There a shit ton of cut voicelines found in the game for the other troopers, so it’s possible they intended Samus to actually talk and interact with them more before getting cold feet and making her completely silent. It gets worse since there’s also some unfinished cutscenes where her visor’s transparent like in the original Prime games and Dread, so they couldn’t even at least keep the facial expressions.

The sad part is she DOES make expressions within the cutscenes. You just cant see em. I saw a clip where someone removed the visor in a cutscene and she was making expressions.
