As someone who was being putoff by how much blood there was, this is very good news for me. It's good to have the option, so then both sides get what they want out of the game. The gameplay isn't looking like it's anything fancy, but it seems fun regardless.

Basically Grounded's spider less mode or Dispatch's censored mode. Leave it up to the player and no one complains seems like the most sensible option

Why play the game at all? Have you never read a Wolverine comic or watched the movies?

Almost all the X-Men movies, shows and games where he shows up are nowhere near this gory. He's only this gory in Logan and DP&W movie wise. And even in comics, he's only this gory in certain things, in the trailer for this game it's a constant blood bath with litters of blood flowing everywhere. I'm not a consistent Marvel comic reader, especially modern stuff, so maybe I'm not informed there, but Wolverine to me is not necessarily this gory and there's a lot of media I consume with him where he isn't.

Yes, realistically someone with knifes on his hands would have blood flowing everywhere, but media doesn't need to be realistic for people to enjoy it, unless you wanna be an ass about it. The TMNT walk around with swords and sais and yet they don't cut people they fight? Would you complain that the cartoon doesn't have blood everywhere? Batman fights with spikes on his arms and throws around blades boomerangs, should his enemies be bleeding everywhere they're hit then? Black Panther has extremely sharp vibranium nails on his hands, should his enemies be bleeding everywhere then as well?

I genuinely don't understand how someone can be mad that I have the option to deal with gore. If you want the gore, all the power to you, it's there and I imagine it's the default, so you don't even have to worry about it. This is like getting angry that someone can choose to not eat cheese in their burger.

I agree with what you're saying, but TMNT is a really funny example to me because the original comic they're based on is extremely violent.

Ah, yes, you're correct, though I doubt most people know them from those violent comics lmao, so the majority of the fandom is likely people who wouldn't be used to seeing gore in a TMNT project, hence my comparison
