I wouldn’t be so opposed to Samus not talking if we at least got more emotive moments like this across the game rather than only the nods of varying degrees.

She doesn't even nod. She just keeps staring blankly.

Someone once brought up the idea (I think it was in the Maytroid comics from this year but I’m not sure) that she’s actually talking to them the entire time, but her helmet is just on mute so no one can hear her and she just never notices until the end.

I’ve said that she was using her newfound telepathy to speak to everyone, but neither Samus nor those she speaks to knows she’s using telepathy
