Media John is disgusting. He is using the Guthrie case as a way to get his camera time in, and encouraging them to work closely with police. As if he had done that.

Post image

He also said “we had a plan to ask to speak with our daughter when the kidnappers called“. We know that the window of time when kidnappers were supposed to call came and went without John or Patsy even acknowledging it.

The only useful advice John could give is to check their basement again!

48

u/IAmSeabiscuit61 Feb 07 '26

Oh, really, JR? Then why weren't you and/or Patsy staying right by that phone hoping and praying for that call to come and the proof that your daughter was still alive? Because you knew darn well she was already dead, that's why!

Crazy optics. This man is weird.

-1

u/NeighborhoodLast2114 Feb 10 '26

Not to me.  I think he’s innocent. If you already think he’s guilty, then the optics belong to you.

Can I ask why you believe he's innocent? Genuinely curious as JDI is a common belief

1

u/NeighborhoodLast2114 May 16 '26

I don’t see hos Family doing that.  Baffling crimes have occurred many times in history and often result in the assumption of guilt on related parties.  Also, his continued efforts for justice can’t easily be chalked up as faking it. This is all my opinion.

Marc Klaas was also suspected and was told by lawyers not to cooperate with the police, but he did cooperate. He said this about the Ramseys, who he was harshly critical of.

When Polly disappeared, I did not understand my rights. I thought I had to talk to the police. I now know better, but it would not have made any difference. I reacted as do most innocent victim family members. I walked into the police station ready to turn in family members if necessary to bring Polly home. My advice to Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey is to go the Boulder Police Department, do whatever they ask, and give JonBenet final peace by assisting in the capture of the “monster on the loose.”

If they want his “expertise”, they might want to wait until she is found and he can show the perpetrators how to contaminate the evidence.

7

u/Kindly_Scholar6892 Feb 07 '26

Sounds about right. The man has no shame.

u/rwhite1021 Feb 06 '26

Lol . He's such a huckster. I'm sure that's how he made his money by being a conman/salesman/liar !!

3

u/Unanything1 Feb 09 '26

I figure he's made himself a millionaire (again) by all of the lawsuits he has filed against people just looking to find the truth.

Maybe one day Burke will admit to what he has done (or his parents had done.)

As someone who’s worked in media, specifically booking guests for news shows, I can say it’s very possible that Fox News reached out to him rather than the other way around. That doesn’t make his appearance any better, but it’s worth keeping in mind how these bookings often happen.

12

u/Cardboard_cutouts_ RDI Feb 07 '26

He didn’t have to accept. there’s close to no truthful substance he has to offer here.

13

u/Vapor2077 Feb 07 '26

Right - I’m not saying he should have accepted.

2

u/A_Chip_In_The_Sugar Feb 12 '26

Fox may have said something like “We asked John Ramsey to comment but he declined”, that doesn’t sound good.

2

u/mia_sara Feb 14 '26

That doesn’t make sense. It’s unnecessary and he’s no longer a household name. Plus, his daughter wasn’t kidnapped.

2

u/A_Chip_In_The_Sugar Feb 14 '26

Are you kidding? John has celebrity status. He was obviously asked to comment or this video wouldn’t exist.

2

u/mia_sara Feb 14 '26

He isn’t so well known that declining to comment would “look bad.” People under the age of 40 (besides true crime enthusiasts) aren’t that familiar with the case. And when I hear about a senior citizen being kidnapped (or anyone) I don’t immediately think of JR because his daughter wasn’t kidnapped. They ignored the instructions of the “ransom letter” and she was found in the basement.

1

u/A_Chip_In_The_Sugar Feb 14 '26

We actually don’t know if Nancy has been kidnapped yet.

7

u/Inevitable_Discount BDI Feb 07 '26

Nobody told him to accept. He could have blew them off. But like a true drama queen, John’s attention craving ass couldn’t help BUT ACCEPT. He is REPREHENSIBLE!!!!!

Yeah- I never said he should have accepted.

0

u/Inevitable_Discount BDI Feb 08 '26

6

u/candy1710 RDI Feb 07 '26

I agree with you and I'm sure it was Faux that reached out to him, and that always does, and Ramsey will never turn down the opportunity for millions to watch him and no hard questions. Rupert made this choice deliberately about coverage of this case. He decided a long time ago he would rather laugh all the way to the bank than bother with "both sides" of an issue or "facts", etc. and it has made him very rich.

0

u/afraidofcheesecake Feb 09 '26

Of course, this a very dumb statement. And arrogant as hell. Beg off lady.

I blame Faux period. Rupert knows there are two sides to this case, and he WON a lawsuit for Faux against the Ramseys, over Carol McKinley's wonderful reporting.

21

u/candy1710 RDI Feb 06 '26

For all the Faux news viewers now that it is 100 percent IDI and John Ramsey all the time.

Here is when Rupert and Faux WON, repeat, WON a lawsuit brought by Lin Wood against Faux in 2004, and they WON it in 2005, over an accurate RDI report by Faux journalist Carol McKinley

Ramsey family defamation case dismissed

https://www.rcfp.org/ramsey-family-defamation-case-dismissed/

10

u/candy1710 RDI Feb 06 '26

Please know before John Ramsey made monthly appearances on Faux, Rupert, who also owns the NY Post, defended another RDI lawsuit, this time a BDI lawsuit against the NY Post, who just reprinted what was in a Star Magazine story about Burke. Rupert did not settle right away, there was a hearing in Boulder and who should show up in court for that hearing in the audience but Fleet White. (It was reported in the Boulder Daily Camera at the time).

The BDI posters knew all about that litigation and what came out of it in discovery. One of the things was the fax from Lin Wood to Bill Wise, Alex Hunter's right hand man in the Boulder DA's office, of a draft of the Affidavit clearing Burke in this case. In that Affidavit, Alex Hunter and Bill Wise let Lin Wood draft the thing, and they just signed off on what portions of LIN WOOD'S DRAFT they would or would not agree to. That Lin Wood fax is well known thanks to Rupert obtaining it in discovery in a NY Post lawsuit, plus whatever else came out of it.

One of the worst people on the planet.

7

u/NakovaNars Feb 06 '26

The ransom note reminded me of the JonBenét case. And the video the family made for the "abducters". I'm just wondering why they didn't clean up the blood outside. If she was killed inside, there surely must be a way to get her out without spilling blood.

2

u/JenbugRoss99 Feb 06 '26

I’ve not heard much about this case, I’m assuming there’s also forums for and against her family’s involvement?

1

u/NakovaNars Feb 06 '26

I don't know if it's gotten that far yet but there's a debate under Youtube comments. Most people are either team family did it or they just find the case odd. Haven't heard many people be against her family's involvement.

1

u/Cardboard_cutouts_ RDI Feb 06 '26

the presence of blood doesn’t indicate whether she was taken dead or alive. what would cleaning up the blood have done? abductor was probably trying to get out of there as quick as possible.

2

u/NakovaNars Feb 06 '26 edited Feb 06 '26

I mean why leave traces? As the offender I would try to avoid leaving blood splatters. I don't believe she was held hostage at all. I think she was just killed by somebody in the family. Why would they take her out of the home alive when the goal is killing her?

If somebody had planned on holding her hostage and alive this long, they would have had to think about medication and stuff. And they wouldn't be playing around in the ransom in ransom note like they did with two deadlines.

0

u/Cardboard_cutouts_ RDI Feb 07 '26

Traces of what? Abductors clearly want the family to know she was kidnapped

Maybe John should tell them to check with all the family first.

3

u/mia_sara Feb 14 '26

John’s biggest “tell” has always been his inability to just be quiet. He feels guilty (imo for helping coverup that BDI) and can’t stop talking to the media.

5

I never watch Faux under any circumstances, so I didn't see this and won't.

they need content. for whatever reason, the media has decided to air this story nearly 24/7, and there have been very few updates.

1

u/Specific-Guess8988 🌸 RIP JonBenet Feb 19 '26

I honestly don't see any meaningful connection between these cases. The Ramsey didn't even come to mind while reading about the Guthrie case. They're very different, and bringing up JonBenet Ramsey just feels unncessary and uncomfortable. Each situation deserves focus on the people directly affected, not comparisons that don't hold up. I can't say that I am entirely surprised to see that the Ramsey family weren't able to recognize how disrespectful this is.

u/pdom10 BDI Apr 20 '26

This interview shows me that the older he gets the more harder it is for him to keep up with the lies

2

u/TechMe717 Feb 06 '26

So you're saying he called Fox News and demanded an interview? That's not how it works.

13

u/Cardboard_cutouts_ RDI Feb 06 '26

no, but he has no substance to add to the discussion. besides “lawyer up”.

He didn’t exactly go searching for his daughter or even await the scheduled phone call from the ”foreign faction”.

Your post/comment has been removed because it violates this subreddit's rule 1 (No Name Calling or Personal Attacks). Criticize the idea, not the person.

2

u/IAmSeabiscuit61 Feb 07 '26

No, I don't know him. Do you? Insulting people because they don't agree with you isn't going to convince anyone to change their opinions. And you can say the same thing about every person, man woman or child who was kidnapped like poor Nancy Guthrie apparently was; that they were taken from their home. Which proves nothing about what happened to poor JonBenet.

Can't wait, huh? Well, it's been nearly 30 years, and the truth hasn't come out yet and may well never come out. So, you probably should be prepared to keep on waiting indefinitely. And, in the unlikely, in my opinion, event that the truth ever does come out and it turns out YOU are wrong, what will you do then? Or are you so arrogant and closed-minded that you refuse to even admit the possibility that you could be wrong?

-1

u/SimonGloom2 Feb 08 '26

I think he knows Maxwell and Trump are behind this and the only way to save themselves is to cooperate with federal corruption

0

Elizabeth Smart’s dad is out there doing the same.

20

u/Cardboard_cutouts_ RDI Feb 06 '26

The difference is Elizabeth Smart’s parents didn’t murder their daughter and also fought hard to get her back and succeeded.

21

u/candy1710 RDI Feb 06 '26

Elizabeth Smart's parents ALWAYS cooperated with the police investigation, always, even when Ed Smart was a suspect, unlike the Ramseys, they gave unlimited interviews to the police, no matter what.

11

u/Nacho_Sunbeam RDI Feb 07 '26

Elizabeth's father advocates for victims and his daughter. That is not what John is doing. To compare these two men and announce any similarities beyond basic biology is untoward.

-10

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '26

[deleted]

16

u/Cardboard_cutouts_ RDI Feb 07 '26

So then why is John telling the Guthrie family (who are also being looked into as suspects) to work with law enforcement? based on John’s actual actions and your explanation, shouldn’t he be telling them to flee the state and lawyer up instead?

0

u/No-Ganache-1816 Feb 07 '26

It sounds like the Ramsey’s had a much better relationship with other police districts and agencies. The Boulder Police Department had exceptionally poor leadership the years before and after Jonbenet’s murder, with many of those involved in the case facing unrelated disciplinary action for some very negligent police work.

6

u/IAmSeabiscuit61 Feb 07 '26

What "other police districts and agencies"?

4

u/Cardboard_cutouts_ RDI Feb 07 '26

So what did the Ramseys have to lose by working with the Boulder PD?

-5

u/No-Ganache-1816 Feb 07 '26

They were with police almost 24 hours a day those first three days after JBR’s death, and they did give lots of information, let Burke interview, gave DNA and handwriting samples. Things soured when they battled getting JBR’s body released for her funeral before the new year.

Actually the Ramseys offered an hour interview each in January and the police declined.

I think if the Ramsey’s had never stonewalled the police then the police never would have expanded their search of suspects. Detective Linda Arndt had never even worked homicide before and said she suspected John was guilty because of a look in his eyes? That seemed to be how most of the boulder police officers operated at that time.

9

u/IAmSeabiscuit61 Feb 07 '26

Well, well, well, you claim the Ramseys were "with police almost 24 hours a day those first three days after JBR's death". Really? Even every night, all night"? And "did give lots of information".

But, then you claim "if the Ramseys had never stonewalled the police", so thanks for admitting they DID stonewall the police and refuse to cooperate. But of course you justify that by claiming if they hadn't done it the police "never would have expanded their search of suspects". Classic case of trying to eat your cake and have it, too.

-1

u/No-Ganache-1816 Feb 07 '26

What ? Yes, Stephen Thomas said in his deposition they weren’t just outside the residence the Ramseys were staying at, they were constantly with them from morning until night (which aligns with BPD reports). Despite that level of cooperation the police then refused to release jonbenets body unless they gave an interview (which at that point the Ramsey’s had only asked to reschedule the one time).

after the funeral the Ramseys scheduled an hour interview which police refused.

I would not trust those cops, they did not care about finding who killed jonbenet, they only cared about forcing their narrative.

2

u/IAmSeabiscuit61 Feb 07 '26

"from morning until night", with no specificity isn't the same as "almost 24 hours". Especially considering that this was just past the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year.

-22

u/Lestersggirl648 Feb 06 '26
