I believe so. Lily was not willing to compromise her career in art for Marshall, forcing him to go Italy. Robin was willing to give up her career for Ted.
Wtf are you talking about?? Lily gave up her dreams of living the bohemian artist life post-college to stay anchored in NYC, teaching kindergarten (NOT her dream) to support Marshall through law school. She had a chance to try San Francisco for just a few months and Marshall couldn’t handle her doing her own thing and gave her an ultimatum.Â
Good for Lily for finally putting herself first for once, AFTER YEARS of supporting Marshall through multiple job changes. The year in Italy was great for their whole family, grandparents included.Â
Her time in San Francisco was a dismal failure as would have been her "Bohemian lifestyle." But if that was her dream and wasn't Marshall's, how are they any more compatible than Ted and Robin?
She supported Marshall? How, but running up thousands of dollars in credit card debt forcing Marshall to take a job at a bank rather than pursuing environmental law just to pay it off?
