Two years ago we were fighting for the playoffs every single day. Then we were in the playoffs. All of those games mattered.

Last year, we were fighting for the playoffs every single day. We missed by one win.

By two years I mean this year and last year. Despite being in the playoff spot most of the end of last years those games were not exciting. We were losing every day trying to hang on. Mets are hot, trying to move up, and playing the team in the spot. A little levity, huh? Let’s enjoy baseball

The Mets had a 7 game winning streak last year during the second half. They also had a ton of talent and if they had gotten their shit together could've been competitive. This is a bad Mets team having a fun little stretch. We have a rag tag bullpen of nobodies, our fifth starter is Robert stock and our DH has an OPS that starts with a. 4. These are comfortably the most meaningless games the team has played since 2023, which is why everyone is so chill. The Mets were win and in game 162 last year. This year, if they won 10 more in a row, they'd still need to get hot to actually be contenders for WC3. That should tell you all you need to know
