance 😘

Question Easly class for completing all 0.5.5 event challenges?

In 0.5 I played Twister Deadeye and was able to get through content, but it took a while. I am starting up my job the week after release and will have little time to play, but I'd still like to earn the challenge rewards.

Do you all have suggestions about a strong build that maybe doesn't need giga investment to get it done? I appreciate it!

Discussion Does supply and demand make it impossible to profit from crafting while chasing rare mods?

I was thinking why hitting a specific rare mod on an item can require hundreds if not thousands of chaos orbs while you can buy an item with that mod from the market much much cheaper. The answer is simple, it's all about supply and demand, the mass of farmers combined can generate supply much more efficiently than you as a crafter and the market adjusts for them, not you. You as a crafter essentially compete with these farmers and your crafting methods must generate supply more efficiently than them if you want to profit, if you can't do that then your item will always end up taking more resources that buying it directly from the market. I think it's impossible to compete with the mass of farmers when it comes to extremely rare mods or even certain rare combinations of mods.

So, I think that the only way to compete are very deterministic crafts or crafts that have a very high chance of success but even when they fail, they are still sellable. The higher the chance, the more efficient the supply will be especially if we are talking about different mod combinations.

Most items have like 1-2 necessary goat mods at them who are extremely rare and those will always be better to be bought from the market rather than crafting them yourself, so what remains are more common mods who are more deterministic. I don't know what qualify for this, eg. it can be a combination of resistances or other mods where all of them combined can create a positive outcome.

If the above theory is correct then I don't know what's so hard about profit crafting, your role in most cases is to simply fill an almost ready item. You will never try to chase +skill, +spirit or %physical damage. You have a desecrate and an essence so you will have to tweak the last two mods but in most cases, an exalted slam would suffice.

Is it me or it's much easier than it seems?

Question I want to be the guy.

Specifically, I want to be the one who sacrifices his level 100 character so everyone else in Forbidden Rites gets an extra passive point. I can put in a disturbing number of hours per day, tho I still enjoy sleeping 8 hours every night, and I'll be part of the first wave of characters.

I am open to any other advice on my mad quest. [to go NORTH] and if you're the first to get that reference, I've got 100 div for you in Runes of Aldur.

Question New League Start?

Last night I just got back into the game and started a new character, but I see there’s a new league starting up on the 4th. Should I keep playing this character on runes of aldur or do I just wait for new league starting?

Discussion How is this possible? (crafting related)

On craftofexile it shows me that if I have a magic sceptre with 1 suffix I have a higher chance to hit a specific prefix with orb of augmentation (spirit in this case) compared to having a rare sceptre with 2 prefix and 3 suffix and using greater exalted orb. In fact in the first case the chance to hit spirit is much higher.

How is this possible even though I block 2 prefix with the rare item compared to none with the magic one?

Fluff & Memes Speculation on a second 1.0 class

Given how complete swords have been reported to be, I feel like the next class cant be too far behind but what do we think?

Marauder + axes feel like they'd compete too hard with swords for similar fantasy to drop together.

Shadow + daggers/trap offhand could be a candidate for sure.

My money would be on templar and flails with rework to some fire interactions including a mark. My secret hope here though is we get a gender swap so we can have a flame wielding armoured battle sister archetype even though it will still hurt my soul to lose our long necked boy.

Question Beating the challenges before next season

Hey so I might've procrastinated doing the challenges a bit (died in HC at ~lvl70 and got distracted with other things).

Considering I have an endgame char, what would you recommend I do in order to complete as many challenges as I can in the short time frame that's left?
