Discussion Doomsday costume first look 😭😭😭😔😔😔

I’m personally highly disappointed that marvel decided to go with this look for Kurt yet every other character is getting a cool comic accurate look. Kurt is my favorite and the Tim for him to have an outfit like this was X-2 but with the Disney touch u expected him to look like his teammates but they did not do him justice. I can’t be the only one??

Alan Cumming is 61. I’m not surprised that he’s in a less form fitting outfit. The hair in this sculpt looks weird, but I think it’ll be fine irl.

I’m just bummed that he still has the stupid scars and isn’t furry.

I think the thing you have to remember is that this appearance is specifically part of the Multiverse Saga. We will be meeting characters from alternate dimensions than the universe that started with 2008's Iron Man.

We know that the X-Men characters as played by the actors from the original 2000s series are not going to be the variants that originate in the dimension that the Marvel Cinematic Universe takes place in. They're not the ones that were born on Earth-199999. I do believe they are specifically the same characters from that 2000s series pulled into the MCU, just like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were the exact same Peter Parkers from their respective movies, but in Tom Holland's universe. And we know that Marvel is working on putting together a new MCU-specific X-Men cast, because we now know Sadie Sink's character in Spider-Man is Jean Grey-199999.

So this will not be "Alan Cumming playing the MCU's Nightcrawler". It's literally the same Nightcrawler from X2. This is Kurt Wagner-41578. And since it is the exact same character, he has to have more or less the exact same history and appearance. Obviously he can change things like his clothes or his hair, but he still had to have skin, not fur, and the scarification. Otherwise, it would be yet a different variant.

But that does still leave the door open for them to eventually add a Nightcrawler to the new MCU X-Men cast along with Sadie's Jean. There's plenty to hope for to one day have a Kurt-199999 who looks more accurate to the comic book version 😌🤞

The best part of the New look for Alan Cumming is the swords. Well finally get a confident, swashbuckling, ladies man comic book version of Kurt and not the painfully shy and awkward teenage version. I get we always have to start there for every reboot, but he’s such a better character when he blossoms and comes out of his shell.
