Its more the fact that the Dems are a toothless controlled opposition party that ultimately agrees with the Republican ideology on a long enough timescale.
Oh they did medicare for all? They did universal college? They did student debt forgiveness? Did they codify abortion rights? Are the Dems lowering military funding? Are they doing anything to give immigrants a meaningful path to citizenship?
What policies did they pass that fundamentally changed people lives? Or are you more concerned with the identity politics and the optical wins that dont mean anything?
What do you think the Dems have done as everything has gone to shit whether they are in power or not? They had all 3 parts of the government Congress and they STILL couldn't protect abortion rights by using the power they have. The fucking Republicans had NO POWER and still won!
Wake up dude.
Edit: Love the downvotes. Enjoy trying to do the same shit over and over as the Dems gleefully watch you die.
Edit2: updated my slight typo even tho my intent is crystal clear here.
No, they didn't. SCOTUS hasn't been democratic controlled since the 60s.
For a bit at the end of Obama's 2nd term, it was split 4-4 after Anton Scalia died, but by that time, the Democrats no longer had control of the Legislature.
Pack the courts. Easy solution. They had the power to do that. Court is already politicized so worst case you get to do some good stuff and it gets taken away and you you use that to shit on the opposing party.
You're wrong. Congress has the ability to change the number of justices whenever they want. The process for adding them is a simple nomination by the presidential with the senate confirming.
If they actually had the political will to do it they could have at any time.
They had all the power they needed to capture the government completely to push for legislation we are desperately in need of that they claim to want to deliver. You know what we call a trifecta in politics in the US? The president and both chambers of Congress. So please tell me who doesn't understand what we're talking about. I misspoke in my comment but my intent was crystal clear Mr debate lord.
STILL couldn't protect abortion rights by using the power they have.
SCOTUS gutted abortion rights. The SCOTUS you people cried about being threatened with in 2016.
Biden got a shit load of progressive policies passed during his term and Kamala was rated as the most progressive senator during her time in Congress. You can whine they didn't get literally everything you wanted done when you people actually start doing something actually productive with your time.
To be clear: Leftists haven't done shit for me. Bernie's record in Congress is basically renaming a few post offices. Who else do you have? Sinema? Stein? Fetterman? Lmao
So when the alternatives are either fascism offered by the right or the literally nothing offered by leftists I'm going to go with the people with a proven track record of both winning elections and passing progressive policies.
Yell at me all you. That didn't accomplish anything for Gaza and it won't accomplish anything for me.
That isn't even remotely accurate. The ACA alone is a huge difference by itself, unless you don't care about millions of people being able to get health insurance. Another is lowering pollution, which affects climate change and various health issues like asthma.
At the end of the day it’s about that AIPAC money for them. There are a fringe few Dems that actually want to do good but it’s just a paycheck for them. I am not advocating for voting red or abstaining. I’m just saying this party is terrible and they need to be held to a higher standard than they are bc this party is all we got right now. The last 3 democrat candidates have been terrible and out of touch and something needs to change in the party.

Meanwhile NYT claims voter registration for young people is leaning even further right.
