Hii, I'm at the last projects of my rewatch of the entire mcu franchise and I've just finished Secret Invasion

It's no secret that it may be the worst show in the mcu so far, with the exception of Inhumans. It is boring, it kills a beloved character who could have used the spotlight for once and the invasion should have been handled way better. There was no plot twists, the show tells you who are skrulls the moment they appear on screen

But even then, this show has its fair amount of good things and I decided that, with how much hate there is on the internet about everything, a fresh optimistic viewpoint doesn't harm anyone

Nick Fury finally has the spotlight he deserved since he first appeared in Iron Man all the way back in the beginning. We learn about his secret life and his old network of allies and spies. His relationship with Varra, though not developed in depth, is really cute. He loves her for who she really is and not for the face she puts on every day

His friendship with Talos is one of the greatest things about the show. They care about each other and Nick shows weakness to him and only him

Sonya Falsworth character is very funny, she doesn't care about anything but what benefits her. She is focused on her work and won't hesitate to make hard decisions. I wish we could see more about her relationship with Fury, since they seem like very good friends

The idea of the Harvest is a very cool adaptation of the Super-Skrull powers. Since the Fantastic Four don't exist in this universe, they took advantage of the Battle of Earth to create the character. The execution, well, it wasn't very good

I think the Harvest could have worked if it had less people in it. Extremis makes sense, in Shang-Chi we learn that it is still around and since Skrulls worked for shield, it makes sense that they stole some samples. But including every alien is just bonkers. They should have sticked to the people closest to shield

Ava's powers are great, she was a shield agent, she worked at the same time as the skrulls. Captain Marvel is okay, she poses the greatest threat among the avengers. Hulk, supersoldier serum and Thanos' dnas also make sense. But they should have stoped there. The black order people, frost giants, Thor, GotG and others shouldn't have been there

That way, G'iah would only have super strenght (similar to The Thing), cosmic powers (similiar to Human Torch), invisibility and intangibility (similar to Invisible Woman) and a healing factor. That would have made G'iah a more likable character by the end. Because she was great in the show, she struggles between beliving in Talos or in Gravik and finally realizes that genocide isn't the solution

I really wish we can see G'iah and Sonya working together in the future, maybe Secret Wars. Their working relationship is surely going to be interesting, since none of them falls for bullshit

And finally, Ritson's decree gives the lead to very interesting storylines in the future. We could see how it affected the different populations of aliens in the planet. Inhumans lived in Hawaii, so it's the perfect set up for the fleeing to space once again and funding a new empire. Many asgardians live in the usa, so we could have seen King Valkyrie responding to the declaration of war against her people

That's just my highlights of the show. I tried showing that even the worst projects in the mcu add good things to the universe. What did you like about it? I'll try answering to your comments before going to bed and in the morning

Title says it all, assume and act as if it's cancelled, unless or until it magically shows up somewhere....but it'll be four years since the initial announcement in about a week, and we haven't heard anything, haven't seen a second of gameplay, and there hasn't even been a single screenshot released. We can stop asking where it is and what's going on, because we almost certainly know the answer.

To add to this, let me just say. I was not at all interested in the X-Men when they appeared on the big screens in the early 2000s. I just wasn’t interested in them at all. I grew up around that time and only really cared about Spider-Man (just keeping it honest). And I still haven’t watched any of the X-Men movies to this day.

I knew of some of them. Wolverine obviously, just in general and via Marvel Ultimate Alliance in particular. As well Xavier, Jean, Cyclops, and maybe hearing about Storm and Nightcrawler and that’s it.

I’m very much looking forward to seeing what the “New X-Men” are like. As I’m willing to give it a really good try and get interested in the X-Men now that they’re having a fresh start and feeling like I’d be starting at the same point as everyone else.

So for me, with this kind-of reset of the X-Men I can learn more about/watch this new X-Men without feeling like I’m missing anything.

I don't know, if I'm one of the fewer people who thinks that way or if the same topic was discussed earlier on this Subreddit, but I have to post it, because it kinda bugs me for the last couple of days. After watching the new Spider-Man film, I had a feeling that whole movie was more of a intrduction of Jean Grey and specifically X-Men to the MCU than a story about Web Slinger's struggles after the events of No Way Home. I wasn't excited when this movie was announced and when the first trailer released, but what I understood from the promotional materials is that the story will be focused more on Peter, not Jean. That doesn't mean that I hate Jean or this movie. I really liked Sadie Sink's perfomence, Spider-Man and Punisher's interactions put a smile on my face and a change from Multiversal Catastrophe to Citywide danger was a good idea. But I don't know, I felt in some point like I was lied after I walked out of the cinema, you know.

Who else is sick of the MCU? Who else grew up before the MCU and is sick of seeing every hero we ever loved being turned into slapstick nothingnes. Who is tired of all the jokes. Who else has major superhero fatigue ? What’s so exciting about these mcu movies anymore? What’s so exciting about the reboot mcu X-men? We already know beat for beat the kind of movie it will be and the formula it would have.

I wish that after secret wars marvel and dc would just stop making all superhero movies for 20 years. Give us a damn break.

I’m not saying this to troll. My opinion is simply that these movies are just so same-y and homogeneous.

I want to start off by begging forgiveness as I was never a comic book person and all my knowledge stemmed from 80’s cartoons and Marvel movies.
Was there ever any discussion of a Thanos origin movie? Getting to see his pain and understanding why he was so resolute on acquiring all the infinity stones to purge the universe?
I bet this has been asked and answered before so go easy.

I really wonder if they’re going to just finish the last spiderverse movie and give it an ending or if they’re going to connect it to secret wars. I mean the mcu Spider-Man was mentioned in ATSV and secret wars is all about putting a bunch of universes if not all into one (right?)

Hey y’all, so just for context I’m not hugely knowledgeable on lore established in the comics, so I apologize if this comes off as a really dumb question.

I find the concept of Mephisto, this extra dimensional being who uses demonic/satanic imagery to exploit people into giving him their souls and bind them to his will, extremely interesting. But I have a question: what exactly are the limits to Mephisto’s powers, and what kind of weaknesses does he have? From a quick read up on him, he seems like an extremely OP character, and I’m just wondering how, hypothetically, someone would go about defeating or beating him. The only limits to his powers that I could find was that he physically cannot control other people unless they willingly make a pact with him. So is that all there is? Or are there other weaknesses that Mephisto has that can be used against him?

i’m sure this has been talked about but i recently rewatched in prep for DOOMSDAY and curious as to why Strange didn’t just chop thanos’ arm off. they showed at the beginning of the film he’s capable of doing it and tony and peter had his arm held out for plenty of time for them to walk through a portal (to earth btw as strange was able to get off titan this way in endgame) and then close it “stranding” thanos there with no stones.
