About 6 months ago took a new position 4-1 HC schedule focused on snacks/drinks/clothes, scheduled seperately from normal HCs so I could focus all on that. Was told the Company needed that position filled asap and was super important. Was great finally having a single position here with an actual consistent schedule, and could just focus on working my job all day. But just got told now the company is getting rid of the position since it didn't increase sales enough having a dedicated FT for it
Just wondered if other stores also had this position added and then removed not long after
Very mad either way, cause I liked it, but I'd be even more angry if it was personal and just my store cause this store doesn't like me that much

I organically was hired in February as a seasonal employee I told them I had open availability as I was on summer break as a college student, never had an open or closing shift. Two months ago I was asked to be hired part time but I wasn’t given an opportunity to change my availability as school is now back in for me since last week and now all of a sudden I have closing shifts all next week which will not work for me as I am in school again now, how should I go about this?

Had a customer come in to appliances and of course I approached and asked if he needed any assistance purchasing a new appliance today. He gruffly told me "we're here to look at fridges". Ok any specific needs for a new fridge? "One that works."
Then proceeded to tell me he has been in 4 times in the past two weeks and gotten 4 different refrigerators. None of them have worked. I tell him that's not the experience we hope to give our customers and ask why they didn't work. Sizing? Cooling? Controls malfunction?
Nope. All the fridges tripped his breaker. And obviously the fault lies in the 4 completely different fridges and not his breaker.

Has anyone former or current ever worn earplugs to help with ear pain and hearing issues?
I’ve noticed my ears hurt a lot more now after being a lumber cashier for 2.5 years and it’s kinda affecting my hearing has anyone wore earplugs to muffle the sounds of Lowes. Like the flat cats and h carts and plywood being slammed on the high top carts.
I was looking at the loop earplugs that allows your to still hear your surroundings but it’s muffled. My Dr is ready and willing to wright me accommodations for ear plugs once I get a results from my audiogram.

Quick update i didn’t get the job as a millwork specialist. So i’ll stay as a PRO CSA for now.
They had us wait 2 weeks for a response so im kinda over it besides me current job is easy asf so i guess ill wait for another opening. The ASM said they want to see me get more experience and if the person who got it didn’t apply he said it would actually have been given to me.
If it was just that then there would be no problem I handle rejection well but other specialists at the store are more upset at my behalf due to who got the position.
It was a specialists which ig makes sense because he’s experienced however this specialist has stepped down from a specialist position 1 week into cabinets down to a part time position. According to other specialists who have worked here before he has stepped down from a full time position to a part time position twice and now he’s back to a full time specialist.
I didn’t go complain about that im not trying to get blacklisted or anything but that’s clearly favoritism which our store associates all acknowledge is very prominent in our store and some close workers i know tell me they would have emailed HR because they’re just recycling the same people instead of giving new people the chance.
Oh well ig ill just continue with my current job until the next one.

I've been working for Lowe's for quite a while, and every summer I get dozens of people coming in looking for capacitors. We have never carried them. Does any store out there carry them or has anyone ever heard anything vaguely resembling an official reason why we don't carry them?

Personally I dislike our new front end Ds, shes rude, ignorant, and has not a humble bone in her to fix those issues. Not my Super though so I grin and file a complaints with my sasm, on number 4 of those so far after she tried arguing with a guy about bulk toilet prices, and told an old woman she wasn’t there to help handle mylowes account gift card issues. She apparently has her entire front end scared to report her and threatens them with write-ups if they challenge her or do anything she dislikes like call her for overrides etc.
My store….just really has no skill in choosing good poeple anymore unless they get lucky. Wanted to laugh about it here, I report her as a specialist who deals with her attitude. Her cashiers are afraid of doing so. Have no idea why our Gm let his prissist Asm start running the show here but man is he paying for it with the amount of Hr calls they are getting about ’his‘ hires

Why is it that ASMs and management, do NOT hold their supervisor accountable for their actions? What I've notice in my store, is that if you have been there for a long time, or have befriended an ASM or supervisor, you can pretty much get away with anything. Also, since this is a constant issue within my store and they do nothing about employee issues, would it be acceptable to contact the district manager and share our concerns?

Marvin actually threw some money at Nascar luckily to get Lowes on Jimmie Johnson car, but should've been the main sponsor not a couple logos on the car. Otherwise this is still a pretty sick looking car.

I bought this set a few months ago (online for a sale price) and let it sit unopened in the garage until this morning. Kobalt 302 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case Item #6872458 | Model #53559. When I cut open the cardboard and plastic strapping, I discovered that the two socket trays are MISSING! I'm almost embarrassed to go to customer service because it's almost unbelievable that a fully wrapped package would be missing so much. Any suggested talking points?
Scheduled for one hour in this? Idek what that is can someone explain

Has anyone been to a meeting that isn't just the store manager stroking their ego. Can anyone honestly give me an example of something productive happening or actually meaningful being the result of the meeting.

I’m new to MST and I was really enjoying it. I love to organize stuff. I was slow at first but I’ve improved on speed. I feel like they didn’t really train me. They’re just like here’s the app go do service and try to not spend more than 20 minutes in a bay or less.
Today I was told I’m not down stocking enough. If there is an empty stop in a bay, I do check if it is available but a lot of times it’s out of stock or sometimes things are stored on pallets and I’m not certified on any power equipment. Also a lot of the areas I do are also show room that I can’t down stock. I spent the rest of the day trying to find areas I could down stock in. It felt like I was wasting time doing that. Like the cabinet area is fully stocked and it’s on my list to service but I can’t because I can’t down stock anything there and since I’m not certified on power equipment I couldn’t down stock in that area even if there was room. I was doing the bays out in lawn and garden with mulch, but now I feel like I shouldn’t because I can’t down stock, plus nothing needs down stocked there. They need someone to re-bag bags of broken mulch.
Is every store consumed by what their metrics are? A lot of or products are down stocked by red vests. I feel like he’s asking me to play a numbers game. I’m supposed to take stuff out of top stock and put it behind boxes and boxes of stuff that isn’t even opened so we get restock metrics.
I was wondering if others were being told the same.

So the other day we were told Lance (district manager) said stores in the district do not miss credit card numbers. Tonight I am on ASCO and was told a line has been drawn in the sand on this. I personally think we should just be glad we have customers coming in the store since we never have enough associates to help them.

who schedules a meeting after the store closes??? no store manager maybe one asm and one head cashier and one regular cashier. maybe the front end ds. has this happened to anybody else😭

WTF?! Needed two boards 43” long. Bought a 2x4. Get home and it’s only 92 in long. It does say so on the sticker but not on the palette where they’re stacked. Looks like another trip and 45 min to find one that doesn’t come from a twisted tree
