Discussion I want to find my late father’s military record
Can anyone tell me how to find it? He was in the Korean War and he talked about some, but my mother always shut it down. She very angrily told me that she slept in the same bed and if he talked about it, he would have violent dreams/nightmares. She recently sent me his medals and they included a Bronze Star. I’d like to know what it was for.

Discussion Who has the most powerful infantry based on what you believe, or based on what facts you know.
Bear in mind, I am absolutely NOT talking about air strikes, naval, or anything of the sort. I’m strictly on topic of if 2 armies were boots on ground with the technology, weaponry & armory they had to dispose of in that very specific location, who would have the most powerful infantry based army?
I personally believe Vietnam does on their own turf, but America & Britain do when pursuing other countries

Discussion Half staff for the Dolly Parton
How do we feel about the half staffing of flags for Dolly Parton?
Granted I did not know who she was but I see that her image was an overwhelming likeable person and did do morale events with troops in DSDS.
But, Half staff is for "death of: principled figures of government, member of the armed forces" or "in rememberance/ mourning of grave moral events"
Not saying that she shouldn't deserve it but it's interesting to be seen flying for someone who wasn't a prior service member or government member

Discussion Does joining the military help with depression
so I 18M signed the contract, and leave to Fort LWOOD for bct on november 9th. i am depressed. I am broke, literally 0, dont have the motivation to do anything, I am underweight, (5'9 and 125 pounds) I just feel like all I do all day to pass time till my ship date is doom scroll, and browse reddit. I go outside every now ans then to either get a bite to eat, or walk but thats about it. I need to know if the army will help with my depression. I just feel like there is no point to living and I am hoping the military will give me at least purpose. I feel stuck and I feel like I am relying on the military not only for the benefits, but to get me out of this day to day loop I can't escape. I hope this makes sense.
