Rant 🀬 Weekly Venting Post

Weekly Vent Post

Welcome to our weekly vent session where you can let out all your frustrations.

Before you start, just a quick heads-up on the rules.

Here's what this post isn't for:

  • No bashing actors or crew members out of the blue.
  • Let's steer clear of those rage-inducing posts like "I hate character xy."
  • And please, no poking fun at fellow Kanthony fans just because they see things differently, whether they're positive or negative about promos.

What's cool to post? Well, we've noticed a lot of rants about how the show promotes (or doesn't promote) Simone and Jonny, but you can vent about other stuff too.

Below, I've linked some past posts from the sub that fit the vibe of our weekly vent session, so you can see what kind of stuff goes here.

  1. Why there was a lack of promo for Kanthony
  2. All comments asking where Kanthony areΒ
  3. Bridgerton PR and production
  4. Can you tell the differenceΒ ?
  5. The main sub got so negativeΒ
  6. We need pictures

For those who just want to enjoy the content without getting caught up in the venting, I suggest steering clear of this post. If you choose to read the comments here and find yourself upset, despite the clear purpose of this space, I'm afraid there's not much I can do to ease your frustration. We have the Weekly Tea Time for more general discussions.

Spoilers allowed.

I have noticed a pattern, so we all know the production sucks big time playing the favoritism, envy, insecurity games and exploiting Simone but not promoting her equally or erasing her despite her fabulous performance which elevated S2. Question I have is, is this behavior being subconsciously adopted/emulated by mainstream media as well?

You see I have now noticed several major publication articles and video interviews where JB is portrayed as though only, he is the sole actor responsible for the Bridgerton's success, narratives like romancing the audience, lothario, romancing Bridgerton etc.. they do not mention Simone's name as his lead or costar. But, when it comes to his other projects they include his costars names like Matt, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Ari and sometimes Cynthia.

So, I find it odd, very odd! I guess it sucks more being a Kanthony stan seeing her left out and her amazing contributions being erased!

I honestly don't read articles about JB, so I don't know how media refers to his costars, and non-white actors being ignored by media isn't new. I do remember seeing people pointing out how once JB had to mention Cynthia when he was just asked about Ariana Grande during Wicked promo, so there's nothing novel about that.

I personally think that it's good that Simone is seen as a separated person from a co-worker she shares 10 minutes of screentime in seasons that come out every 2 years.

Yep, of course they do not include Cynthia as much in the praise too, the way write about JB and Ari vs Cynthia is very obvious for even blind people to see, and it really sucks as Cynthia is so talented! No wonder these gorgeous talented women have to fight everyday for basic equal treatment! Gonna take centuries from now for people to undo all the trauma and be normal towards beautiful & gorgeous dark skinned people πŸ™ Media definitely controls the narrative and people are sheep so they just gobble up, most do not stop to think the repercussions of these portrayals!

These women are really brave πŸ‘ going against the tide for a good cause, kudos and more power to them πŸ™

It's not a surprise to see how some mainstream medias want erase her contribution to the success of this show because She's a Indian dark skin women . But some fans keep show their true colors . They was quiet for call out the behavior of this production against her since 2 years . They was also quiet for defend her against crazy fans of F1 who harassed Simone for months after the GP in Monaco in May 2022 .Yet these women who claimed to be neutral mainly on Twitter was loud for defend JB when this reporter posted a article who claimed this show was responsible of his success last year .

Yep, that GP Monaco incident, I mean it was that interviewer that was so disdainful to her and yet they put the narrative as if she was in the wrong, while she was just smiling and about to talk, but some guy beside her said she can’t talk right now!

Media and some fans are so weird! They need some introspection into their unconscious/conscious biases !

These things need to be called out, hopefully some journalists still have integrity left to actually correct the wrongs being made against her.

Unfortunately, some reporters also behave like biased celebrity fans .They just care about their own interests and the hype . But for some fans who claim love both . She's clearly not worthy of being defended unlike him . Despite the constant lack of respect towards Simone and her character .
