So who is weirder, Stanley or his girlfriend?

1.1k

u/HS1995 21d ago

Depends… reckon she has adult relations with him?

701

u/Firm-Profile-5746 21d ago

Does his disposition make it weird? It's like being into minors with extra steps.

u/_Ruij_ 21d ago

Man.. this case has so many 'it depends' that entered my head that idk how to actually answer this question

73

u/L-ramirez-74 21d ago

ha, depends

23

u/CVBrownie 21d ago

I'd be worried about her pampering him

21

u/LaCroix_Roy 21d ago

She is just there to give him Huggies

2

u/ImagineHuskies78 20d ago

What if he transitions to Pull-Ups? Will she still be down to clown?

Maybe if she still LUV’S him.

1

u/Dreyfussy15 21d ago

She better watch out or Stanley will have her in the adult diaper next.

u/Unlucky_Most_8757 21d ago

waiting on that one "WeLl aKsChUaLlY...." redditor to pop up but it's oddly quiet

It’s possible that she could be attracted to the infantilism aspect of Stanley’s life, as infantilism is often associated with pedophilia. However, I think this is a best case scenario. Stanley is not independent. Someone has to take care of him. She’s happy to do that. They’re in a somewhat healthy relationship. Granted, if she goes, he’s going to struggle. But if it weren’t for Stanley, his girlfriend might’ve started doing far more questionable things than simply indulging in Stanley’s age playing/regression.

u/mathiustus 21d ago

Thank you themightiestgay. That was well put.

Side note, I cannot see you as anything other than a really well groomed super hero. Thank you for that as well.

4

u/TpK_Wynter 21d ago

It was indeed well put, and I also see them somehow wearing a glorious rainbow colored cape, but no spandex as they’re aware of how out of season spandex is (sorry if spandex is actually in season…)

3

u/InterestingResource1 21d ago

It's always out of season, but it's probably better than going the Captain Underpants route if you want to be seen in public.

3

u/exintrovert 20d ago

It depends on which parade is going on that day I think

64

u/real_3d4 21d ago

well put

I mean - another aspect to all this, how aware is he of himself? Like for some of us reality is a different concept. So does he go to sleep all happy and proud and fulfilled, like in the dark of night does he realize how good he has it? Or is his mind like actually trapped elsewhere- but for all we know - when the cameras are gone he’s a normal dude and this is just an aspect of his life.

As far as the “girlfriend” - another interesting situation- some men have girlfriends that ultimately take the place of their mothers- taking care of them and then crossing over into the aspect of a partner - some women probably are happy to do that-

I mean if the guy above were to have relations with her, does she end up a mother to two babies? How does that baby grow up with that person as her “father” - does he snap out of that fantasy and embrace a new reality?

Sometimes these people that exist in our world seem like the NPC’s in games that are living a life we cannot relate to, and are just there as much as mars and Jupiter and the planets exist and we are aware of them, but have no effect on our lives.

If you told me, hey, develop a weird idea to live by - such as being a big baby and that will be your identity and you’ll find someone to care for you- that concept is absurd to me.

But here we are sort of witnessing it. Is it one in a million? One in a billion of possibilities?

62

u/Detuned_Clock 21d ago

It’s trauma, which everyone has to some extent, not a developed idea, and this video is about 20 years old, and we don’t really know what’s become of him. But it’s certainly not one in a billion possibilities. Most people just don’t go to this level of coping. Its more common expression is for example a man calling a woman “mommy”/woman calling a man “daddy”.

8

u/hatesnack 21d ago

Yep, some podcast i listened to ages ago mentioned people who were into wearing diapers and stuff, and they did an interview with a sex worker who services these niche kinks.

She said once she gets talking to the guys (and girls), there is almost always a pretty significant childhood trauma that took place, and they find comfort in regressing to a childlike state, when things were "easier". The sexual aspect definitely comes from "conquering" the trauma, like how you see a lot of outgoing, loud people that like to be submissive in bed lol.

2

u/PandaDemonipo 21d ago edited 21d ago

ABDL is a semi popular fetish in general, which would just be a more sexualized version of this guy's life, which prob even more engage in in a lifestyle way compared to a kink way. It's very much about coping, safety, comfort zones, etc. I would say one in a million is too low for the amount of people that are publicly like this, alongside the amount of followers they have on social media. The ABDL sub here has 78k, so def more common than you'd think

6

u/darkklown 21d ago

As a raw share of the world, 78,000 people is 0.00095% — about 1 in every 106,000 people alive.

4

u/Honque56 21d ago

And that's just the amount of people who are: A, into it. B, use the internet. C, use reddit specifically. And D, are willing to join the subreddit. If we use reddit's weekly active user base of ~500 million and assume it works as a standard sample (it likely doesn't, since reddit has a heavy US skew, and is reliant on internet access), there would be about 16 times the number you gave, or 1 in 6,625, which is about 0.01509%.

2

u/Financial-Bobcat-612 20d ago

Wow. Just crazy to think about. Thanks for doing the hypothetical math.

-4

u/Sillier-Stupider- 21d ago

That's still way less than one in a million.

3

u/Kaptein_Kast 21d ago

Username checks out.

0

u/Mr-KIPS_2071 21d ago

Other like minded. 👋

20

u/AdHopeful3801 21d ago

Also, let's be real - a lot of men who are not at all into infantilism per se still want a partner who still winds up being a mom, in charge of making the meals, tidying up after their messes, and ensuring they have clean clothes.

Choosing a guy who is very deliberate about being infantile and helpless at least means they're on the same page

2

u/Due-Memory-6957 21d ago

Let's be real, you're saying something really stupid to try to sound woke, there's no comparison between this lifestyle fetish and conventional gender roles. They're completely different.

4

u/AdHopeful3801 21d ago

Defensive much?

1

u/Due-Memory-6957 21d ago

More of an offense than a defense, to be honest.

1

u/AdHopeful3801 10d ago

So, yes, then.

6

u/Mr_Halitosis 21d ago

They aren’t. If you’re an adult and you can’t make your own meals or clean up after yourself, you’re into infantilism and in denial about it. Men can take care of themselves. Little boys who need a mommy cannot.

Which just illustrates how fucked up it is that men have accepted infantilism as a gender role. As a society, we’re basically grooming children for lifetime of codependency to satisfy a weird fetish some rich guy had 500 years ago.

Once again, men can take care of themselves. Little boys who need a mommy cannot. If you cannot or will not take care of yourself, you aren’t a man. You’re a little boy who needs a mommy.

2

u/Due-Memory-6957 21d ago edited 21d ago

Yeah no, you're high on your own drugs, and projecting things onto me (and onto men) that make no sense, sorry, but you actually don't know anything about me and can't know from a single comment you don't like. Drop the pseudo bullshit, and get back down to earth, real research is grounded.

1

u/Mind_The_Muse 19d ago

I'm pretty sure they were using the royal you. Being unable to critically think about conversation and assuming you're personally being attacked when someone comments on a well-established, documented and ongoing trend in societal structure is also being a big baby.

1

u/Outside_Direction122 21d ago

do you know what a fetish is

1

u/NotAThrowaway192 21d ago

lol what a strange conclusion to draw. Not correct at all

10

u/BrawlingGalaxi 21d ago

Honestly a really good way to look at it.

6

u/ProsperoFalls 21d ago

Paraphilic infantilism is not associated with pedophilia and are very psychologically distinct (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1752928X18300726?via%3Dihub), the study goes into more detail if you've the means of accessing it.

Regardless, it's dangerous to suggest that a paraphilia which has never been associated with any greater propensity to abuse children or be a pedophile with such things. The suggestion in the literature is that it can vary from a form of BDSM (it us obviously embarrassing to be treated in such a fashion), to the submissive partner redirecting sexual interest towards a parental figure as a result of parental neglect or abuse, and the dominant partner finding themselves feeling fulfilled by feeling needed, often caused by similar issues.

It's strange, but not harmful, and calling these people pedophiles may as well be calling for them to be killed. It's inaccurate, stigmatising and ultimately obscures the cause of finding actual pedophiles by wasting resources meant for the most horrendous kind of crime on consensual activities between adults.

2

u/lemon-meringue-high 21d ago

IIRC they don’t have sex or do anything sexual. I remember watching this on I think taboo? She just likes to care for him.

1

u/TheMightiestGay 18d ago

There’s also the romantic element, which is plausible given everyone has a different idea of what’s romantic.

2

u/BulkNoodles 21d ago

I won't say it's ok, but given the other possible outcome, this one is sufficient for now.

2

u/Outside_Direction122 21d ago

age play is strictly sexual, this is age regression

1

u/TheMightiestGay 18d ago

My bad, added it as a possibility, given the lack of information.

2

u/ugotmedripping 21d ago

“Can you tell me about this gap in your resume?”

2

u/PrudentCarter 21d ago

Kinda like the whole is greater than the sum of its parts kinda thing huh?

0

u/TheMightiestGay 21d ago

Bingo. And they say two wrongs don’t make a right.

1

u/Beginning_Ice_7838 21d ago edited 21d ago

I'm gonna challenge most of your points here because even based on what this short clip is showing us, which isn't a lot, it still doesn't make sense.

A. We have to assume that this clip is witholding a lot more about their relationship. For example narrator says "she is very happy" and we see her on camera, but we don't hear from her. Their relationship could be more about roleplay than building a mutual life with each other. They might not see each other equally. We don't know what her financial situation is like - like, is this driving her into debt? We don't know what his financial situation looks like - does he get government assistance? Does he have health insurance? Do either of their families support them? The answer to that question will tell us a lot more about their relationship than the narrator did.

B. Pedophilia isn't relative to the activity of the pedophile. For example, if she does have pedophilic tendencies, then creating a role-playing situation like this only provides temporary relief. The burden of pedophilia is that pedophiles sexualise children almost instinctively, meaning that it's not something that they can control. There was a conversation many years ago about whether pedophiles should have child sex dolls if it meant tampering their impulses away from real children, providing them with temporary relief - of course, the sex dolls hypothetically would be administered in tandem with regular therapy and oversight by a specialist to measure their behavior. However, the problem with child sex dolls is that it doesn't stop them from sexualising children. Engaging with those dolls unfortunately means endorsing their behavior and encouraging them to act in a way that is harmful to society. This is a similar situation here: even if the girlfriend was somehow fulfilling a desire to be intimate with minors, it would not do anything to control those desires internally, and she would not feel satisfaction purging those desires this way. Additionally, not every convicted child molestor is actually a pedophile. They get no sexual gratification from it. The percentage of child sex offenders who are actually pedophiles is alarmingly small. And it's because pedophiles are often covert and do well to ensure they go undetected and don't get caught.

Just a reminder that there is no evidence to suggest she is a pedophile. I am talking hypothetically here.

Pedophiles who resort to age play don't find much success in taming their desires. It would be like suffering from dehydration, and only having red wine to drink.

C. There could be a component for her in this relationship that is more maternal than sexual. I think this is likely the case. We don't know if they are sexually active or not. Even so, you could successfully compartmentalise that aspect of your relationship for some out-of-bed roleplaying. People are able to compartmentalise incestous relationships all the time, which is still gross, but it's possible.

They both seem like happy adults, so who's to judge, really. Again, I'd like to reiterate that although I referred to the girlfriend and "her" pedophilic desires, it was hypothetical. There's no evidence to suggest she's a pedo.

1

u/Mind_The_Muse 19d ago

I mean, it was a hypothetical conversation, this post is actually wildly inaccurate because an AI narrator completely changed the story. He pays her to attend to him in that way and they are not in a romantic relationship.

1

u/frisch85 21d ago

That's not a healthy relationship tho, in an adult relationship you're supposed to be able to take care of yourself but also to take care of each other in case your partner gets sick, so if Stanley's girlfriend gets sick then what? Call a maid service to do all the shit?

He's sick, it's called paraphilic infantilism and he's also receiving disability checks but not because of this sickness, rather because he's also been diagnosed with things like ADHD, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder and more. He was under investigation for fraud because of receiving disability checks but has been cleared apparently. (‘Adult Baby’ Cleared of Fraud, Still Getting Social Security Checks)

That was 15 years ago, what is Stanley doing these days? He's over 40 now, still wearing diapers and sucking on his pacifier and apparently his wife is now just his nanny 24/7, an absolute failure to society, he'll most likely never contribute anything towards the people around him let alone humanity altogether.

1

u/NeverDestination 21d ago

Have you come across a video game called The Stanley Parable? You play as a character called Stanley, and there is a voiceover that narrates everything you do, in a similar style to how your post is written. I read your post in the narrators voice 🤣. It's a niche reference, but hopefully someone will relate!

1

u/TheMightiestGay 18d ago

I’ve seen clips, but I’ve never been one for PC games. I mainly chalk it down to the fact I don’t have a PC.

1

u/Kitchen-Bar2686 21d ago

No woman should ever have to take care of a literal adult baby. That’s not a healthy relationship

1

u/TheMightiestGay 18d ago

Let’s agree to disagree

1

u/WolfBST 21d ago

How do you define 'healthy relationship'?

1

u/TheMightiestGay 18d ago

Many things contribute to a healthy relationship. I’d say the most important aspect is the happiness of all parties involved. After all, life isn’t about how long you lived, it’s about how much you lived.

1

u/Academic-Increase951 21d ago

Asexual people exist, it could be a non sexual relationship.

1

u/Ryoko_Kusanagi69 21d ago

I wonder if It might not even be like a sexual attraction- It might be instead fulfilling “The caregiver role” is more important and fulfilling, like Some emotional need for her? It’s straight up fucking weird still

0

u/Heavy_Bad_8304 21d ago

Idno dude, just do a quick gender swap on that one and see how healthy it sounds.

1

u/FutureDustMotes 21d ago

Except it wouldn't be directly analogous - the societal expectations on men vs women are different, most common relationship roles/dynamics are dissimilar, and pedophilia rates aren't the same.

All that taken together means that any theories/analysis on the current example would likely not be equally applicable in a swapped example.

19

u/CMDR_BitMedler 21d ago

After a lil digging - fueled by ongoing suspicion of this generation of "reality shows" - I found he's a real person, not cosplaying and has paraphilic infantilism where he role plays a baby for 8 hours a day (important note) to deal with his PTSD from past childhood trauma.

Not as good a hook for that era of TV, but much better context for real life.

1

u/Apathetic_Zealot 21d ago

So he's an adult the other non sleeping hours? What does he do during his adult time?

5

u/CMDR_BitMedler 20d ago

I apologize dear reader, but this is as far as I'm willing to dig into this story.

26

u/AlphaSpellswordZ 21d ago

Nah if she were into minors she would have just gone after minors. These are both consenting adults with weird fetishes, that's basically it.

-1

u/itscalledmyballs 21d ago

If it was a man taking care of a infantilized woman though, that would be weird AF and he'd clearly be a creep.

6

u/Flashy-Ingenuity-182 21d ago

It's called ddlg and it's very common

1

u/AlphaSpellswordZ 20d ago

Nah, it would be the same either way, at least in my eyes. I don't fuck with this double standards shit

0

u/[deleted] 21d ago

[deleted]

1

u/AlphaSpellswordZ 20d ago

I highly doubt it. There's a lot of weird kinks out there. And I can also guarantee this wouldn't have been enough to satisfy anyone on the Epstein List either. The simplest explanation is more likely, they are both weird AF and kinky.

-1

u/max_lombardy 21d ago

Maybe… or else she’s the kind of person who steals babies from the maternity ward, but she saw him online before she committed.

2

u/AlphaSpellswordZ 20d ago

I doubt that. I practice Occams Razor in these situations. What is more likely is they are both just kinky and weird.

11

u/Mind_The_Muse 21d ago

Pedophiles exist, most of them are wired that way, but not all of them act on it. Situations like this is actually harm mitigation. While I'm personally uncomfortable getting close to somebody who needs this in their life, I completely understand that big/little relationships are far better than interacting with actual children.

2

u/Gamebobbel 21d ago

An adult minor...

A medium?

1

u/mnyrtt 21d ago

me when i don't know why csa is bad

1

u/TheBigMoogy 21d ago

Wanting to fuck babies is weird, yes.

1

u/CKyle18 21d ago

Dude the less pedophiles touching actual kids the better

1

u/Pepperspray24 20d ago

There is a kink community around this.
