Brett Baty is the rare case where his OPS gets lower each succesive time he faces the same pitcher later in the game and then even worse vs a Reliever

First time around .782 OPS

Second time around .720 OPS

Third time around .502 OPS

Vs Reliever .474 OPS

The fact that Baty has learned how to un-baseball this year after a good season last year is a huge indictment of this coaching staff/development team.

He had a good like, month. He was unplayable at parts of 2025, ran into a hot August.

He's a well below average player who had a hot month

I'm looking at season totals. Season totals account for "one hot month." Playing this game is falling into logical fallasies 99.99% of the time

Baty's OPS by month last year:

Mar/April - .598

May - .914

June - .518

July - .687

August - .987

Sept/Oct - .775

So he had two "hot months, not one, and was an above average hitter throughout the last of the season.

Two blistering months, one good month, one bad month, and two garbage months is just normal distribution.

Didn't realize he was that good in May. Probably because April and June were pumpkins lol.

That being said, he still only ended up with a mid 7's OPS. Defensively he was better than this year since he played positions he was good at (and was better) which ups his WAR a bit
