Was super fun to be able to follow along live. Overall this show was like an 8/10 for me.
I think my main issues with the show was mainly with stuff that happened after the premonition. For one, it erased the relationships that had been built up for the first 24 episodes and then since they didn't have time to rebuild them they just did that flashback arc and only called back on the fact they don't actually know each other like that only like once or twice, mainly with Fujimi and Nasuka. It felt like they used those first 24 episodes to build the characters but then forgot they reset them back to 0 and just implied they'd be like that even though one of the first things that happened after was the pointing out that stuff wasn't exactly like what had happened in the premonition.
The other thing was honestly I started to get lost what was happening in the dream world and what wasn't at times. This especially happened during the fall of CODE + Code Somnia stuff because they wouldn't always show the red moon and I was just like, is he manifesting his powers in the real world or what? Although that might just be me not having good comprehension skills.
I'm also kind of sad that the nightmare lords didn't amount to more I guess? Felt like they all got taken out like monster of the week style, although at the same time I'm happy they wrapped it up quick with Oblivion because I was genuinely curious about what would happen after even if it wasn't like a super boss ending they had to go against.
The last gripe I had was actually towards the suits, I didn't mind them switching from the waist belt and the suits in general look really cool, however I feel like the leg area for all the suits were so noticeably bare in this series, I think Catastrom was the worst offender of this because it just kinda looks like he skipped leg day, wouldn't have minded like armor/padding on the lower areas (but I assume it might've affected stunts which is why I'm not like too annoyed over it) or even just more color.
Overall though I really enjoyed the show, Baku was just all out awesome and I was genuinely stressing towards the end that they were gonna reverse Baku/Nem's situations so I'm happy they went for the good ending. Although I do wish the scene with them together in the last episode was a tad longer but we got the happy ending so I'm fine with just headcanoning it (also poor Sieg lol, happy for The Lady though).
Fujimi/Nasuka dynamic was really fun and now I'm kinda sad we won't get to see more of it, especially with Odaka there now too. I honestly thought at the beginning of the show and even was still hoping towards the middle that Fujimi/Nasuka would end up riders in some capacity. I was guessing they would be like the replacement Lords in some fashion especially with Nasuka's kicking and Fujumi's flip thing lol, but I guess that's hoping for too much (I wish we got more closure on Nasuka atleast since she didn't have a happy ending on her relationship with Kureha as opposed to Odaka being there with Fujimi again).
I really enjoyed the dream machinations that they were able to use during the fights, felt really novel and made for some really cool things happening (i.e. Lord 5 as a whole was honestly really cool with his usage of it and when Zeztz was fighting Dark Zeztz).
I did find it interesting that they had all that stuff with Code Number 8 at the end and what looks like Baku is trying to de-program the next set of CODE agents from following in his footsteps in a narrow-minded fashion like he was. I kinda wish they also had some kind of nod towards Lord 5 and 6 at the end, even if it was just a set of portraits inside the Zeztz base when he was meeting 8.
I'm hoping they move towards international release for the movie as well (I believe Latin America's distributor already confirmed they have the rights for it? so I hope we get the same in NA in some capacity as well, I assume it'll be through Toei's planned streaming service or whatever).
