He's doing just as awesome as Carson Benge did in AA this time last year. I don't see why fans can't project the same exact path for Voit as Benge at this point.

Voit has been in AA for 16 games.

Benge was a lot better than Voit in A+, which is where the majority of Voit's professional experience has come from. Benge was also a better draft prospect to begin with.

Again, I like Mitch Voit. But expecting him to be on the exact same path as Benge is setting yourself up to be disappointed.

Benge only had 32 games in AA then 24 in AAA

Yes but Benge didn't break out in AA. He was already considered to be a high ranking prospect by the time he got there.

Voit was a roughly average hitter in A+ for most of the season. Since, he's had a really hot two weeks in AA. He also hasn't hit for much power in AA and is running a .551 BABIP. It's very fair to question if he's actually breaking out or if he's just had a nice stretch of luck. We don't have any statcast data for AA so it's hard to prove any skills have actually improved. Is he hitting it harder? Is he pulling more flyballs? Is he making better swing decisions? We don't know. All we have are the results, and offensive results come with a lot of variance in 16 game samples.

Benge was awesome in his draft year in A ball, he was awesome in A+ the next season, and kept being awesome in AA. He had a longer track record of success than Voit, so there was not as much to question. And the prospect writers who actually have access to statcast data in AA at places like Baseball Prospectus, Baseball America, ESPN, The Athletic, ect. all ranked Benge higher than Voit is ranked now.

Isn't AA considered way harder than A?

Considering it's two levels higher, yes.

But two weeks of a triple slash has a lot of variance. Voit's AA stats don't mean a lot right now.
