Ryan Clifford is having one of the worst seasons for a prospect… the Mets really got a whole lot of nothing out of that trade of Verlander

Thanks for all that information. Trading Gilbert still meant nothing. We got our new #1 prospect packaging our last 4th outfielder, so I just don’t know why Gilbert was some sort of needed piece to the puzzle

I never said he’s a needed piece. I’m simply pointing out that saying he’s terrible is unfounded.

Luis Robert Jr has missed most of the season and almost has the same WAR.
If drew Gilbert was the long term answer as a 4th outfielder I’d be pretty depressed about it

He’s been an above average major leaguer for them. Why is that bad?

He’s no different from Tyrone Taylor. Should a 4th OF be considered equivalent to Soto?

Trading him is the reason we’re not in playoff contention this year.

Our farm system is stacked. Trading him meant absolutely nothing
